Chapter 53 - Shinsou x (M)Y/N

boy x boy (if you want girl version it is next)

The autumn chill danced through the streets of Musutafu, painting the landscape in hues of burnt orange and golden brown. The trees swayed gently in the breeze, their leaves fluttering like the last whispers of summer. It was Thanksgiving, and this year marked a significant milestone for Y/N and Shinsou. It was their first Thanksgiving together as a couple, and they were heading to Shinsou's home to meet his family—Aizawa Shota and Hizashi Yamada, along with his younger sister, Eri.

Y/N could feel the excitement tinged with a hint of anxiety as they walked hand in hand with Shinsou. The warmth of Shinsou's grip was comforting, but they could sense the tension radiating from him.

"Are you okay?" Y/N asked, looking up at Shinsou, who was unusually quiet.

Shinsou sighed, his gaze shifting away for a moment before locking eyes with Y/N. "Yeah, just… nervous," he admitted, scratching the back of his head. "I haven't told my parents that I'm dating a guy. I didn't even tell them I like guys."

Y/N felt a pang in their heart for Shinsou. "You've got this, Shinsou. Your parents love you. They'll understand," they encouraged, squeezing his hand tighter.

"I hope so," he muttered, but the uncertainty lingered in his eyes.

As they approached the quaint house—a cozy structure adorned with autumn decorations—Y/N took a deep breath, ready for whatever awaited them inside. They knew the day was bound to be filled with laughter, love, and perhaps a sprinkling of chaos, typical of a family gathering.

When they stepped inside, they were greeted by the rich aroma of roasted turkey and freshly baked pumpkin pie. Eri came bounding towards them, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Shinsou! Y/N! You made it!"

"Hey, Eri!" Shinsou replied, a genuine smile creeping onto his face as he knelt to embrace her.

Y/N couldn't help but smile at the sight. Eri's energy was infectious, and it calmed a bit of Shinsou's nerves. Just then, Aizawa peered around the corner, a towel slung over his shoulder and a look of mild surprise on his face.

"You two are late," he remarked in his trademark monotone.

"Sorry! We got a little caught up!" Shinsou said, glancing at Y/N with a sheepish smile.

"Next time, leave earlier. You're not going to get any pumpkin pie if you keep this up," Hizashi chimed in, his voice bright, contrasting Aizawa's demeanor. The lively hero appeared as if he were made from sunlight, and Y/N felt instantly at ease.

The dinner table was beautifully set, adorned with colorful autumn leaves and the centerpiece of a golden turkey, surrounded by an array of dishes that made Y/N's mouth water. They all gathered around the table, and as they prayed to express gratitude, Y/N stole a glance at Shinsou, who was eyeing his parents with a mix of apprehension and determination.

The meal began, laughter filling the air as stories were shared and plates were passed around. Eri showed off her drawing skills, illustrating a recent adventure from their training sessions at U.A., and even Aizawa cracked a rare smile at her enthusiasm.

Then came the moment that Shinsou had dreaded most. As the conversation turned to future plans, Hizashi turned to him, a cheeky grin on his face. "So, Shinsou, any special someone you've been hiding from us?"

Y/N felt their heart race as Shinsou's expression stiffened. "Uh, well… actually, there is," he stammered, looking flush. The room fell silent, eyes turning toward him with curiosity.

Hizashi leaned in, his smile growing wider. "Oh? Do tell!"

Shinsou took a deep breath and, with a glance at Y/N for support, said, "I—I've been dating Y/N for a while now." His voice was steady, yet the tremor in it revealed how vulnerable he felt.

Y/N's breath hitched in their throat as they sensed the gravity of the moment. They squeezed Shinsou's hand under the table, urging him on.

"Um, and… I really like them. A lot." He finally finished, a wave of relief washing over him as he could no longer hold back.

A silence enveloped the dining room, the air thick with anticipation. Aizawa's eyebrows raised slightly, a hint of surprise etched into his features. Hizashi's eyes lit up. "Well, isn't that just fantastic! Y/N, welcome to the family!" he beamed, reaching over to pull Y/N into a warm embrace.

Aizawa shifted in his seat, his eyes softening as he looked over at the pair. "As long as you make each other happy, that's what matters. Just… don't distract Shinsou too much from his studies," he added with a flicker of a smirk.

The tension evaporated like steam rising from the feast, laughter breaking out again. Eri clapped her hands excitedly, "Y/N, you can join my hero club!"

Y/N felt a warmth bloom in their chest, the sense of belonging washing over them. The day turned into an evening of stories, games, and newfound bonds, with Shinsou stealing glances at Y/N, his nervousness replaced by joy.

As the night slipped into a tapestry of shared moments, Y/N realized this Thanksgiving wasn't just about the food or the holiday—it was about family, love, and the courage to embrace who you truly are. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, hand in hand.
