Chapter 31 - Marvel 31

Inside the facility, the air grew thick, unnaturally still. The guards exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what they were witnessing as the dark Abyssal Mist slithered across the floor, filling the room like an invisible predator. Their radios crackled with static, and soon, eerie silence followed. One of the guards took a hesitant step forward, peering into the swirling mist, only to stop as it coalesced before him.

A low growl rumbled through the air as the mist twisted and compacted into a fearsome shape—a massive black-furred dog. Its sleek form was both terrifying and unnatural, fur shifting as if the mist was still alive within it. Its glowing white eyes locked onto the guard, glowing with a malevolent intensity, as if sizing up its prey.

Terror gripped the guards. One reached for his weapon, hands trembling, but it was too late. The beast lunged, silent as the mist itself, and chaos erupted within the facility.

Max, standing outside, observed with a satisfied grin. The Abyssal Mist was no mere fog. It was his creation—alive, sentient, and bloodthirsty, waiting for his command. He watched as the panic spread, knowing the real nightmare had only just begun.

Outside the facility, Max stood calmly, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth as he leaned against a nearby tree. His eyes glimmered with satisfaction as he sensed the chaos unfolding within. The night air around him was cool, crisp, and serene—a stark contrast to the massacre taking place inside the Siberian Hydra base.

The Abyssal Mist was his perfect weapon, a hunter that needed no instruction, a force that operated on instinct and the predatory hunger that Max had imbued into it. He felt it moving through the ventilation system, spilling into every room, every corridor, like a shadow devouring all light. His connection with the mist allowed him to feel its every motion, every kill, as though it were an extension of his own will.

Inside, the Hydra operatives ran in terror, their attempts to regroup futile. Some fired blindly into the mist, but their bullets met only air or worse—sank into the shadowy forms that solidified within the fog. More creatures began to take shape from the swirling darkness: hounds with jagged teeth, serpentine shadows that slithered and constricted, and figures that resembled faceless men made of pure night.

Not only That..

[Host killed Sylans, and gained 1 UP]

[Host killed Ambrose, and gained 5 UP]

[Host killed Hans, and gained 1 UP]

[Host killed Aurai, and gained 1 UP]

[Host killed Razel, and gained 1 UP]

[Host killed Alex, and gained 1 UP]

Each kill also brought him Up, they were depended on the crime of the target he killed, which was plus in his tonight expedition.

Max felt the moment the first guard collapsed, choking on the mist as it filled his lungs. He smiled as more fell in gruesome succession. Some were ripped apart by the hounds, others crushed by the serpentine forms that slithered up their legs, tightening like living nooses.

'Yue, shouldn't I receive a reward for finding the secret function?' He asked his system.

[What secret Function? it's your fault you never killed anyone] Yue jabbed back as Max fell silent.

'Well, yeah' he thought to himself.

He knew Hydra, particularly the elite division operating out of this facility, prided themselves on their discipline and ruthless efficiency. Yet, in the face of his Abyssal Mist, all that training crumbled into panic. No one was prepared for an enemy they couldn't see, couldn't fight, and couldn't even understand.

Max casually inspected his surroundings, appreciating the quiet of the forest around him. The screams from the facility grew louder, then softer again, like music rising and falling in harmony with the carnage. Occasionally, he caught glimpses through the windows of shadowed forms dragging bodies into the mist, blood splattering the walls, creating nightmarish scenes that Hydra's best agents could do nothing to escape.

"This is what they deserve," Max mused, crossing his arms. "They meddled in things they couldn't comprehend. Now, they're part of the abyss."

The entire base was now a slaughterhouse, each corner filled with bodies either dismembered or drained of life, their faces frozen in terror. The once powerful Siberian Hydra facility was reduced to a crypt of shadows, all under the indifferent watch of Max.

As the final cries were silenced, Max pushed off from the tree and began walking slowly toward the entrance, his steps leisurely as if he were out for a stroll. The mist was already retreating, slithering back out through the vents, carrying the blood of Hydra's soldiers with it like a tide receding after a violent storm.

Max stopped at the door and tilted his head, listening. Only silence remained inside.

With a satisfied grin, he muttered to himself, "This is only the beginning."

Max stood at the entrance of the now-ruined Iberian Hydra facility, his gaze fixed on the vast underground structure sprawled before him. The once impenetrable stronghold was reduced to little more than a graveyard, haunted by the remnants of his Abyssal Mist. The last tendrils of the dark fog curled and swirled around his feet, obediently retreating as they brought forth the prisoners—Hydra's forgotten captives, victims of the organization's cruel experiments.

Max had discovered them deep within the facility, locked away in sterile, cold cells, their bodies and minds ravaged by the relentless tortures inflicted upon them. Some were on the brink of death, mere shells of their former selves, and others carried more subtle scars—unstable, broken, barely able to function. It was a pitiful sight.

Without hesitation, Max had used his power to heal them. He had restored the dying, knitting their shattered bones and torn flesh with ease, breathing life back into those who had nearly lost it. For the others, whose instability was the result of Hydra's twisted experiments, Max delved deeper, repairing what Hydra had broken, stabilizing their bodies and minds, erasing the toxic imprints left behind by the cruel experiments.
