Chapter 27 - Marvel 27

While MJ trained with Peter, Gwen approached Max. "Now that you've helped everyone awaken their powers, why don't you help me?" she asked.

Max nodded, acknowledging her request. Gwen's powers were unique—similar to Thena from The Eternals. She could create weapons with unparalleled sharpness and shields with incredible strength.

"Sure," Max replied. Then, turning to the others, he said, "Harry, Flash, Peter, MJ—I'll leave you all in Rize's care for now."

Rize, who had been leaning against the wall and almost dozing off, snapped to attention when she heard her name. She approached them, waving her hand to create blood-red ropes that quickly bound the group together.

"Hey! We're humans too!" Harry shouted in frustration as his face twisted in an exaggerated grimace, trying to resist but failing. The others were also bound, unable to move.

"Max and Gwen are staying here, so let's go train somewhere else," Rize said with a smirk, dragging them away effortlessly.

Flash, too scared to protest, remained silent. Peter and MJ exchanged glances, quietly watching as they were pulled away.

Now, only Max and Gwen remained in the training area.

Max turned his attention fully to Gwen after the others were dragged away. He could sense the potential in her powers—just like Thena, she had the ability to create formidable weapons and shields. But this was her first time really handling them, and he knew it wouldn't be easy.

"Okay, Gwen," Max said, standing in front of her. "Let's start with something simple. Try creating a basic sword. Focus on the shape and how it feels in your hand."

Gwen nodded, taking a deep breath as she closed her eyes. Slowly, shimmering energy began to swirl around her hand, coalescing into a glowing sword. The edges looked sharp, and it had a certain elegance, but Gwen's expression was strained.

For a moment, the sword flickered and then vanished.

"Ugh!" Gwen groaned, frustrated. "I don't get it. I'm trying to concentrate, but it keeps slipping away."

Max smiled gently, understanding her struggle. "It's okay. You're doing well for your first time. Your power requires mental focus and emotional control—more than most powers. Don't worry about getting it perfect right away."

Gwen sighed and tried again. This time, the sword formed a little faster, but it still wavered as she struggled to maintain her focus. Her frustration was visible as she tried to keep the weapon stable.

"Relax," Max said, stepping closer. "You're overthinking it. Think of it like an extension of yourself, not just something you're creating."

Gwen nodded, trying to take his advice to heart. As she concentrated, the sword became more solid. She managed to hold it steady for a few moments before it flickered again, her concentration faltering.

"See? You're getting better already," Max encouraged. "Now, try summoning a shield. Imagine the shield as something that protects you, something solid and dependable."

Gwen focused again, and this time, a round shield began to form in her other hand. It looked strong, but as she tried to maintain both the sword and the shield, her attention wavered, and both disappeared in an instant.

She groaned, feeling defeated. "This is harder than it looks."

Max chuckled softly. "It's only hard because it's new to you. You'll get better with practice. Don't be so hard on yourself."

Gwen nodded, though she still seemed frustrated. She closed her eyes again, determined to try once more.

"Okay, that's enough," Max said after some time. "For today, this is good progress." He gave Gwen a nod, signaling the end of their training session. Gwen let out a tired sigh and slumped down, sitting on the ground.

Max smiled as he handed her a bottle of water. "Here," he said gently, and Gwen accepted it, taking a few sips before nodding her thanks.

"I've already informed your family," Max continued. "You and the others are staying at my place tonight, so you don't need to worry about anything."

Gwen, clearly exhausted from the mental strain of controlling her powers, simply sat there for a moment. It was as if all the tension drained from her body at once, and she leaned back against the ground.

Within moments, she closed her eyes, and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep right there on the spot.

Max chuckled softly as he watched her drift off. "She's worked hard today," he thought, leaving her to rest, knowing she'd wake up refreshed for the next challenge.

Max then picked her in princess carry and then he dropped her off at the empty house among the many in his underground city.

Max gently dropped Gwen off, watching her sleep peacefully. As he turned to leave, Rize approached him. "The others went to rest, too," she said softly.

Max nodded. "Let them rest," he replied as he began to move toward his room. He felt Rize's gaze follow him, and when he looked back, he saw her lingering with a curious expression.

"Do you need something?" Max asked, raising an eyebrow.

Rize bit her lip before speaking. "Master, you said you'd let me drink your blood if I trained those idiots well," she said teasingly, her eyes gleaming as she licked her lips.

Max chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Alright, let's go back, and you can have as much as you want." Rize's eyes lit up with enthusiasm as she nodded eagerly. Together, they soon arrived at Max's home, entering the quiet and dimly lit space.

As they stepped inside, Max removed his shirt, exposing his bare chest and neck. "Come," he said simply, gesturing to Rize.

Without hesitation, Rize approached, sitting on his lap. Her eyes locked on his neck, her fangs gleaming slightly. Max controlled his omni-energy, leaving his neck exposed and vulnerable.

Rize's heart raced as she leaned in, sinking her fangs gently into his neck. A soft moan escaped her lips as she began to drink, savoring the rich and powerful taste of his blood. The sensation overwhelmed her, her mind going blank as the heavenly flavor took over her senses. She drank deeper, lost in the bliss of the moment.

Max remained still, allowing her to drink as much as she needed. He smiled faintly, knowing this was just one more part of their unusual bond.
