He believes she can take all these guys by herself but he wants to join in, she can't have fun by herself and besides what kind of man would he be if he didn't defend his friends and what kind of dragon would he be if he didn't protect his treasure.
"Got a death wish, buddy? where do you get off to attacking our friend like that"
"Where does he get off touching me without my permission?"
"Bitch I wasn't talking to you"
The adventurer shouted and got closer as to appear more intimidating but his attempt was laughable as neither Eon or Reniris felt threatened.
"Ooo scary! I'm shaking in my boots right now"
Eon teased, his face showing a fake look of fear and horror but it was clear to everyone in the room that he was anything but afraid. This act of mocking only fueled their anger or at least it looked like it did.
"Quit fucking yapping and attack us if you're going to attack us"
Eon demanded and stomped his foot on the floor and waited at the ready, since they laughed at his declaration before he was more than ready to throw down with them and prove them wrong.
Well of course he had no idea if he truly was the strongest, but he was sure that no one inside the guild could contend against him, with the exception of Reniris.
"ENOUGH!"
A loud voice boomed in the guild immediately calling attention to itself and forcing the adventurers to look at the person who spoke.
A man walked down the stairs that led to the office of the guild master, his skin was black, and he had short buzz cut hair, a scar ran horizontally across his nose and his eyes were a lighter shade of brown.
He was wearing a long sleeve shirt and loose trousers with sandals. All the adventurers in the room sat down as soon his presence was revealed. Having descended the stairs down enough to see the new faces he spoke.
"You two, come with me".
"Why exactly should we do that?"
Eon asked, a bit confrontational, while Reniris looked at the man with a curious gaze, she found it odd that the adventurers listened to him despite seemingly being the type to not listen to authority, she supposed he must be strong.
"You want to be an adventurer, don't you?"
They nodded to his question and he gestured them to follow him up the stairs and they obliged, as the two assailants disappeared with the guild master, an adventurer spoke up.
"You know I actually have a quest I still need to finish"
With those words said he then ran out the guild as fast as he could, others followed suit and gave their own excuses as to why they could not stay in the guild any longer and all left their "comrade" Alexander slump on the floor passed out
...
"You have a lot of nerve to challenge Alexander like that little lady"
The man informed as he sat on top of his desk, the room he had led the two in was a small room designed to look more like an office, with a single desk and chair.
"Nerve has nothing to do with it, I gave him a warning and he did not listen"
Reniris stated and crossed her arms as she spoke, her gaze scrutinised the man before her.
Eon on other hand silently walked towards the window behind the desk and looked outside before muttering words like "cool view" something that made Reniris and the man raise a brow in confusion before continuing their conversation.
"That statement tells me you're new here and don't exactly know the pecking order"
The man said as much while he grabbed a piece of paper reading it as he talked and fully made himself comfortable on the desk and fully sitting on it like it was a chair and displaced some of the documents on top of it.
"Pecking order shmecking order, you said you're going to make us adventurers so we're waiting"
Eon spoke, as he now was seated comfortably on a chair beside Reniris, who could only look at him curiously.
"Well you'll do well to–"
The man stopped himself as he looked up from the paper he was reading and saw that the young man was now occupying his chair.
"Kid, that's my chair"
"Ok"
Eon responded as he looked the man straight in the eyes with a deadpan expression on his face.
"That means I sit on that chair"
"Yes I know, but this is the only chair in the room, I am not standing up for the duration of this conversation so…"
"I'm the guild master you know"
"And that is not an excuse to not have chairs for guests in your office"
Eon countered, and the guild master could only look at Reniris.
"You've got quite the companion"
He made an observational statement, and Reniris could only shrug her shoulders at his statement. The man let Eon take his chair, plus He, himself, was already comfortable sitting on the desk, so it was fine.
"My name is Samuel, and as I said, I'm the guild master of this city's adventurers guild."
Sam, the guild master informed, before taking two pieces of paper from the desk and handing them to Reniris and then giving one to Eon.
"Technically speaking I'm supposed to give you a whole spiel about the rules and your obligations to the kingdom as adventurers but I don't feel like doing that, so just read those papers for a few minutes and get the gist of what's expected from you and then follow me for the combat test"
Samuel explained as he got off the desk and went towards the window and looked at the outside view, letting the two read through the abridged version of the adventurers' rule book.
For the most part, he assumed the two people in his office entered the city illegally without paying a fine.
Plus, it was obvious that they did that because the princess blocked all exits and entrances in the city, so the only way to enter was to jump the fence or use flight magic.
He didn't really care. After all, a majority of adventurers in this city were criminals or former Bandits or Bandits, so adding two more suspicious individuals was barely a drop in the bucket.
It's the same reason why the rules are loosely followed and why he had to make an abridged version of said rules to at least have the adventurers that sign up in the city know the bare bones of the rules when they go to other cities
Looking outside through the window he could see the knights patrol, supposedly keeping the city safe, the Princes will leave eventually and the city will return to the state it usually is and the very knights will turn back into the scum that they usually are.
