Ava's hands were shaking as she dialled the number of her trusted source, a high-ranking official in the police department. She knew she had to get the evidence to someone she could trust, before the church's henchmen caught up with her.
"Hello, Chief?" she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "I need to see you, urgently. I have evidence of a massive conspiracy involving the Church of Eternal Bliss."
The chief's tone was skeptical, but Ava knew she had to convince him. "I have documents, records of transactions with shell companies, cash payments to unknown individuals... it's a money-laundering operation, and it goes all the way to the top."
