"When are you leaving?" This was the first word that came out of her mouth, but I could sense the underlying tension.
I nodded, still fuming from our earlier conversation. She was refusing to tell me who had strangled her, and I could see the marks clearly around her neck.
My anger simmered just below the surface as I stared at the bruises, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios.
I felt like she was trying to shield Emilio, and that only added fuel to the fire. My eyes narrowed, and my jaw clenched in frustration.
"Come on, let's go together then," I said, my voice firm, but barely containing the anger that threatened to boil over.
"No, it's early… I can't leave the.." I pulled out my phone and placed it in front of her to check the time.
Isabella looked up at me, her eyes widening as she saw the time. "Oh, I didn't realize it was so late," she said, her voice tinged with surprise.
