Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The unexpected ally

Ava was taken aback by Rachel's sudden change of heart. She had always thought of Rachel as one of the church's most loyal members, but now it seemed that Rachel was willing to betray the church to help Ava expose the truth.

"What made you change your mind, Rachel?" Ava asked, her tone cautious.

"I've seen the hurt and the suffering that the church has caused," Rachel replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've seen the way they've used people for their own gain, and I've had enough. I want to make it right."

Ava was still wary, but Rachel's words seemed sincere. She decided to take a chance and trust Rachel, at least for now.

"Okay, Rachel," Ava said. "What do you know about the church's financial dealings?"

Rachel leaned in, her eyes darting around the room nervously. "I know that they're using offshore accounts to launder money," she said. "I know that they're involved in human trafficking and other illegal activities. And I know that Pastor Certain is at the center of it all."

Ava's heart was racing as she listened to Rachel's words. She knew that she had to get this information to the authorities, but she was also aware that she was taking a huge risk. If the church found out that Rachel was helping her, they would stop at nothing to silence them both.

"What's your plan, Rachel?" Ava asked, her tone urgent.

Rachel hesitated, her eyes flicking towards the door. "I have a plan, but it's risky," she said. "Are you sure you're ready for this?"

Ava nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She was ready to take down the church, no matter what it took.

"I'm ready," she said, her voice firm.

Rachel nodded, a determined look on her face. "Then let's get to work," she said.

Together, Ava and Rachel started to hatch a plan to bring down the church and expose the truth to the world. But as they worked, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, that the church was waiting for them to make their next move...
