Ava was whisked away to a new location, a safe house on the outskirts of London. She was exhausted, but her mind was racing with questions. Who was behind the threat? And what did they want from her?
As she settled into her new temporary home, Ava began to feel like a prisoner. She was surrounded by police officers, but she knew she couldn't stay here forever.
The chief arrived shortly after; his expression grim. "Ava, we need to talk," he said, his voice low. "We've received another threat, and this one is more specific. They're saying they'll take out anyone who gets in their way, including the police officers protecting you."
Ava's heart sank. She knew she had to get out of this situation, but she didn't know how. The chief's words only confirmed her worst fears.
"What do you mean?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I mean that we need to take drastic measures to keep you safe," the chief replied, his eyes locked on hers. "We need to go undercover, Ava. We need to make them think you're no longer a threat."
Ava's mind was reeling. She knew she had to trust the chief, but she was scared. She feared what might happen if she went undercover.
But as she looked around the safe house, she knew she had no choice. She had to take a risk, no matter how small it seemed. She had to try and uncover the truth, no matter what it took.
