Chapter 22 - THE MASTER’S SWORD

Bernard could only sigh in defeat as every word that came out of this youngster's mouth was plausible, "Yes you can use another weapon."

Turning to razor "Let's go get the master's sword"

Razor was worried and confused not knowing what to say, only responding, "Yes master" after seeing a nod from Laston, and then they both left the room.

Just as they left, Hilston turned to Bernard, "The young master is talented, a core one should not be able to draw out that much spiritual energy."

"I am not blind, I witnessed everything for myself but I am as speechless as you are, now you know that he shouldn't be underestimated, you should end thii"

"I am back," Laston cut in as Bernard was about to finish his words, entering the dojo he was with another sword in grasp, seemingly with an ominous smile and a little of dint worry written all over his face which didn't sit well with Hilston.

Not Knowing the capability of his weapon, he announced with a firm voice, "My master sword is not something you can withstand, please I beg of you, forfeit this match and leave, and I will act like nothing ever happened here today"

Bernard on the sideline was astonished at the sudden change in behavior, which led him to enter a very cautious state, "I will be able to stop the fight before anyone gets hurt or killed" he thought inwardly

Looking at the sword they had on them so far, his interest was piqued by the identity of the proposed master.

Hilston on the other hand had a frown as he felt looked down on, "I am core five which is four levels above you, if you think that because of that sword you will win, then you're gravely mistaken, I will show you my strength,"

Battle art, sword strike. He then swung his sword diagonally which sent four arcs of lightning towards Laston.

Seeing the thunderous lightning heading his way he was a little afraid, splinter who at this point was irritated and said in a stern voice, "No master of mine will cower in."

Just then Laston pulled his sword from its scabbard, and three ominous auras erupted from the sword, immediately, all lightning attack dissipated, and Laston then gave a slash of his own though half-heartedly.

Two of the auras seemed to be in an unstable state, as if a brawl of strength was taking place forming a miasma of red and white as they both clashed with each other, while the last aura quickly swung into action, ramming into Hilston, knocking him out instantly.

Laston then quickly sheathed his sword with reassurance from Castor that he had only applied enough power to knock Hilston out.

Bernard was left in a daze because all this event took place in a few seconds, which was enough time to react, but due to the shock of seeing the prowess of the sword in Laston's grasp, he couldn't move.

Being a sword master he quickly knew that the sword had a consciousness taking note of the way the auras were acting like they were alive, forgetting that one of his disciples had been on the receiving end of the spectacle that had just occurred.

Snapping out of his daze, he looked at Laston, "Did you kill him?!"

Laston then frowned, "No, he is not dead, I only knocked him out, his fine now pay up."

Bernard was lost for words, never in his life did he think a core one brat would knock out his number one student, but he wasn't a sore loser, with a glance at his disciples they all said in Unison, "We are sorry for troubling your servant."

Bernard quickly retrieved a pouch from his storage ring and tossed it to Razor, signaling his disciples to go carry Hilston, just as he proceeded to leave the scene he was stopped by a familiar voice.

"Stop! You can have the space, am done anyways," he said as he proceeded to walk towards the exit, but was stopped by Bernard.

"Young master, who might your master be?"

Stopping in his tracks he turned to Bernard, "I can't tell you that, but he is a well-known man, you should know that all that transpired here was under the supervision of my master."

"He doesn't like unnecessary attention so do well to keep what transpired here to yourselves or he might just pay you a visit, and like me? he leaves no traces behind."

He said as he glanced at everyone present then quickly left with razor sparing no time.

Looking at Laston from behind was Razor who had a worried expression on his face as Laston currently looked pale, even his steps were a little shaky.

"Hey are you alright?" razor asked in a worried tone

"Yeah, I am."

Laston responded in a groaning tone which worried Razor the more.

On reaching their inn, he fell to the ground unable to move, his skin glistened with perspiration as his vision blurred into darkness.

Meanwhile, inside one of the training grounds of the dojo, Bernard was lost in thought as he couldn't get his mind around which master Laston was learning under.

He couldn't imagine the rank a person would be, in other to watch him without him noticing, thinking of that sword made him terrified.

seeing the damage, it could do in the hands of a core one only made him imagine what the real owner of the sword could do with it.

Looking at his disciples who were now sparring in a half-spirited way, he then clasps his hands to draw their attention, then speaks in a serious tone.

"I know you all aren't happy about today, but in your best interest I would advise that you all keep what transpired here to yourselves in order not to offend whoever is behind that young master."

They are powers you cannot afford to offend, instead of creating an enemy out of them it's more beneficial to be on their good grace

"That's why we should all get stronger so that we won't be suppressed," Hilston said cutting in on the perp talk as he stood up from his slumber.
