TW:CHAOS, VIOLENCE, APPERANCE, DRAMA, FIGHTING!
Y/N noticed the clenched jaws and darkening expressions as the conversation turned to family legacy. She exchanged a worried glance with Shoto, silently questioning whether tonight would go as planned.
"Enji, you can't dictate Shoto's entire life," Dabi said, his voice sharp and unyielding.
"He's my son, and the bloodline must continue!" Enji barked back, his eyes burning with frustration. "He should take his responsibilities seriously!"
Y/N felt the air grow thick with tension as their argument escalated. This was not what she had envisioned for their Thanksgiving dinner. As the voices rose, Dabi leaned back in his chair, his trademark smirk betraying a hint of satisfaction. Y/N felt herself begin to spiral as Enji's demands echoed through the house, crushing the spirit of what was supposed to be a joyful gathering.
Then, something shifted in Rei. She stood silent for a moment, overwhelmed by the chaos, and tears began to stream down her cheeks. Y/N's heart fractured at the sight of Shoto's mother breaking down. She couldn't stand it any longer; the tears had to stop.
"Enough!" Y/N shouted, her voice commanding attention. In an instant, her quirk activated. Her eyes blazed a bright crimson, her hair igniting into a vibrant light red, and from her back sprouted magnificent wings. Horns adorned her head, and a demon tail flicked behind her, flames licking the air. Everyone fell silent, the transformation mesmerizing the room with an energy both terrifying and powerful.
"I won't let you dictate Shoto's life, Enji!" she declared, her voice steady but fierce. "He deserves to make his own choices, to carve his own destiny. You don't own him!"
Dabi's smirk widened, intrigued and amused at the sight of someone standing up to their father. Fuyumi and Natsuo were taken aback, the quiet girl from earlier transformed into a formidable presence. Rei, though initially taken aback, gazed at Y/N with gratefulness seeping through her tears.
Shoto's shoulders relaxed; he felt a wave of relief wash over him as Y/N took control of the chaotic storm that threatened to engulf them all.
With her newfound confidence, Y/N continued, "And just so everyone knows, Shoto and I are dating. I'm not going anywhere, and I won't let anyone tear us apart." The proclamation hung in the air, palpable and poignant.
Enji opened his mouth to retort but found no argument. The harshness of his past beliefs crumbled under the unwavering truth of Y/N's words. For all his flaws, he knew as a father he had to grapple with the realization that change was inevitable. Dabi chuckled softly, tension breaking in his example of a brotherly bond twisted with sibling rivalry. For a moment, laughter crept into the room.
Though the resurrection of family chaos still simmered under the surface, it was also spiced with acceptance, joy, and the promise of unity. Fuyumi's cheerful interjection broke the silence, leading her siblings away from the discomfort, while Dabi dusted off his hands, grinning, and began to regale the family with tales of his survival due to All For One and his escapades with the League of Villains.
By the time Enji, burdened with hero work, departed, the warmth of the Thanksgiving spirit was rekindled. The remaining Todorokis gathered around the table, laughter echoing as they shared stories and memories, the chaos woven into their collective tapestry of love and resilience.
As Y/N settled beside Shoto, he took her hand, gratitude shining in his mismatched eyes. The world outside might be harsh, but inside the Todoroki family home, they would forge ahead together, no bloodline would dictate their future, only their unwavering bond.
