Chapter 56: A Day in the Life
The days at Eternity Online Academy were a whirlwind of classes, training, and socializing. Yun-ho, Nova, Ethan, and Anya found themselves juggling their studies with their extracurricular activities.
One day, during a particularly boring lecture on ancient history, Ethan leaned over to Yun-ho. "Hey, remember when Nova challenged you to a duel?" he asked.
Yun-ho chuckled. "Yeah, that was pretty funny."
"I wonder what she's up to now," Ethan said. "She's been awfully quiet lately."
Just as they were about to continue their conversation, Nova burst into the classroom. "Yun-ho!" she exclaimed, her face flushed.
Yun-ho raised an eyebrow. "What's up, Nova?" he asked.
Nova hesitated. "I just wanted to... well, never mind."
Yun-ho and Ethan exchanged amused glances. They knew that Nova was hiding something.
After class, Yun-ho and Ethan cornered Nova. "Come on, Nova," Ethan said. "What's going on?"
Nova sighed. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry about the other day," she admitted. "I was being childish."
Yun-ho and Ethan laughed. "It's okay," Yun-ho said. "We all do stupid things sometimes."
Nova smiled. "I guess you're right."
As they walked out of the classroom, Nova couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. She had been so jealous of Yun-ho and Yeonha, she had acted impulsively.
Meanwhile, the constellations were watching the scene unfold with amusement.
"Those humans are so dramatic," Lyra said.
"I know," Orion replied. "They're always getting themselves into trouble."
"Maybe we should've chosen someone a little more mature," Apus suggested.
The other constellations laughed. "Don't worry," Ophiucus said. "They'll figure it out."
Later that evening in another boring lecture on advanced magic theory, Ethan not having his fill on the amusement from earlier decided to bring this conversation up once again.
"Hey, remember when Nova challenged you to a duel?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Yun-ho chuckled, a fond smile spreading across his face, seeing where Ethan was going here also not contempt with the answer Nova gave earlier thinking there was more to it. "Yeah, that was pretty funny."
Nova, who was sitting nearby, perked up. "Hey!" she exclaimed, playfully nudging Ethan. "I wasn't being serious."
Ethan laughed. "Oh, please. We all saw the way you were looking at Yun-ho."
Nova blushed and rolled her eyes. "Whatever," she muttered.
Yun-ho couldn't help but chuckle at their playful banter. He had always admired Nova's fiery spirit and her quick wit.
After class, Yun-ho and Ethan decided to get a straight answer and cornered Nova. "Come on, Nova," Ethan said. "What's going on?"
Nova sighed. "I already told you earlier"
Yun-ho and Ethan exchanged amused glances. They knew that Nova was hiding something.
"Spill it," Yun-ho urged. "We won't judge."
Nova hesitated for a moment, then finally admitted the truth. "I was jealous," she confessed. "I saw the way you two were looking at each other, and I couldn't help but feel a little left out."
Yun-ho and Ethan burst out laughing. "You were jealous?" Ethan teased.
Nova blushed. "Shut up," she replied.
"It's okay, Nova," Yun-ho said. "We understand. We all get jealous sometimes."
Nova smiled. "I guess you're right."
As they walked out of the classroom, Nova couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. She had finally admitted her feelings, and it felt good to get them off her chest.
And as she looked at Yun-ho and Ethan, she knew that she had the best friends anyone could ask for.
