Chapter 27 - DEAL

On entering the shop, they could see Elder Blitz who wore a broad smile, "took you long enough to realize you still needed my help,"

"then that means you know our predicaments already, Lynx asked for certainty.

Lemme guess, you need something that will help you hide from the outburst of mana calculation right?

"Yes, we do" Lynx responded, "so do you happen to have any treasure that could reduce or hide his outburst?"

hmm, he struck his jaw as he pondered on the treasure that could pull off what they wanted, "well I do have a talisman that could suck up any ounce of spiritual energy in his body."

"you do?" Laston asked surprisingly

"Of course I do, but it's going to cost you, if you are willing to agree to my proposal, you could take it free of charge Elder Blitz said shortly after with a shady smile.

"What do you propose," Lynx inquired with raised brows

"At the end of the day, you will be in front of so many experts so no matter the treasure I give you with enough experience anyone could see through it, my proposal goes thus, if you happen to be in a situation where you are to choose a faction, I want you to choose the phantom cutters sect as that is my sect." Elder Blitz maintained a calm yet stern gaze.

Taking some time to ponder, Laston turned to Lynx with a flustered gaze seemingly uncertain, "I don't think there is anything to be unsure of as we would still have to choose a faction and his action so far has been plausible.

"Yes I accept," Laston responded moments later

Elder Blitz nodded in affirmation "Then it Is a deal. Out of all the treasures I have in my arsenal I can only think of one that could pull off something similar to what you want.

"It is called the confinement talisman it is used to restrained imprison criminals, cultivators, and magicians alike, its primary function is to drain all kinds of mana present in the body leaving them in their mortal state,"

but all that energy doesn't just disappear they are channeled to another talisman where the energy is either dispelled or stored, Elder Blitz said as he retrieved two rectangular boxes.

Simultaneously opening them, two rectangular boxes and two talismans could be seen neatly arranged in the two boxes one having a golden hue while the other was pitch black.

The black one goes on your back I won't be adding an array formation around it so you can put it on and take it off at will as you're not a criminal.

The other talisman will exude with your energy in any proportion you release it, so you need to contain it, unfortunately, I don't have that sort of treasure, but you can leave here I will take care of the energy

"any energy taken from this talisman will be dispelled in equal proportion from the other one right" Laston asked looking at Elder Blitz for confirmation "Yes that's the gist of it?"

intending to retrieve the golden talisman Laston looked at Elder Blitz for confirmation which he nodded to.

Retrieving his sword from his spatial bracelet he wrapped the talisman around the handle of the sword, "that solves our container problem, doesn't it?

"Yes, yes that settles it, ha-ha-ha aren't you the smart one," Elder Blitz laughed

"then that settles it." Bowing slightly they all left the shop.

"What now," Laston asked

"With that out of the way We leave for the royal capital tomorrow," Lynx said with a resolute expression.

The trio proceeded to head to the inn where they had had their dinner, going through their plans once more they decided and retire to the warm embrace of sleep.

"Mmmm," Laston yawned loudly as he woke up from his slumber feeling invigorated with a new sense of direction.

"How long are we gonna stay on the road this time?" laston asked

"That depends on how fast the carriage will travel, on foot it should take around a week and a few days, but now we are nobles so we would have to travel as such," Lynx responded faking a weird accent.

Ha-ha-ha, Laston burst into a loud laughter, "Why the hell do you sound like a stuffed pig, don't tell me we would have to talk like that when we get to the loyal capital as that will make me laugh at my every word.

Of course, you don't have to talk like that, you already know the first thing about nobles it won't be much of a challenge as you have quite the acting skills.

"Yeah, I do, selfish, cocky, arrogant, prideful, and acknowledgment-seeking bastards," having encountered a lot of nobles during his stay in the fortunes gate city his hatred for them grew more.

"For someone who hates nobles this much, you tend to forget that you're one yourself, probably if your dad hadn't done whatever he did, you too could have been a cocky, arrogant, prideful, and acknowledgment-seeking bastard."

Lynx smiled after his statement as he could see Laston's face which was contorted with a frown after hearing it.

No way in hell would I have been like those ill-mannered, impolite, boorish, and rude individuals gallivanting and flaunting their status as nobles.

Suddenly they both heard a sound, following the sound which happened to be coming from Razor who held his stomach with both hands, looking at the duo with a gloomy face.

For someone with a small frame you sure do have an appetite, Laston said recalling their dinner last night

"You don't know of the saying that when you eat more at night it increases your hunger the following day" Razor responded in his defense.

"Oh, does that mean your dinner should be rationed?" Lynx quickly chimed in with a malicious smile

on hearing that silence befall the room, but not for long as Laston and Lynx burst into Laughter. By now it was already a known fact that Razor was a being of insatiable appetite, it was so much that they wondered how he was able to survive for so long.
