Gordon sighed as he watched Tyson walk away, Tyson reminded Gordon of himself when he was much younger.
"He's got a ways to go when it comes to social skills"
Gordon thought to himself as he picked up the briefcase that held the artifact.
Gordon felt a little bad knowing the current situation is only getting worse he was really hoping this artifact could help them with the emperor cranking down on kingdoms even harder now life only got worse, but Gordon's saving Grace was his son The only thing he had left.
"I wonder How he's doing with that squad he's been positioned with"
Gordon thought.
But of course he could not let his mind get full thoughts that could not be answered right now he had to deliver the artifact, so he stood up dusting himself off, and grabbing the artifact as he walked out of the tavern.
It was a bit late at this point but the older knight didn't mind, in all honesty he had gotten used to it. Gordon smiled as he passed One of the bakeries. It seemed like the woman who still worked there was trying to clean up from earlier today.
"working late?"
Gordon asked
"Just trying to clean up from today had a incident happen but it's fine"
the woman replied as a young boy with a blue bandana hid behind her.
"Is there anything I can do to help"
Gordon asked as he gave a smile towards the woman and boy.
"I'm about done now you know what. You can take the twelve leftover loafs over to some of the guards, oh and of course keep one for yourself"
the woman insisted.
"I can't possibly do that I'm sure you can reuse that bread"
Gordon replied.
"Not really"
the woman responded as she let out a small chuckle as the small boy held tightly to her leg.
"Well if that's the case I have to take the bread I suppose, however here take this for the boy"
Gordon said as he handed over a small looking short sword that seemed to be more of a practice sword.
"Oh really I've been struggling to get any items like that for him, I know he wants to be a knight one day but with everything going on it's been hard"
the woman said as she had tears in her eyes.
Gordon accepts the bread putting it in a small basket as he kneels over to the boy,
"One day you're going to be big and strong and you're going to protect your mother and this whole city so don't be shy"
Gordon told the boy as he stood back up and held the briefcase in one hand in a basket full of bread in another.
"Stay safe Gordon"
The woman said
"You too"
Gordon replied as he walked past the small bakery heading towards the castle he had a bright smile on his face as he thought about many things.
As Gordon got near the castle he saw three guards. Of course he recognized One of them as his son so we gave a smile and a wave as he walked over.
"Leon, are you doing well?"
Gordon asked the knight in front of him.
Leon had brown hair That was cut short he had droopy ears and a messy uncleaned tail but his armor looked heavy. It was silver and a mix of iron with a giant wolf on it.
"I'm doing fine, Father,"
Leon replied as the other two guards stood at attention.
"What about you, Iris, Jaxon?"
Gordon asked the other two guards who had on the same armor as Leon, Iris was smaller and had blackish hair with small ears and short tail while Jaxon had red hair and pointed ears with a long tail that dropped to the ground.
"I'm A little tired sir but I'm fine"
Iris replied
"Perfect at least I am"
Jaxon responded.
"That's good to hear," Gordon said with a chuckle.
"I'm assuming you're bringing the artifact back?" Leon asked
"Yes I am son"
Gordon replied.
"I wish we got to go on missions like that"
Iris commented.
"It's not all that is cracked up to be"
Jaxon mentioned.
"Before I forget to here this bread is for you"
Gordon said as he handed over the 12 loafs
wrapping them in some kind of bag as he handed it over to Leon.
"That's bread from the bakery…"
Leon mentioned.
"Only the best,"
Gordon replied.
"Super yummy!"
Iris yelled out.
"Do you have to yell?"
Jaxon asked as he looked right at Iris, as Iris didn't even respond he wasn't really paying attention to her comrade.
"Just make sure you guys eat"
Gordon said as Leon gave a nod, however before Gordon could even continue there was a pause as he saw not too far away a wounded guard running towards the four of them with all his might he pushed forward as blood was dripping out of nearly every part of his body he continued to run right towards them, yelling.
