Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Siblings 1 (Turiga woningu!!

( Trigger warning, depictions of child abuse and bullying )

High in the Sky, higher than even above the clouds,a bright red carpet with gold runic engravings on its edges floated stationary as a man wearing a dark blue military coat, with black buttons and golden cufflinks, the wrist of the coat were cream white, which contrasted well with the black button up shirt underneath, he wore black ironed trousers with leather shoes.

His bright blue eyes stared below and his short black hair swayed in the wind. On his left hand he held a thin sword, one that could easily be mistaken for a rapier.

Jumping up from the carpet, it quickly rolled itself and shrunk to the size of a cigar before he tucked it in his blazer pocket as his body descended to the ground.

'My fall from this height should get her attention'

He thought as his body reached terminal Velocity causing him to reinforce his body using his internal mana(Im).

As a warrior, he didn't have the ability to cast spells so he could only use his mana to reinforce and enhance his body, although to reinforce weapons would require him to refine his mana to a greater degree.

As he fell faster and faster he couldn't help but smile, if he manages to cripple Reniella here then the sword tournament will be his to win.

"It seemed like things are going well for the Dreyer family, this just might be our year'

The blight of the family was erased and that alone improved the family's reputation and quieted the voices that had began to doubt the Royal family, however the fact of the blight having existed will still sour the family's position for quite a bit.

'hopefully the next child born in the family won't be like that blight'

He thought. It will also be helpful as well if he manages to get his hands on Dawn as it will solidify the royal family's position for another 5 years.

It took little time for him to land and just as he expected, the landing was akin to a boulder dropping from the sky creating a loud explosion like sound and causing the entire area to shake violently.

Dust was kicked up in the air before it slowly descended back down.

As the dust slowly floated away with the wind Eon laid eyes upon the individual and his eyes widened in both shock and awe, memories resurfaced in his mind.

...

The Dreyer kingdom like any kingdom was ruled by a monarch and that monarch is always required to be from the lineage of the Hero king as the kingdom itself was birthed from the kingdom that the Hero king founded.

Of course since the royal family is descended from the Hero king, they are a powerful bloodline, not just by virtue of being descended from such a legendary figure but because the royal family always gave birth to exceptional individuals, whether by strength, by magic or by mind, in each generation there will be at least one such individual who's exceptional above their peers.

Naturally this created a belief that is followed and enforced within Dreyer kingdom without exception and that belief is "Blood birth's right"

A belief that staunchly asserts that one's blood is the determiner of not only their strength but is also the determiner of their nobility, since the blood of the Hero king is superior to all others due to his immense accomplishments in the past that means his descendants have a right to the Dreyer kingdom's throne.

Because they are descended from such a powerful lineage then it's only natural that there'd be exceptional individuals within such a powerful bloodline. This created a criteria for nobility.

To be a noble you must descend from a figure that contributed greatly to the formation of the kingdom or descended from a figure that had notable accomplishments in the war against the demons during the Hero king's war against the demons.

The significance of the achievement will be equal to your noble rank

The second criteria, was that all nobles are required to be able to wield magic, you cannot be a descendant of a great historical figure if you don't wield any form of magic and that means you are a peasant that does not deserve such a status

Essentially magic = strength and strength = strong bloodline, so if you don't have strength that means you aren't from a strong bloodline.

Of course peasants are also able to wield magic however because they are not related to any historical great figures they cannot be nobility.

However if one is smart and crafty enough they could pretend and receive a noble title but if it is found out they're a pretender then their whole family will be executed.

So unless you have the balls and have nothing to lose, then one is free to try such a trick.

With such a way of thinking, one can easily imagine what happens when a child from a house that's supposed to be from the strongest bloodline is born without talent for magic.

"What are you waiting for you peasant, eat it"

The voice of a child no older than 9 years old, spoke with an unhidden malice, their tone betrayed the fact that he was speaking to his blood brother.

The name of the child was Sigmund Edmund De Dreyer, black haired boy with pale blue eyes, he had a slightly big nose that stuck out and a noticeable overbite.

"but …I"

The fear stricken eyes of a child no older than 8 years old, looked back and forth between the pile of worms and dirt on his bandaged hands and the menacing, threatening eyes of his older brother.

"If you don't want me to burn your skin off again, Eat it!"

Flames emerged from Sigmund's hand, they burned with a threatening aura, one that reminded little Nathaniel of the searing pain of the week before this one.

"not unless you want me to burn you?"

The older brother asked, a sick and twisted smile showed itself on his face, a sadistic expression that should not belong to the face of a child, yet it did.

'mama, why did you leave me?'

Such a thought echoed in the child's head, wishing that in her death, his mother should have taken him with her.

With fear of being burned, he swallowed his saliva and simply shoved the entire thing in his mouth.

"Chew it"

Commanded the brother and with no small amount of hesitation, the young Nathaniel did as he was told, his stomach churned in disgust as the taste of dirt mixed with worms assaulted his tongue with its horrid flavour.

"Swallow–"

"Sigmund!"

A stern yet feminine voice called out to Sigmund who frowned at the disturbance of his play time.

"What?!"

He turned and saw a tall woman with bright blonde hair and deep cobalt eyes, her face held an incredible beauty. However since she was his sister he did not see that or rather he was still too young to notice such a thing, she wore a knight's armour and held a bow on her right hand.

"Father wants to see you, you brat"

She said, a bit displeased at how disrespectful the younger brother responded but chose to not chastise the boy.

Hearing that his father was calling for him Sigmund quickly dusted himself off and scurried along leaving Nathaniel with still a mouthful of dirt and worms.

He looked at his older sister who in turn walked towards him.

"What are you looking at, brat?"

She asked but before he could answer, a swift slap to the jaw caused him to spit everything out of his mouth before everything went black afterwards

A/N; nearly didn't write this because I felt it was a bit too cruel, plus I actually had to scale the abuse down a bit as I couldn't handle writing something like that. Hope you enjoyed, leave a comment
