Chapter 7 - Halloween movie day 7

It was the seventh day of the Halloween movie marathon in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, and excitement crackled in the air like the impending chill of October. Aizawa, their usually stoic homeroom teacher, had taken it upon himself to select the evening's film—a decision fueled by a mixture of mischief and mild revenge. The previous marathon, orchestrated by Tokoyami who had chosen the spine-chilling "Annabelle," had concluded with a chaotic scene. Denki, Mina, and Sero had donned creepy doll costumes and chased their frightened teachers around the dormitory, their laughter echoing through the halls until Aizawa, with his trademark scarf, had managed to capture them in a brilliantly executed surprise tackle.

Tonight was different. Aizawa had planned his retribution perfectly, choosing "The Purge" to elicit maximum terror from his unsuspecting students. He could already envision the looks on their faces during the jump scares, especially since he had a special plan in store for Shinso. Before the movie began, Aizawa pulled him aside and instructed, "You're dressing up as a Purge character. I want you to jump out during one of the scarier scenes."

A smirk graced Shinso's lips, the thrill of the prank thrilling him. "Got it, Sensei," he replied, disappearing for a moment to assemble his costume.

The room was dimly lit, with a messy array of snacks littering the coffee table—popcorn, candy, and enough chips to feed a small army of heroes. Students from Class 1-B had joined in, the atmosphere buzzing with camaraderie and excitement. Aizawa's sharp gaze darted around the room, noting the nervous glances exchanged among his students. He couldn't help but smirk; the anticipation of the chaos he was about to unleash made him feel giddy.

As the movie began, the haunting soundtrack filled the room, and the tension built. Gasps and squeals punctuated the soundtrack of flickering images on the screen. The students huddled closer together, a mix of anxiety and excitement brewing amongst them. Aizawa kept a keen eye on the unfolding drama while subtly preparing for Shinso's entrance.

Just as the third intense jump scare echoed out from the screen, Shinso burst forth from the shadows, fully decked out in a typical Purge mask and cloak. His outfit was convincing; the mask's eyes glowed eerily in the dim light as he lunged dramatically toward the unsuspecting group.

The reaction was instantaneous—screams erupted like cannon fire, mixing with laughter and chaotic shouts of surprise. Mina's shriek pierced the air, causing Denki to jump up and nearly spill his popcorn everywhere. Sero's reflexes kicked in as he tried to retreat backward but instead stumbled into the couch, sending a flurry of chips flying.

Aizawa, holding his phone at the ready, captured everything—the chaos, the terror, and the quickly unraveling calm. He recorded a good solid minute of hysteria before finally putting the phone down, a satisfied grin creeping onto his lips.

As "The Purge" came to its end, darkness enveloped them, still heavy with the remnants of their jump scares. Aizawa turned the lights back on, silencing the room—except for the sounds of collective heavy breathing, hearts still racing from the film.

With a mischievous glint in his eye, Aizawa gathered Mina, Denki, and Sero in front of the rest, pulling up the video of their reactions as the movie hit its most frightful moments. The trio flushed with embarrassment as they witnessed themselves jumping, gasping, and in Mina's case, nearly leaping into Sero's arms amidst the sheer fear.

"Do you see now?" Aizawa said, amusement laced in his voice. "Maybe you will think twice before scaring your teachers with dolls again."

Sero shook his head in disbelief, his cheeks a bright shade of red. "Okay, okay, we get it! No more creepy dolls!"

Denki buried his face in his hands, while Mina groaned, "I can't believe I screamed so loud!" Laughter erupted from the rest of the students, the prank having transformed into a shared experience rather than a point of shame.

Aizawa leaned back, satisfied. The spirit of Halloween had taken hold, and the fright now complemented the joy of camaraderie that they shared. As the students began to relax, plans for another movie night were quickly made, their fears transformed into laughter and a welcome reminder that every scare often leads to a shared bond afterwards. Aizawa contemplated what he might select for the next movie—after all, revenge was a dish best served with a side of horror and a sprinkle of laughter.
