The next morning, Charlotte woke up feeling anxious and unsure. She had never seen Wesley so angry before, and she didn't know how to process what had happened.
As she got dressed and made her way to the kitchen, she realized that Wesley was nowhere to be found. She asked the staff if they had seen him, but no one seemed to know where he was.
Charlotte's anxiety grew as the day went on. She tried calling Wesley's phone, but it went straight to voicemail. She even went to his company, hoping to find him there, but Rachel just shrugged and told her that Wesley was probably fine.
"He's done this before," Rachel said, her voice calm. "He'll turn up when he's ready."
Charlotte was taken aback by Rachel's nonchalance. Didn't she care that Wesley was missing? Didn't she think it was strange that he had just disappeared without warning?
