Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Goku vs Roshi

The crowd was buzzing with excitement as Goku and Master Roshi stood face to face in the center of the ring. Goku, still wearing his weighted clothes, smiled brightly, while Roshi cracked his neck, ready to see just how far his student had come.

The gong sounded, and the fight began.

Goku launched forward with a flurry of quick punches, catching Roshi off guard. His movements were so fast that Roshi found himself on the defensive almost immediately. Despite his experience, Roshi realized that Goku's power had grown exponentially since they last sparred.

"Heh, this kid's no joke anymore," Roshi muttered, dodging a punch by a hair's breadth. "I better step it up!"

Roshi quickly pumped up his energy, flexing his muscles and increasing his power to the maximum. His frame grew bulkier, and veins popped out as he powered up. The crowd gasped at the sudden change in Roshi's appearance.

But even with all his might, Roshi was still being pushed back. Goku's raw power and speed were overwhelming.

"What is this kid made of?!" Roshi thought, ducking under a kick that would've sent him flying.

Despite his power advantage, Goku still had a child's body, which Roshi quickly noticed. Taking advantage of Goku's smaller stature, Roshi started weaving in and out of Goku's attacks, delivering well-placed strikes to Goku's torso and legs. For a moment, it seemed like Roshi had found a way to level the playing field.

"Goku, you're strong, but you've got a long way to go before you can beat an old master like me!" Roshi grinned, bouncing on his toes like he was half his age.

But his advantage didn't last long.

Goku, feeling the pressure, decided to stop holding back. With a quick tug, he ripped off his weighted clothes and let them crash to the ground with a heavy thud, creating a small crater beneath them. The audience gasped in unison, and Roshi's eyes widened.

"You were fighting with those on?" Roshi asked, bewildered.

Goku smiled sheepishly. "Yeah! They help with my training."

Roshi gulped. "I'm in trouble."

Goku surged forward with newfound speed and power, and Roshi found himself completely outmatched. Each punch and kick from Goku sent shockwaves through the arena, and the crowd couldn't believe what they were witnessing.

However, Roshi wasn't one to give up easily. Just as Goku was about to land a powerful blow, Roshi pulled out a trump card. He waved his hand in a mysterious pattern, and Goku felt something strange happening to his mind.

"Hypnosis Technique!" Roshi shouted.

Goku's eyes glazed over as his body began to relax. His mind became foggy, and he felt a strong urge to sleep. The crowd watched in confusion as Goku swayed on his feet, nearly falling asleep right there in the ring.

Krillin and Yamcha were on their feet in the stands, shouting at Goku to snap out of it. Bulma, who was watching from the sidelines, gasped. "What's happening to him?!"

Grandpa Gohan, standing nearby, furrowed his brow but didn't look too worried. "That's a tricky move, but Goku's got more in him than this."

In Goku's mind, a battle was raging. He could feel the hypnosis taking over, but he wasn't about to let it end here. With all his willpower, he began using his telekinesis to block the hypnotic waves. However, his telekinesis was still underdeveloped, and the strain on his mind was immense.

"Agh, my head... it hurts!" Goku thought, clutching his forehead as a strong headache pulsed through him. Despite the pain, he focused all his mental strength on breaking free from Roshi's hold.

Roshi, noticing Goku's struggle, took the opportunity to launch a series of lightning-fast kicks, followed by his famous Thunder Shock Surprise attack. The electricity crackled through the air, zapping Goku and leaving him stunned.

Goku stumbled back, his body covered in burns from the Thunder Shock Surprise. The pain was excruciating, and for the first time in the match, he looked like he might not be able to continue.

"Hang in there, Goku!" Krillin yelled from the stands.

"I'm fine!" Goku shouted back, though his body told a different story. His legs wobbled, and his vision blurred from the combination of the hypnosis and the physical attacks.

Krillin, and Yamcha exchanged worried glances. Even Grandpa Gohan seemed tense, but he still believed in Goku's ability to pull through.

In the haze of his confusion, Goku's training kicked in. The teachings of Grandpa Gohan, the rigorous lessons from Mr. Popo, and even the memories of Whis, his mysterious guide from the past, all flooded into his mind.

His body moved on instinct, dodging about 30 to 40 percent of Roshi's attacks. It wasn't enough to completely avoid damage, but it was enough to keep him in the fight.

"I... won't... lose!" Goku roared, gathering every ounce of his remaining willpower.

With one final mental push, Goku's telekinetic power surged, breaking the hypnotic hold. The mental strain was immense, but he had done it. The fog lifted from his mind, and Goku's eyes sharpened once more.

Roshi's eyes widened as he realized Goku was back in control. "He broke through?!"

Goku grinned through the pain, knowing that now was his chance. He cupped his hands together and began to gather energy. "Kaaa...meeee...haaaa...meee..."

Roshi's face went pale. He could feel the power behind Goku's Kamehameha, and there was no way he could counter it. Thinking quickly, Roshi raised his hand. "Alright, alright! I surrender!"

The crowd gasped as Roshi forfeited the match. The announcer looked stunned but quickly composed himself. "M-Master Roshi has surrendered! Goku is the winner!"

Goku, still in the middle of his Kamehameha, stopped mid-chant, confused. "Huh? You gave up?"

Roshi chuckled, wiping sweat from his brow. "Yep. You're too strong for me, kid."

But Goku wasn't hearing any of it. His headache from breaking the hypnosis was pounding too hard for him to focus. He blinked a few times, staggered, and then promptly collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

The audience erupted into cheers, but Bulma, Krillin, and Yamcha rushed to his side, worried about his condition. Grandpa Gohan watched from afar, smiling proudly.

"Well done, Goku," he whispered to himself.

And thus, Goku had won the match
