I finally arrived at Ethan's house, my breath coming in short bursts from the brisk walk. I hesitated for a moment, gathering my thoughts, then knocked on the door. No one came. I rang the doorbell. Still no one. Is he out? Is he just pretending not to be home?
I felt a slight chill creep into my bones. Ugh, whatever. He would wait for me, so I'll just do the same! He has to come out this door eventually.
