Upon arriving home, the junior agents immediately shared their experience about the monster. They described how its breath was terrifying, like poison, and their bodies felt hot from its presence.
They added, "Thankfully, Agent Saber saved us, though we don't really know how he fights."
Curious, Sakura asked Hazel about Agent Saber. Hazel replied, "He's just a regular agent. He works for an organization that protects this village from threats, and that's all there is to it."
Sakura felt puzzled. How could an ordinary agent like Saber defeat such a monster? The mystery lingered in her mind.
Olivia then entered the room, smiling warmly, and said, "Hello, my little agents. It's time for you all to go to sleep. Tomorrow is another big day."
Meanwhile, at the training facility where the system was malfunctioning, the monster rose again after its supposed death. But this was no ordinary creature—it had thoughts of its own. It sought to reach its perfect form and would become incredibly powerful if it succeeded.
The monster started walking toward the village. Along the way, it spotted a box filled with energy. It approached the box, and as it reached out to touch it, it was electrocuted with an intense surge of electricity. However, the monster, driven by its arrogance, forced itself to grab the box and devour the energy inside.
Unexpectedly, its body began to change, undergoing a massive transformation. Its appearance became more humanoid, its skin turning a shade of crimson. Now, it had the ability to fly and could summon two dragons that spewed fire.
During this transformation, the monster was observed by a couple, a man named Hunter and a woman named Vivienne. Both were renowned detectives who had solved countless cases. Vivienne had the unique ability to sense the presence of criminals, making it easy for her to track down even the most elusive fugitives. Hunter, on the other hand, was known for his agility and skill in apprehending those who resisted arrest.
Vivienne asked, "What should we do about that monster?" turning to Hunter.
Hunter replied, "Let's wait and watch. We'll see how the agents handle this one."
Vivienne smiled. "Good idea. Besides, we're pretty strong ourselves."
Morning arrived, and the junior agents were quickly awakened by the nurses, who directed them to bathe and put on their uniforms. They attended their agent training classes, eager to improve. After the lessons, their instructor announced that they would have a combat simulation to get used to facing enemies in real situations.
The first match was Aiko versus Akane. Both were skilled sword users, but Akane exuded a cooler demeanor. Akane dashed around the arena, confusing Aiko by creating multiple shadow clones of herself. Without hesitation, Akane unleashed a swift sword strike, sending Aiko flying, and declared victory.
Hazel immediately rushed to Aiko's side, asking, "Are you okay, Aiko?"
Aiko nodded, "I'm fine, sensei."
Hazel sighed in relief, "Good."
The instructor addressed the junior agents, "You all saw that, right? We are agents, and we must be strong. We never know what will happen in the future, whether the next monster will be stronger than us. That's why we must always grow more powerful!"
Watching from a distance, Vivienne and Hunter smiled. Vivienne remarked, "They're a tough bunch of kids, but we're still stronger." She grinned slightly.
Hunter nodded. "Let's just wait. The real game is about to begin."
To be continued...
