Chapter 16 - A New Year

(Y/n)'s POV

I started to understand why people in movies and series called friends the light of life, or at least, I would've to the fullest, if it wasn't because Harry wasn't answering my letters

It wasn't just to me either, Hermione and Ron came to my house whenever they could, and even them told me Harry didn't answer any of their letters.

Every time we'd be doing something fun, like teaching Ron how to play videogames, or reading a book with Hermione, the thought of Harry not being here stood out.

"I wonder if Harry's played any of these... videogames" Ron said, as I was teaching him how to play one, and muttered things like 'bloody hell' every time he died.

"I don't know mate, but I bet he'd have the time of his life if he was here, I just wish he answered his letters..." I said, and Hermione chimed in.

"Yeah, I found this quite impressive book about Quidditch that I wanted to lend him."

"Same, Dad gave me one about Defence against the Dark Arts that I wanted to lend him, he seemed to really enjoy that class." I said.

Hermione came more frequently than Ron, sometimes when I invited him he couldn't make it, maybe he had stuff to do in his house, I also had lessons in the summer, sometimes when they came over.

Hermione didn't mind them, and my parents didn't mind letting her watch either, she liked to learn, and my parents could never say no to someone like that.

Aside from that, we read books that I wanted to lend her and books she wanted me to see. Among them, I found a book my grandma gave me a few weeks into the summer about magical creatures, and I have to say, they're really interesting.

I've always had a bit of an interest in animals, especially magical ones, and now Blaze was starting to grow more, she was almost the size of my open hand, but something told me she still had room to grow a bit more, so that made me start reading more into magical creatures.

Sometimes I had to force Hermione to go to the courtyard for anything that wasn't the lessons my Dad gave me – or rather – showed me, she also finally got to meet my parents, at least properly.

Dad was rather awkward at the beginning with Hermione and Ron, I guess someone could think he was kind of angry at something – or someone -- when in reality, apparently he was like this with new people.

His face was all serious the first few times they visited, it was weird, I couldn't read his face at all.

It gave me a better image of how he was at work, or somewhere that wasn't home, but after those first few times he finally relaxed around them, and as of now he was teaching me new spells.

Mom on the other hand warmed up immediately to them, she was just like that I guess, talkative and easy to approach, I wish I was a bit like her in that aspect.

I couldn't use magic outside of school's boundaries, as there was this trace that made it so people were notified when you did so, and they could even expel you for it, so once again Dad was showing me spells, slinging them around in the courtyard, and Hermione was with me today.

"Your Dad knows a lot of spells, I can see why you'd want to replicate what you see from him, he's... kind of a show off." Said Hermione, I laughed a bit, Dad was really easy to see through if you put enough time into it, and if he feels comfortable enough.

Hermione accompanied me through some of the lessons I had, I usually had at least three of them around the week, and 'coincidentally' she mostly visited when I had them.

Hermione enjoyed studying so when she had the chance, she would join me in them, Ron didn't enjoy them one bit, maybe that's why he didn't come that often...

She looked at my Dad with a perplexed look, like trying to understand or figure something out in her head as he was slinging spells, and from the vibe I got from her and because I knew her, I asked.

"I guess you still prefer reading about all of this?" I was a visual learner, Hermione was more of a reading learner, which was fine too.

"Yes, I don't think your Dad's teaching methods are wrong, it's just that reading feels more comfortable for me, although, it does help to see someone more experienced doing the wand movements." She said,

"Don't worry Hermione, Mom told me we all have different ways of learning, you can't judge a fish for not knowing how to climb, no?" I said, remembering something Mom told me once.

"I didn't know you knew about Albert Einstein" Maybe something in her lit up, she looked just as excited as when she talks about magical theory.

"Uh, I thought Mom invented that one..." I said while looking to the ground, Hermione just stared at me and then laughed, and I laughed too, until those thoughts filled my mind.

This kind of thing's been happening lately, these were fun days, but two things kept invading my mind, two thoughts that bothered me, the first one since the beginning of the summer, or better said, since our run up against Voldemort and the words he whispered to me.

They rubbed me the wrong way, as if they were something I should know but is still being kept away from me.

And the second one? Harry, the thought of him not answering his letters and not giving any signs of life worried me a lot, his family gave me a weird vibe, and it did basically to all three of us, so thanks to Ron feeding our minds, we thought he might be in some sort of problem.

I was lost in thought, scenario after scenario running through my head, as if I was looking at things through the window of a car that goes too fast, too blurry to actually think about them long enough and yet they linger in your mind, and each scenario was worse than the one before.

And I think it showed, as Hermione touched my shoulder and asked.

"Are you all right, (Y/n)?" Was I that easy to read? I was quiet for a few seconds, I hadn't told anyone what Voldemort told me, it was the first time I didn't tell my parents about something, because I was scared.

More than scared, I kind of knew the answer they would tell me, ever since I discovered I was a wizard they've been more cryptic about stuff, Dad never let me be in his office, but now he seemed nervous every time I walked close to it, he tried to hide it, but I felt it.

What if what they didn't tell me was something bad? What if it was something good? But if it was good, why wouldn't they tell me? Thoughts like that ran almost every night through my mind, and I felt bad enough keeping a secret from them, so accumulating all of that was making my anxiety worse.

I didn't know if I should tell Hermione about it, or any of my friends to be precise, we already had enough worries with what happened last year, me being all bruised up and wounded, I didn't want to worry them more, but it was eating me from the inside.

"(Y/n)?" She asked once again, I looked into her brown eyes, and said.

"I'm fine, Hermione, it's just... I'm worried about Harry, he hasn't answered any of us, what if..." I trailed off.

"I know, I'm worried too, but we can't just barge into his house to see how he is-" Hermione helped me with that last bit, why was I so stupid sometimes? He lived near me, not a 10-minute drive, but still, we're in Little Whinging.

"Hermione, you're a genius! I'm going to send a letter to Ron right now!" And I ran to the house.

"What? Why?" She asked.

"Well, we've got to make a plan to see if he's alright, no? We've got to make sure he's safe" I said

"Even if we went, we can't just barge into his house," She said. I found paper and a pen, so I started to write the letter to Ron.

"I know, but don't worry, no one will know we were there, not even his family! We'll be sneaky about it."

"I don't know (Y/n), this all seems too rushed, we can't do anything illegal, maybe we should just wait a bit to plan it bett-"

"Sent!" I said, as I put the letter on our family owl, Coconut, which was mostly my Dad's owl, but since I found out what I was, they showed her to me. Hermione didn't look too pleased, but just let it slide.

Normally I wouldn't go against Hermione's way of thinking, she was pretty smart, but thinking of ways to try and help Harry also helped me get my mind off things of not telling anyone what the voice told me.

Maybe I couldn't tell Hermione today, but soon I will, if I couldn't share it with her, then who?

--------------------------------------------------------------

Ron answered the very next day, and told me they kind of had a similar plan, but me sending the letter motivated them even more, he told me he'll take the flying car his family has with Fred and George to go see if Harry's safe or not.

I answered the letter, unfortunately, Hermione wouldn't be able to come as their parents would be worried if she got out that late at night, so we didn't force her to come, I couldn't tell my parents, so for the second time, I lied to them.

I told them that Ron invited me over to his house, and asked them if they would let me stay the night. After a while thinking about it they said yes, I felt bad, it was the second time I lied to them, but at the same time, it felt exciting.

So now here we were, four underage wizards driving a flying car without licence in the middle of the night, I can see why Hermione told me to plan it better, at least the twin's driving skills weren't that bad, we haven't got any accident in whole 15 minutes

"Okay, everything's going pretty smooth if I do say so my- WATCH OUT!" I screamed at the twins, as the twins almost crashed into the roof of a house.

"Gee (Y/n), don't worry about every little thing, you sound like Hermione." Said Fred.

"Yeah, just trust us, we're practically experts at this point." Said George, or at least, I think it's them, sometimes I tend to confuse them.

"Alright... sorry, what were you saying Ron?" I said to Ron, who wanted to tell me something.

"Oh yeah, my dad works at the ministry-"

"That's cool, what does he do?" I interrupted him, not on purpose obviously, but sometimes I blurted out words without thinking, he looked a bit surprised but kept going.

"He works at the Misuse of Muggle artefacts, he loves them, though I think it's pretty boring – anyways – Dad told us that Harry received a warning for using magic in public."

"That's... odd, Harry did tell us he was intending on pranking his family with magic, but I didn't think he'd be the type to actually do it, something feels off about it."

We kept getting distracted and I almost got a heart attack, as Fred and George driving skills weren't bad, but being in the dark driving and also trying not to draw any attention to ourselves, that meant not using the lights of the car.

After all the journey, we arrived at what was Harry's address, and immediately what caught our attention was that one of the windows had bars, like a prison, after 'parking' the car closer to it, we saw that it was Harry's room, he was sleeping, sweating, and with little to no sheets.

"Harry!" I whispered, "Harry, come on mate, wake up!" He made some sounds, until he finally opened his eyes, he called out our names, and approached the window, as I gasped

What surprised me made my heart almost shatter, he looked even skinnier than last year, Ron and I grew a bit over the summer, even if it was only a month, it was normal, we were growing, even Hermoine grew a bit more, with Ron still towering over us as usual, but I was approaching him at a slow pace.

Harry didn't, in fact, I even wondered if he grew even a few centimetres, as I looked at him and he looked like he hadn't eaten in weeks, he was considerably smaller to what a normal twelve year old should be, I looked at Ron, and he looked really concerned too, now I was a bit taller than Harry.

"All right, Harry?" said Fred and George.

"What's been going on?" Asked Ron, with worry in his voice, "Why haven't you been answering our letters? (Y/n) and I have been asking you to stay about twelve times each, and then Dad came and said you'd got an official warning for using magic in front of Muggles"

"Yeah Harry, you alright? I've been worried sick, Hermione too, she just couldn't come today." I said.

"It wasn't my fault, this – wait, how did he know?" Asked Harry, with a weak voice.

"He works at the Ministry, we're not supposed to do spells outside of school, you know this." Said Ron

"Bit rich coming from you," Said Harry, looking at the flying car.

"This doesn't count Harry, we've st- uh, borrowed it from Ron's Dad, it's a bit different from doing magic in front of Muggles, but I know you wouldn't, so what did happen, Harry?" I asked.

"Thanks, (Y/n), but it's too long to explain it now, look, can you tell Hogwarts that the Dursley have locked me up and won't let me come back, and obviously I can't magic myself out, bec-" He started to say, but I interrupted him.

"What are you talking about, Harry? We've come to make sure you're safe, and you're not, we're taking you out of here." I said

"But you can't magic me out of here either!" Harry said.

"We don't need to, you forget who we've got with us." Said Ron, smiling widely looking at his brothers, I knew bringing that rope would work.

"Tie that around the bars," Said Fred, as he threw it at Harry, and he did so.

"If the Dursley wake up I'm dead" Harry said, I looked at him, and said.

"Don't worry Harry, we'll be sneaky about it." As soon as I finished that sentence, I realised I couldn't be more wrong.

The car's engine started to sound louder and louder, until the bars were separated from the window with a crunching noise, not too sneaky, to be honest, but it worked, Fred and George made it so the car was as close as it could from the window.

"Get in," Said Ron.

"But all my Hogwarts stuff... my wand... my broomstick.." Said Harry,

"Where are they?" I asked

"Under the stairs, in the cupboard, but this room's locked, I can't- what are you doing?" Said Harry, as I was searching around my pockets, and took out Blaze.

"We can't use magic, but what she has isn't magic!" I jumped out of the car to Harry's room, approached the door, and signalled to Blaze to melt down the doorknob, which she did with alarming control, so I just pushed the door, and it opened.

"Brilliant! Good work Blaze." I said, as I put her on my shoulder, as she seemed to be uncomfortable in her hand made pocket.

Fred and George climbed out of the car, and said.

"We'll get your trunk, you grab anything from this room and hand it to Ron" Whispered George.

"Watch out for the bottom stair, it creaks," And me and the twins went downstairs to get Harry's trunk, even if they did like my idea with Blaze first, they said the smell of melt metal was too strong, so they took out a lockpick, and opened the cupboard, we carefully took it to Harry's room.

It was a difficult task, these trunks are really big, so we made a bit of noise, as we heard one of Harry's family members cough a few times, somehow, we were able to put it, but when we were about to start the car, Harry realised someone was missing.

"I've forgotten Hedwig!" And we heard another voice shout, Harry ran across the room and I followed him, I helped him load Hedwig back on, and then tried to help him jump through the window, we were both about to jump, until we heard the sound of someone screaming in pain.

We looked behind us, and saw a big man, with his hand red – probably from touching the melted doorknob that Blaze burned – looking at us with his face just as red and as we jumped, he grabbed both of our ankles, as he screamed.

"HE'S GETTING AWAY, PETUNIA, HE'S GETTING AWAY!" It was nerve wracking, Ron, George and Fred were pulling us towards the car. I was really nervous, brimming with anxiety, so I couldn't find a better solution, I screamed, and kicked him in the face with my free leg.

That seemed to make him lose his grip on us, and with one final pull, we were back on the car, with adrenaline still on my body, I yelled.

"START THE CAR!"

And we went flying towards the starry night, all looking pretty tired, but happy. Harry let out Hedwig to, in his words, let her stretch her wings, and told us everything that's been happening to him.

He told us about Dobby, a house elf that was interfering with his letters, how he gave him a warning, and how he hit himself everytime he almost told Harry who sent him, we all were shocked at it, and Fred said.

"Well, it may be someone's idea of a joke. Can you think of anyone at school with a grudge against you?" And I think we all immediately thought of the bleach blonde kid that was always wanting to get us in trouble last year.

"Yes," The three of us said. "Draco Malfoy," Said Harry.

"Lucius Malfoy's son?" Said George, "I've heard Dad talk about him, he was a big supporter of You Know Who."

"And when You Know Who disappeared, Lucius Malfoy came back saying he never meant any of it, load of dung, Dad reckons he was right in You Know Who's inner circle" Said Fred.

"Well, it makes kind of sense that his family followed Voldemort" When I said the name everyone except Harry jumped a bit, "but maybe it's also true that he had some way of mind control, I mean, with magic anything can happen, right?"

"Dad told us about one, the Imperius curse, they haven't taught us any info yet." Said Fred.

"And I don't reckon they will either, nasty stuff." Said George.

"But apparently it gave Dad some trouble years ago" Said Fred, finishing each other's thoughts, it was rather concerning that it was possible, and I wasn't the only one, Harry was a bit shocked as well.

I realised it was getting awkward, so I brought up the topic of how we thought Harry was ignoring us or doing something else, and after a while, Harry asked.

"Why would that curse give your Dad some trouble? And I don't suppose your dad knows you got the flying car, given what (Y/n) said."

"Er, no" Said Ron, and he went on to explain that his Dad works at the ministry, why he has a flying car, and how their house is full of enchanted Muggle stuff. It does sound interesting when they put it that way, but it seems too complicated.

After a while driving, we finally made it to Ron's house, The Burrow, a big house, that seemed to be maintained by magic, and seemed to have extra rooms added here and there, all in all, it was a pretty cosy place, filled with a warm that exuded love, it was a nice place filled by nice people.

"It's not much," Said Ron,

"It's brilliant." Said Harry.

"Took the words out of my mouth" I said, getting out of the car.

"We'll go upstairs really quietly." Said the twins, I gave them thumbs up, and said.

"Yeah! Real sneaky, like a ninja!-" As soon as I said that I stepped on something that I initially thought was a rock.

How foolish of me.

The 'rock' screamed as I stepped on it, and from that, I screamed too, the others looked at me with a 'SHUUUUUSH' motion, I would've laughed if I wasn't so scared, I looked down, and saw a brown creature, smaller than my feet, looking at me hurt.

"I-I-I'm sorry!" I screamed again, not on purpose of course, it's kind of difficult to control your voice after almost having a heart attack, they all looked at me, until we heard the ground tremble.

We all looked at where the Weasley had their chickens, as we cowered in fear and saw Mrs Weasley stomping her way over to us, the brown creature took this chance and ran away.

"It was nice going adventuring with you guys..." I said, dramatically.

"Oh bugger off! You're saying that as if she'll get mad at you" Said Ron, angry.

When Mrs Weasley finally got to us, her face matched the colour of her hair, she was wearing a flowered pattern apron, and looked at us as if she was waiting for something, and when she didn't get it, said.

"So?"

"Morning, Mum" Said George, apparently trying to play it out as if they just woke up, it obviously didn't work.

"Have you any idea how worried I've been?" said Mrs Weasly in a whisper that made me feel bad.

Maybe we should've left her a note or something, but I know that if my parents went missing like that, I'd be worried to my bones.

"Sorry, Mum, but see, we had t-" Tried to say Fred.

"Beds empty! No note! Car gone! Could have crashed... Could've been caught! You wait until your Father gets home! We never had trouble like this from Bill, Charlie or Percy..." Said Mrs Weasley, I was right about the note, I started to feel guilty and could only look down.

"Perfect Percy..." Muttered Fred, it wasn't a good idea.

"YOU COULD DO WITH TAKING A LEAF OUT OF PERCY'S BOOK!" I had to put my hands on my ears, her screaming was somehow louder than the Great Hall.

Mrs Weasley went on and on about what felt like a long time ranting to her sons, and us too, I took the chance on one of the times she took for breathing, and said.

"I-I-I'm sorry Mrs Weasley, it's my fault, I got really worried a-about Harry, a-and..." I was nervous, I've never been scolded like that before, but kept going, "They were starving him, if you r-really want to punish someone then..." I couldn't finish.

Mrs Weasley perked up at the word starving, looked at Harry and her eyes were suddenly filled with kindness, she hugged Harry and said.

"I don't blame either of you, of course, and – Oh, Harry, come on, time for spot of breakfast, you too (Y/n), but still" She looked at her children, "You took the car, there'll be some punishment" She looked sad for a bit, but at least she stopped scolding the Weasley brothers, and we all went inside.

Ron's house was filled with things that looked like they belonged to muggles, but they were all magical in a way, like a clock that had no numbers but pictures and a hand, a flying cleaning broom, I guess it's normal in a full wizard family, Harry and I followed them to the kitchen.

I don't mean to sound... mean or anything, but the kitchen was small, and it had a wooden table and a lot of chairs, so I sat down next to Harry, while the others sat down on designated spots, as if they each had their own marked chair.

Mrs Weasley was mumbling about something, and then said.

"Arthur and I have been worried about you, too, and apparently we were right!" With a tinge of anger in her voice, "But really, flying an illegal car halfway across the country , anyone could have seen you" Mrs Weasley was making breakfast and talking, don't know how she did it, if it was me, I'd forget I put the eggs in the first place.

She put a plate with three eggs in front of Harry, and did the same for all of us, she flicked her wand and the dishes started to clean by themselves.

"It was cloudy, Mum!" Said Fred, although I couldn't really understand it, he had his mouth full.

"You keep your mouth closed while you're eating!" Said Mrs Weasley, okay, she was similar to my Mom in a way.

I heard some weird footsteps, and looked from where they originated, a red-headed girl who if I remember correctly her name was Ginny, she stayed there for a bit, staring at me and Harry, I felt awkward, so trying to overcome my anxiety of talking to new people, I waved my hand at her.

She let out a small eep, and before Harry could even say anything too, she left running, probably to her room.

Harry looked confused, and so did I, maybe Harry didn't remember her, he had a tough summer, all things considered.

"Ginny," Said Ron, "My sister, she's been talking about you all summer."

"But then why did she look at me like that? I'm pretty sure I'm not in every history book...." I said.

"She's a bit scared of you, can you blame her? You took down a bloody troll by yourself" Said Ron.

"Language!" Said Mrs Weasley, Ron let out a small 'sorry' and continued golfing up his food, and we all did the same, as Harry ate a bread with butter Mrs Weasley did for her, but he still seemed a bit hungry, so I left him two of my fried eggs, and said.

"Mate, you can have mine, I'm not all that hungry, besides I'm pretty sure Mom'll have something for me back at home." He tried to refuse, but I just forcefully put my plate in front of him, and he started eating.

Did people really think like that of me? I don't want them all thinking I'm some kind of freak either... I got out of my thoughts because George and Fred tried to run out to their rooms, until Mrs Weasley got them.

She told them to de-gnome the garden – whatever that meant – and told Ron to do it too, Harry wanted to see what it was about, and me too, so we declined the offer of Mrs Weasley of going to bed.

Before we could go see what it was about, Mrs Weasley took out a book and said something about a... Gildelock Royhart? I didn't really pay much attention to the name, I was already going outside.

The others caught up to me, and we started the whole de-gnoming process, we chatted a bit more, Ron got something out of the dirt, and said.

"This is a gnome." He took out the same brown creature I put my feet on.

"Oh, so that's what I stepped on, sorry..." I said to the creature, as it kicked, Ron grabbed its ankles, and said.

"This is what you have to do." He raised the gnome, and as if he was some sort of rope, started to swing him around in the air, my eyes went wide open, and I said.

"W-Wait!" Ron realised what I meant, and said.

"Don't worry, it doesn't hurt them, you've just got to make them really dizzy so they can't find their way back to the gnomeholes." And he threw him, the gnome flew a few metres, and landed over the hedge.

"I'm pretty sure that hurts them...." I said, Blaze, who was up till now sleeping on my shoulder, perked up at the thump the gnome made when it connected with the ground, and started to look for gnomes too, I just stood there and watch them do it, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

After a while, and after Blaze finally came back from chasing the Gnomes, a door slammed, and George said.

"He's back! Dad's home!"

They quickly went to the house and I followed, when we got there, in the kitchen was a man with red hair, though it was a small amount, he was thin and apparently wore glasses, as I saw a pair on the table, he had his eyes closed, now, I don't know how, but Mrs and Mr Weasley both had red hair, that was a weird coincidence.

"What a night... Nine raids. Nine! And old Mundungus tried to put a hex on me when I had my back turned..." Said Mr Weasley, that... sounded dangerous.

"Find anything, Dad?" Asked Fred.

"All I got were a few shrinking door-keys and a biting kettle" Said Mr Weasley, is that why Dad kept losing his? I wanted to ask, but I felt Mrs Weasley's anger, so I kept it to myself, unfortunately, Mr Weasley didn't realise it.

"Why would anyone bother making door-keys shrink?" Asked George, also ignorant of what was coming.

"Muggle-baiting, they'll never admit the key keeps shrinking, so they insist they keep losing them, bless them, they'll go to any lengths to ignore magic, even if it's staring at them in the face... but the things our lot have taken to enchanting, you wouldn't believ-" Before Mr Weasley could finish I put my hands on my ears, and Mrs Weasley yelled.

"LIKE CARS, FOR INSTANCE?" Oh uh, even if it wasn't you who she scolded, it made you feel bad, I'm really glad Mom never scolds me like this...

"C-cars, Molly, dear?" Said Mr Weasley.

"Yes, Arthur, cars, imagine a wizard buying a rusty old car and telling his wife he wanted to only take it apart to see how it worked, while really he wanted to enchant it to make it fly."

Mr Weasley looked like he was caught in the act, I suppressed a snort that would've probably earned me a few glares.

"Well dear, you'll find that he would be quite within the law to do that, even if, uh, he maybe would have done better to, um, tell his wife the truth... There's a loophole in the law, you'll find... as long as he wasn't intending to fly the car, the fact that the car could fly wouldn't-"

It was kind of funny to see how he was trying to justify himself, even under the hard gaze of Mrs Weasley, I would've crumbled away a long time ago.

"Arthur Weasley, you made sure there was a loophole when you wrote that law! Just so you could carry on tinkering with all that Muggle rubbish in your shed! And for your information, Harry arrived this morning in the car you weren't intending to fly and (Y/n) got dragged into it too!"

I couldn't stop myself this time, so I snorted, I didn't get glares, but I did get the attention of Mr Weasley, who didn't notice Harry and I were there until now, so paired that up with the mention of another two names.

"Harry? (Y/n)? Who-" He looked around, saw us – or more specifically Harry – and he jumped.

"Good lord, is it Harry Potter? And you" He said, looking at me now, I was kind of surprised he noticed me that fast when he had Harry in front of him too, "You look awfully familiar..." He examined me from my head to my feets, and with wide eyes said,

"You're Salazar's son, aren't you? I haven't heard from you since Molly told us they saw you last year." Before I could answer to Mr Weasley, he said,

"Oh! That reminds me, a few days I ran into Salazar in the ministry and he told me that you've practically lived as a muggle, so tell me, what is the purpose of rubb-" I could practically feel the anger Mrs Weasley was exuding, so I put my hands in my ears again,

"Your sons flew that car to Harry's house and back last night! What have you got to say about that, eh?" Said Mrs Weasley, instead of looking afraid, he looked happy in a way.

"Did you really? Did it go all right? I-I mean," He stuttered as Mrs Weasley looked like she was about to spit fire any second now, "That-that was very wrong, boys... very wrong indeed..." It looked like they could keep going, but Ron whispered to us.

"Let's leave them to it, come on, I'll show you guys my bedroom" We followed him through the stairs, and I asked.

"Are they always like this?"

"Dad fancies muggles, so he's always collecting stuff like that, it drives Mom crazy sometimes, and there's also the thing of that loophole in the law that he made, but yeah, most of the time, it doesn't seem to bother him." Ron said.

I got out of the conversation as the snap of a door closing scared me and made me jump. I looked to the sound and Harry was staring at a closed door.

"Ginny, you don't know how weird it is for her to be this shy, she never shuts up normally." Said Ron, I was kind of feeling down for that.

"Do people really think of me like that?" I asked.

"I mean, you're kind of a freak" Said Ron, Harry nudged him with his elbow, and Ron tried to correct himself, "In a good way obviously!"

"Don't worry about it, (Y/n), they're just amazed at how you dealt with the troll, that's all" Said Harry.

"Easy for you to say, people treat you like a celebrity, granted I didn't stop Voldemort twice in a row, but still..."

It was bad enough keeping a secret from them and my parents, now I found out the school thinks like that about me? I can already feel the anxiety building up in me, can't wait for everyone to stare at me at school...

Great start, and the school year didn't even begin.
