Chapter 9 - Halloween movies day 9

It was the ninth day of Class 1A's Halloween movie marathon, and the anticipation in the air was electric. The students had split into groups, each with their own themed night of spooky flicks. For today's gathering, Bakusquad—the chosen team for dark vibes and even darker snacks—was ready to dive into the sinister side of Halloween.

The classroom was transformed into a ghastly haven. Dim lights cast eerie shadows on paper cutouts of ghosts and bats fluttering from the ceiling. Sero had brought a stash of black and orange streamers, draping them across the chalkboard and windows while Kaminari set up a projector, ensuring the screen was all set for their horror-packed evening. They arranged mismatched chairs, creating a cozy yet foreboding atmosphere, perfect for what lay ahead.

As the finishing touch, the group laid out a mouthwatering spread of spooky snacks. Ghost-shaped cookies, gummy worm dirt cups, and bubbling cauldrons of colorful punch bubbled alongside bags of popcorn that were seasoned with everything from butter to "graveyard garlic." Bakugo, arms folded and scowling, begrudgingly tasted one of the 'cursed' snacks—until he found it surprisingly good. Still, he couldn't let it show.

"Dumbasses, focus!" he barked at the group, cutting through the enthusiastic chatter. "Let's get this over with."

Sero grinned, not phased by his friend's grumpiness. "Alright, guys! Let's kick things off with a classic: Dark Night of the Scarecrow!" He started the projector, and the moody music began to play, setting the stage for an evening filled with tension and thrills.

As the movie began, the room filled with gasps and nervous laughter. The flickering shadows on the screen paired eerily with the decorations around them, and the atmosphere grew heavier as the tension built up. Mina leaned into Kirishima, eyes wide, while Denki let out a high-pitched yelp when the first scare appeared on-screen.

"Dude, are you serious?" Bakugo snapped, barely hiding his own fear under layers of bravado. He knew showing any semblance of fear would mean never living it down. But as the plot unraveled, Bakugo couldn't help himself from getting dragged into the chaotic emotions alongside his classmates.

"Just wait. He doesn't even see the scarecrow coming." Sero teased, trying to hold in his laughter, knowing Bakugo would take it as a challenge to his tough-guy persona.

And then it happened. The climax of the film struck, and the jump scare landed like a punch in the gut. A collective scream erupted from the group, followed immediately by Bakugo's furious exclamation, "What the hell?!" His voice boomed through the room, causing everyone to burst into laughter despite the tension.

"Oh come on, Bakugo!" Mina giggled, pointing a finger at him. "You're supposed to be the scary one! Why are you screaming like a ghost?"

Bakugo glared at her, but it was hard to maintain his frustration when everyone was having such a good time. "Shut up!" he barked, but it lacked any real bite.

The movie continued, and laughter melded with screams as the plot twisted further into nightmarish territory. Every loud thud and sudden movement made them jump in their seats, and Bakugo found himself cursing not just at the characters on the television but also at the very existence of jump scares as if they were personal attacks.

When the credits finally rolled, the group erupted into cheers, hooting and high-fiving each other. The feeling of camaraderie was palpable; they had survived the dark depths of a horror story together.

"Alright, for the next one, how about some classic, you know, actual horror?" Sero suggested, still energized from the thrill.

Bakugo crossed his arms and smirked. "As long as it's not another one of these weak scares." His bravado was back, but inside he knew he might have enjoyed the thrill more than he cared to admit.

"Sure thing!" Eijiro agreed, feeling accomplished. "But you can't shout 'what the hell' at the screen next time, alright?"

"No promises," Bakugo shot back, his trademark smirk still lingering as they cleaned up the classroom, gearing up for round ten of the marathon. With the Halloween spirit in the air and fun banter flying between them, it was shaping up to be an unforgettable Halloween season. The Bakusquad was ready for more, more scares, and definitely more laughter.
