(Y/n)'s POV
Days flew by now that Harry was with us, he went from Ron's house to mine from time to time, my house and Ron's house were a bit far, but still, we finally got him to play videogames, and just to make sure Ron learned, I put him in charge of teaching Harry about them.
Harry seemed fascinated, and said.
"I've seen them before, Dudley has some, but he never let me play them, sometimes I couldn't even see him play or he would get mad." I just looked at him, and said,
"Don't worry Harry, you can play with it anytime you want, that's... that's what friends are for, right?"
"Yeah, besides, this game's easier when you play it with two people – bloody hell! –" Said Ron as he died in the game.
"I think you need less talking and more gaming, mate." I said between laughs, Harry laughed too, the few times he got to be in my house we spent them like that.
When my parents met Harry, Mom almost cried, and hugged him. Dad just looked at him with a puzzled expression that also had a bit of happiness in it.
"You look almost exactly like James," Said Dad.
"Yeah, though you have Lily's kind eyes, I hope you're not a troublemaker like James" Said Mom, laughing through the tears, and then they proceeded to tell him stories about his parents when they were in school.
Harry at times looked like he could cry any time, though that passed as he giggled at the stories of his parents. I was happy, it was one of the few times where Harry didn't have to worry about anything.
When Hermione found out what we did, she scolded us – or rather – scolded me for coming up with the plan, and kicking a man on the face, but what can you do? Nerves make you act without thinking sometimes, and even if she denied it, I knew she was glad Harry was safe now.
Little by little Harry's bones were less seen, which I was happy for, I still can't wrap my head around his guardians treating him like that, maybe they did deserve to be terrorised by Harry.
"I don't know why I have body aches..." He mentioned when he was in my house, Mom passed him a potion, and said.
"It may be because of the potions I've been giving you, it's a mix of an Invigoration Draught, a Vitamix Potion, a Wiggenweld Potion and a few nutrients I saw fit, before you say it, yeah, it's safe, I tried it on myself before I tried it on anyone else." She said, with clear pride in her voice.
"W-Why would you give him that for, Mom?" I asked, Harry looked a bit surprised at it.
"Well, he obviously didn't get any nutrients a kid of his age should get, so I had to do something, it helps with the growth he also didn't get because of not eating well, curse the Dursleys... Ah, sorry for my language, Harry." Mom had the tendency of talking a lot, at least Harry didn't mind it.
"Thanks, Mrs (L/n), it's the first time people actually care for what I eat and do, it feels nice, I wonder if my mom would've been like this too" Said Harry, Mom looked ready to cry at that, and hugged him.
"Don't even mention it, dear, we owe it to your parents, you'll always have a home here, even if my husband is the quiet type, he likes you too, and yeah, Lily was the type to worry a lot, if only you could've seen how much she worried for James everytime he landed on detention..." She drifted off, thinking about it, so I chimed in.
"The point is, this house is your house too, Harry, no need to thank anything" I said, with a smile.
—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few days passed, and I didn't hear anything from Harry and Ron, they lived practically like brothers at this point, which I was happy for, and I wouldn't tell them, as much as I enjoyed spending time with them, being with people outside my parents was tiring.
Not because I didn't enjoy the time with them, but it had something to do with my own energy I guess, I couldn't really explain it, it was worse when we were on the school though, so right now, I was with Hermione, we just finished a lesson on the most boring subject of all.
Herbology.
Mom really enjoyed it, I don't know why, Hermione didn't mind it, but finally the lesson was over, and I was happy with the quietness that also came with Hermione, not saying she was a quiet person, in fact, she loved to talk about the school work they left us, which we almost finished.
But strangely, I never got tired when spending time with her, maybe because we had similar stuff we liked, but the tiring feeling I usually got when dealing with people wasn't present with her.
"I can't believe the holidays are almost over, it seems time flew by." I exclaimed while I sat on the couch, while I was reading the recently received Hogwarts Letter with the whole list of new books.
"It was fun though, I never got to spend time with friends like this before, and now I got to study even more thanks to your parents. I think I like how your mom explains more than what your dad does."
"Thought you would, Mom goes more by the books than Dad, I think that's why I find that hers drag on more..." I said, yawning as I remembered mom's class.
"I think her teaching methods are fantastic, you should be grateful, (Y/n), not everyone has talented wizard parents to teach them these things." Hermione exclaimed, in her bossy tone that I was used to by now.
"Oh! That reminds me, since we got the letter from Hogwarts, my parents want to go to Diagon Alley next Wednesday, maybe we could all go together."
"That'd be awesome! You should send a letter to Ron, but maybe later, I think his owl could use some rest..." I said, looking with worry at the flock of grey feathers that was Ron's family owl, he looked like he went through a lot. I could have sworn I saw some bags under his eyes, if that were even possible.
I kept reading the letter, and the name of the author of the books was familiar to me, but I couldn't remember from where. I guess he must be someone decent if he has this many books.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few days before we all went to Diagon Alley, Harry came to my house, we chatted away for a bit, but I had a lesson, Potions to be precise. I thought Harry would be annoyed at it, but he actually seemed to like it.
"I didn't think you were the type to enjoy Potions." I said to him after we finished the lesson.
"Well, your Mom makes it more enjoyable, not that it's hard being more likeable than Snape, I just wish someone like your Mom was the teacher instead of him." He said.
"I mean, you don't have to pay attention to him all that much, maybe just focus on the class contents?" I tried to give a solution.
"You have him on your tail all year and then tell me if you can focus on the class..."
We talked for a bit more, and the topic of the Hogwarts letters came, he looked troubled for some reason, he tried to hide it but I could feel it.
"What happened, Harry?" I asked, he hesitated for a second, and then said.
"Have you seen the new list of books? I'm worried that Ron's family won't be able to get them all. I tried to give them some of my money, but they wouldn't take it."
I never really thought about it, but the Weasleys didn't have much, not to be mean or anything, but with how their house was, I could know that much, but didn't give it much thought.
I now get why Ron sometimes had his ears turn fully pink when he talked about his house or family, and I felt bad. I didn't want them to not have anything this year, while I was rummaging through my mind trying to think of something, an idea popped into my head.
"I know! You said they wouldn't take your money, right?" He nodded, "What if... what if it's already something they can't take back even if they want to?"
Harry didn't seem to understand, so I pulled him closer to me and whispered in his ear, he perked up and nodded enthusiastically, and we spent the day playing games until he eventually had to go to the Weasleys.
After a lot of talking about the plan I had with my parents, they understood where I came from, and Dad gave out a big sigh, and said
"You are your mother's son, after all, Phoebe was just like you when we were young," Mom looked a bit embarrassed at that, "Even now she loves to help everyone, even if she ends up losing things herself in the process, very well little man, we'll help with yours and Harry's plan."
"Let me just say this, (Y/n), I'm really happy you're growing up to be such an empathetic boy, never forget, love is the most powerful form of magic, don't let anything blur that out." Said Mom, as she ruffled my hair.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, the day came. I awoke early because it was time to go to Diagon Alley. We met a lot of times during the holidays, but still, it was exciting going back to that world, and this time not alone, with my closest friends.
We had breakfast, though I couldn't eat much. I never did as of late in the mornings, if I did I got nauseous, I don't know why, but I still fed Blaze with a match because I couldn't use magic due to the trace.
My parents ate fully, and then we left, this time without forgetting my jacket. I already knew we would stand out because of our clothes, which made me feel uncomfortable, but it was becoming bearable, I think...
This time, the road to Diagon Alley wasn't as long as before. We said hi to Tom, and got into that amazing world again. I was supposed to meet with Hermione, though I had no idea where she was.
"Don't worry, dear, she's supposed to be with her parents, and you know how Muggles dress compared to wizardkind, it won't be too hard to find them – Look!" Said Mom, pointing with her head, as she said pointing with a finger was bad mannerism.
In the waiting line of the white-ish building, Gringotts – that name still made me feel a bit hungry – were a family of three with normal clothes, the Grangers, standing out from everyone else, just like Mom said, though Hermione stood out because of her bushy brown hair.
We walked towards them, though I walked faster, Hermione and her parents didn't notice me, apparently she was talking to them – or rather – ranting to them about facts of Diagon Alley she read about, or at least I could make that out.
I was behind her, touched her shoulder and said,
"Hermione!" In a low voice, but she heard me, because she let out an 'eep!' and jumped, surprising her parents.
"Who?!-- (Y/n)!" Her face at first showed confusion and anger, but then her eyes softened up, and she hugged me, which surprised me, not that she hasn't done that before, but it's been a while,
"Why would you do that? It wasn't very clever" She said, with a puzzled expression on her face,
"Well... you scared me last year on my birthday, just wanted to get back to you a bit." I said, with a smile, she just laughed it off, and I turned to Mr and Mrs Granger.
"H-Hi!" I managed to get out, before my parents arrived, it was their first time meeting them, so I was nervous about how it would turn out, guess that I was worried for nothing, as Mom immediately used her weirdly convenient talent of knowing how to talk with people.
"Hi! We're (Y/n)'s parents, my name's Phoebe, and this right here is my husband, Salazar, you'll have to excuse him, he's a bit quiet when first meeting people, doesn't mean anything bad by it, he's just shy." Said Mom, quickly introducing Dad in a smooth way.
"Nice to meet you, as my wife said, I'm Salazar" Said Dad, with a bit of a monotonous tone, which made me laugh a bit, as he extended his hand stiffly to Mr Granger, and then to Mrs Granger.
"Pleasure to meet the parents of such a close friend of my daughter, I'm Richard." Said Mr Granger, as he shook my Dad's hand, and then Mrs Granger said.
"I'm Jean, from what I've seen and heard from my daughter, we'll be seeing each other a lot, I don't think their friendship will be a short one." She was laughing at the end of it, Hermione seemed a bit awkward at first, but quickly relaxed.
"No one's been giving you three a hard time here, have they?" Asked Dad, in a somewhat serious tone.
"No, or at least, we haven't really noticed." Said Mrs Granger, with the same puzzled face Hermione made when she was thinking of something.
"Well, if anyone does, tell my husband, he's an Auror, some people aren't too fond of non-wizards, they're stuck in the past if you ask me." Said Mom, looking a bit too proud at the word 'Auror'.
"Me and my wife are dentists, sorry for the question, but what's an Auror?" Mr Granger asked.
"Oh! Aurors are a highly trained law enforcement unit, think of them as the police, Dad, with the difference that they are trained to find and bring dark wizards into justice." Said Hermione, obviously happy she found the chance of explaining something to her parents.
"All right, I'll keep it in mind, do you have any telephone number we could– Oh, right, wizards don't use technology..." Said Mr Granger, but my Mom interrupted him.
"Don't worry about that, we're basically Muggles too, kind of a long story, but (Y/n) here had a life without magic up till pretty much last year, so we've got all types of technology too, here."
She pulled out her wand, grabbed a pebble, made some wand movements and the pebble transformed to a piece of paper, in which my Mom with her wand wrote the number of our house telephone, and handed it to them.
"Don't think I'll ever get used to this..." Said Mrs Granger, as she received the paper, my parents just laughed, well, Mom laughed, Dad looked more stiff than usual but smiled at it too.
Our parents chatted away for a bit, as we were in line for Gringotts, Hermione asked me some things.
"I suppose you haven't seen Ron or Harry, have you?"
"Nope, I thought they would be here, but I guess it's difficult to move when they're eight people, although... Harry always seems to get into trouble even when it seems like he's safe." I said, thinking of how he always got dragged into weird situations.
"Don't worry, (Y/n), I'm sure they'll find their way to us soon enough, surely they must be busy buying." She said, with that firm and somewhat confident tone she usually had, she had reason to have it, she was usually right and my thoughts were just that, thoughts.
"Look" She told me, making me look to where she was looking, "Harry! Harry! We're here!" and there I saw one of my closest friends, Harry Potter, even though we just saw each other a few days ago, but something else took my attention, aside from the fact that he was with Hagrid, was the fact he had spects of dust in his hair and more in his glasses.
"Hagrid?" I said, confused as to why he was with him and not with the Weasleys, Hermione ran towards him, and I did the same, when I reached him, I hugged him, and Hermione said.
"What happened to your glasses?" I didn't notice it, but they were full of some sort of dust, "Hello Hagrid, oh, it's wonderful to see you two again. Are you coming to Gringotts, Harry?"
Wonderful? I-I mean, I guess she's seen me a lot through summer, and saw Harry very little... What am I even thinking? I thought, as I made a puzzled face, which Hagrid took notice of.
"Yer okay there, (Y/n)?" I shook my head, and responded,
"Y-Yes! All good." I responded quickly.
"Well, I can't go into Gringotts yet, not until I've found the Weasleys, you won't believe what happened..." Said Harry, I looked at him tilting my head, and said,
"Mate, with you, I can believe anything you say to me..." Blaze came out of my jacket, and perched herself on my shoulder, which made me look over there. Hermione and Harry said hi to her, but she was focused on the noises that came from the direction she was looking at.
I looked, and saw a bunch of red hairs, I immediately knew who they were, and said,
"I think you won't have to look far, Harry." Next to us, a really tired Mr Weasley appeared, he was sweating a lot, with his face almost as red as his hair, and said.
"Harry... We hoped you'd only gone one grate too far..." He ran his hand through his sweaty hair, "Molly's frantic, she's coming now."
"Hi! How have you guys been?" I asked Ron and the others.
"We're okay, Mom just got a bit crazy when Harry mispronounced while using floo powder, where did you come out anyways?" Said Ron, I wanted to ask him what that Floo Powder was, but I didn't in the end because I was embarrassed to ask, everyone seemed to know about it, I'll ask Hermione later.
"Knockturn Alley," Said Hagrid, with concern in his voice.
"Knock-Knockturn Alley?" I asked, again confused with all these new names of stuff and places I didn't even know existed, before I could say anything, Fred and George said,
"Brilliant!"
"We've never been allowed in," Said Ron, with his eyes narrowed, he sounded a bit envious of it, but given Hagrid's reaction, I don't know why anyone would be jealous of being there.
"I should ruddy well think not," Said Hagrid, a bit upset apparently, and if his reaction from before wasn't enough to show that Knockturn Alley wasn't good to be in, this one did.
We heard another pair of legs running towards us, and saw Mrs Weasley, also panting, with Ginny next to her, hand in hand, they stopped in front of us, Ginny apparently was more used to Harry now, but the moment she saw me, she went to hide behind Mrs Weasley.
'Oh, come on...' I thought, apparently, I made a gesture with my face, because Hermione looked at me strangely, with the kind of face she made when she was thinking, but didn't say anything.
"Oh, Harry!" Said Mrs Weasley, panting heavily, "Oh, my dear, you could have been anywhere!" She said, with the warmth of a mother, pulling a piece of cloth and cleaning Harry who was covered in dust.
"Hi Mrs Weasley." I said, with a defeated tone in my voice, that helped continue that strange look Hermione was giving me.
"Oh, hi dears, didn't see you there." She said to us, I tried waving at Ginny, but stopped as I saw she was still hiding behind Mrs Weasley, only looking at Harry at times.
Hagrid left, apparently he had to buy some stuff for Hogwarts, and we all went to Gringotts, to the line again, as we were walking, Harry said,
"Guess who I saw in Borgin and Burkes?"
"Well... seeing how everyone reacted to you being in Knockturn Alley... was it Malfoy?" I said, Harry blinked at me, and said,
"Yeah, close enough, Malfoy and his father."
"Did Lucius Malfoy buy anything?" Said Mr Weasley, with worry in his voice, Harry quickly said he was selling stuff.
"So he's worried, oh I'd love to get Lucius Malfoy for something..." He said, sounds like bad blood between them, but it makes sense, considering he thinks they're faking the whole 'being controlled by Voldemort'.
Mr and Mrs Weasley shared some words, until we saw my parents talking with Hermione's parents, near the counter, they seemed more relaxed with another couple explaining how things worked, at least I'm happy they didn't feel that out of place.
"But you're Muggles!" Said Mr Weasley, with a loud voice, louder than anything else, which made me put my hands in my ears, "And you! Oh, Phoebe, it's been so long since I last saw you! We must all have a drink! What's that you've got there?"
I saw that Hermione's parents had money on her hands, probably Mom and Dad were helping them out and teaching them how to trade money for galleons.
"Oh, you're exchanging Muggle money, Molly, look!" Mrs Weasley had to practically drag him to go to their Vault, Ron's family and Harry went on, and we stood there, when Mrs Granger said.
"Is that what you meant when talking about wizards giving us a hard time?"
"Er, no, " Said Mom, "Arthur works in the department of the Misuse of Muggle artefacts, he's really... interested in Muggles, and how their lives work."
After that, we waited for Ron's family and Harry to come out, and Mrs Weasley said,
"We'll all meet at Flourish and Blotts in an hour to buy your school books"
Mom and Dad took Hermione's parents and went to the Leaky Cauldron, they looked at me and Harry, and nodded at us, we already knew what they meant, everyone else, except us four, went their own ways.
Mr Weasley went along with Mrs Weasley and Ginny to buy the robes they needed for the school year, although he wanted to stay and talk with Hermione's parents, Mrs Weasley gave him one look and he followed along.
We walked around Diagon Alley, and Harry and I bought us all ice cream, they got mine wrong, but I was too shy to ask them about it, thankfully, Hermione realised it and was able to tell them.
The hour flew by, and we found ourselves in Flourish and Blotts, there was a huge line on the entrance of the shop, I saw a sign but couldn't really make out what it said, Ron read it out loud, and it was some sort of Book sign from Gilderoy Lockhart.
"We can actually meet him! I mean, he's written almost the entire booklist!" Hermione squealed, now I know why I recognized the name, we barely managed to squeeze in, and as soon as we did, we all heard Mrs Weasley, yelling at the lady selling the books.
"What?!" She said,
"As I said ma'am, these books are all yours," Said the lady at the counter, that's when I saw that Mrs Weasley had a bunch of books beside her, many copies of Lockhart's books, and some first year books too.
"B-But, how? We haven't got enough for this many books," Said Mrs Weasley, with a bit of confusion and worry on her face.
"Don't worry about that, ma'am, they're gifts,"
"From who? Never mind that, we can't take them, can't you refund it to them?" Said Mrs Weasley.
"I'm sorry, we can't refund gifts, and the gifters told us they want to remain anonymous, enjoy the books!" Mrs Weasley looked really confused, but she had to take the books and put them on the cauldron she and Ginny had, Ginny, on the other hand, seemed overjoyed.
And so did Ron, who ran towards them, Harry and I just looked at each other, smiled, and nodded. Harry went over to Ron, and Hermione stared at me.
"It was you, wasn't it?" I looked shocked at first, and said,
"M-Maybe? Just... Can it be our secret?" I said, whispering, she looked sceptical at first, but quickly let go of that and said.
"I should have known, you're too obvious, and let me guess, Harry's involved too?" I nodded at that, "Well, if you ask me, I think that's very noble of you," And with that, we followed to where Harry went, we each had to grab a copy of some book with a weird name, and sneaked past to where the Weasleys were.
It made me anxious to just sneak by, but no one caught us, so it was all good. There was a circle formed with people around, and a table was in the front, with a bunch of moving pictures, and soon enough, a man came into view.
He had blond hair and blue eyes, wearing blue robes, the man, who I assumed it was Gilderoy Lockhart, also had a pointy hat, and with that I realised that every wizard dressed up with weird clothes.
All in all, he seemed like a pretty alright man, although Hermione was squealing with the other ladies, which was... a weird sight to say the least.
Some short and grumpy man pushed Ron over, and said something about the Daily Prophet, and that made Lockhart look at us, he seemed to think for a moment and then stood up, and yelled.
"It can't be! Harry Potter?" Suddenly, the whole crowd made way for the man, which put Harry on the spot, and also me, who was right beside him, to say I paralyzed would be an understatement.
Lockhart pushed me away and I nearly fell, thankfully Fred and George caught me, Hermione was too busy admiring the blond wizard, who took Harry by the arm, and dragged him near the table.
Harry looked really uncomfortable, I remember he told me he hated the attention once, I felt sorry for him. If I freezed just by being next to him, I couldn't even begin to imagine what being there must feel like.
Harry tried coming back to us, but Lockhart put an arm around him coughed to get everyone's attention, and said,
"Ladies and gentleman! What an extraordinary moment this is! The perfect one to make an announcement on something I've been sitting on for some time! When young Harry here stepped into Flourish and Blotts today, he only wanted to buy my autobiography" Did he? I can't really remember him saying all of that.
"Which I shall be happy to present to him, free of charge" He said, as he flashed a smile for a camera, "He had no idea that he would shortly be getting much, much more than my book, Magical Me. He and his school fellows will, in fact, be getting the real, magical me."
"Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have great pleasure and pride in announcing that, this September, I will be taking up the post of Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"
He sure liked to talk a lot, the whole crowd roared and Hermione next to me squealed, which made my ears hurt, Harry was finally able to come where we were, and we made our way outside the shop, until someone stopped us.
"Bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter?" It was impossible to mistake that voice filled with venom, who apparently wasn't done talking.
"Famous Harry Potter, can't even go into a bookshop without making the front page," I wanted to say something, but it's not easy when there's a lot of people in the room.
"Leave him alone, he didn't want all that!" said Ginny, she seemed full of determination, it was the first time I saw her talk besides her whispering to Mrs Weasley, which surprised me in a good way.
"Potter, you've got yourself a girlfriend!" Said Draco, which managed to shut Ginny up, making her go like a tomato.
"J-Jealous?" I cursed in my head, why did I have to stutter right now? In front of Malfoy? Stupid brain...
"What's that? Couldn't hear you, maybe you should learn how to talk first before trying anything." Said Malfoy with a sneer on his face, that made me look at him with anger, I was this close to just grabbing my wand, I wouldn't take any more of Malfoy this year.
"Oh, it's you," Said Ron, with a tired face looking at Malfoy like he was a stone in his shoe, "Bet you're surprised to see Harry here, eh?"
"Not as surprised as I am to see you in a shop, Weasley," Said Malfoy, his voice filled with venom, "I suppose your parents will go hungry for a month to pay for that lot."
Unfortunately, Ron apparently didn't know he got brand new books this year, so he marched towards Malfoy, Harry and I had to stop him.
"Ron! What are you doing? It's mad in here, let's go outside, "Said Mr Weasley, just getting to us with the twins, we were about to leave until I heard a voice that was far more intimidating than the others.
"Well, well, well, Arthur Weasley" Said a man who was as pale as Malfoy, with the same bleach blond hair, and cold eyes, but he looked much more intimidating than anyone else I've ever met, at least, the wizards I've met.
"Busy time at the Ministry, I hear, all those raids... I hope they're paying you overtime?" Without any shame, he reached for Ginny's cauldron, obviously expecting to take out something to humiliate them.
He was surprised when he took a new copy of A beginners Guide to Transfiguration.
"Well, at least you get paid well for being a disgrace to the name of wizard." Said, full of spite, now I kind of see why Draco acts the way that he does.
"We have very different ideas of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy," Said Mr Weasley, at that moment, Mom and Dad, alongside Hermione's parents, arrived.
"Yeah, some of us actually have our own mind, you got a problem with that, Lucius?" Said Dad, getting side by side with Mr Weasley, his eyes full of cold anger, I've never seen him like that before.
"If it isn't the greatest traitor of them all... How are you doing, Salazar? I see you're still tainting your name with that... half-blood," Said Mr Malfoy, but his voice sounded different when talking to Dad, as if he just got more careful with what he says.
"Got something to say, Lucius? I can't understand you if you talk like that, although... I would carefully choose my words here, I wouldn't want my son or his friends to listen to anything that comes from that nasty mouth of yours." Said Dad, reaching for his wand with no subtlety at all.
Mr Malfoy snarled, threw the book he took from Ginny's cauldron to where it belonged, and said,
"Take the book, girl, I can't stand one more second in this forsaken shop, they let anyone enter these days, from traitors, to..." He looked at Hermione's parents, and then at Hermione with such disgust that he didn't even need to say anything, and for the first time, his eyes met mine, who were burning now with anger too.
After that, Mr Malfoy left with Draco, although Malfoy's Dad looked a bit scared of Dad, I guess that goes to show he must've done something bad to fear him, Dad only goes after dark wizards, after all.
"Thank goodness you intervened, Salazar, I don't know how much more of Lucius I could've handled." Said Mr Weasley.
"No need to thank me, Arthur, he needs to be put in his place, he loves riling people up, that's the Malfoys for you." Said Dad, he talked with such familiarity that it was odd, but I didn't think much about it.
"Rotten ter the core, the whole family," Said Hagrid's voice, who we didn't notice arrive, which was strange, because he wasn't the most sneaky of people, "Bad blood, that's what it is. Come on now, let's get out of here."
The day went on uneventfully, the four of us spent some more time playing around Diagon Alley, and Ron was delighted to find out he had new books, in fact, he even seemed eager to read them.
Something about Malfoy's dad bothered me, the way he looked at Dad and me made me feel weird, like he also knew more about my family than even me, but that wouldn't be a surprise at this point.
I was starting to get annoyed at the fact that apparently everyone knew much more about my family than me, but I had to trust my parents, there must be a reason why they wouldn't tell me now.
I mean, there was a reason for them not telling me I was a wizard, so all I had to do was to trust my parents, right? They... they wouldn't keep important information for me unless it was necessary... right?
I went to sleep that night after feeding Blaze, but all I had in my head were seeds of doubt that slowly, but surely, were working their way into becoming something else. I should ask mom to tone down the Herbology lessons, she's got me doing plant analogy...
At least, Hogwarts was right around the corner, with any hope, it would be a distracting and peaceful year, at my favourite place in the world.
