Chapter 8 - Match 1: Gādo Vs. Gasuto

The day of the Shinobi Conference was here. Kei-Kei and Shintawa went to the building that led to the tournament arena, waiting for the rounds to start. A staff member approached them.

Staff: "Your matches aren't here yet. Go to the side where you contenders watch."

He directed the two of them two an alcove by the arena where several others were. They took a seat and looked at the arena. The lights shined down onto the arena and the announcer began his act.

Announcer: "Here we go folks! Ladies and gentlemen from all around Han'ei stand up from your seats! Match 1 of the Shinobi Conference is here! On the right we have the runaway of the Kumo Clan, the Renegade Cloud, Gasuto Kumo!"

Gasuto, the all to familiar swordsman, who was the reason Kei-Kei and Shintawa were even participating, walked into the arena. A confident smirk plastered over his face. He held up a fist, exuding confidence.

Announcer: "Aaaand on the left side, it's the Purple Lightning, the Storm of Death, and the Michi Clan's Prodigy in Lightning, Gādo Michi!"

From the left entered Gādo Michi. His katana's sheathe had a purple lightning pattern along it. His gi, which was purple and black, was also covered by a purple kimono with lightning patterns. His hair and eyes were purple, and his hair was tied up in a man bun.

A gong was hit, ringing out the start of the match. Gādo stared Gasuto down. His expression was laid back. Holding out a hand, Kami no Chikara pooled throughout his whole body. The white Kami no Chikara forming to mimic purple lightning. The secret technique of the Michi.

Gasuto's smirk widened as he made his Kami no Chikara mimic wind. The gusts coating his now unsheathed katana. Gādo then unsheathed his katana, purple lighting crackling upon the blade's metal. He pointed the electrified blade at Gasuto.

Gādo: "Lightning Strike."

Gasuto: "Huh-"

Gādo, in less than a second, appeared with a bolt of purple lightning, his blade clashing with Gasuto's already raised blade. Gasuto readied a swing, however Gādo dissapeared in a flash of purple sparks. Gasuto looked around for Gādo, however he was struck by a kick to the spine.

The blow was at lightning speed, cracking the vertebrates of Gasuto's spine. Gasuto was shot flying out of the arena almost immediately. Gādo had won in less than five minutes. And with no concept of difficulty. Kei-Kei and Shintawa's jaws were on the ground.

They had no idea that such powerful warriors would be here. Gasuto, who had soloed a Global Government Unit, was easily wiped by Gādo Michi. Gado walked back into the door he came from, whereas Gasuto was carried out.

Kei-Kei: "Holy..."

Shintawa: "Wha- All that talk and neither of us get to fight him!?"

Afterwards in the intermission between matches Kei-Kei and Shintawa were biding their time. The second match was the first one that Shintawa was going to fight in. Shintawa was polishing his katanas to a shine. Anticipating his upcoming fight.

Nerves were shooting throughout him, but he kept composed in front of Kei-Kei everytime he looked over. He took a deep breath eventually and sheathed his katanas. He stretched his arms and legs a bit before cracking his back.

He sat on a pillow and put his hands together to do some meditation. He did so in order to ensure that his Kami no Chikara pools were flowing. Once he felt his Kami no Chikara was at a good enough readiness, he heard the intercom come on. He was called towards the door he'd exit from.

He stood there, until he heard the speakers starting up. The fanfare outside the door also reaching his ears. The announcers loud voice was broadcasted and the second match was nearly about to start.

Announcer: "HELLLLLLLOOOOO!!! As you all know, last match was rather short with Gādo Michi absolutely dominating Gasuto Kumo! But let's hope we get our Dizens worth with this one! Welcoming, from the right side of the arena, the Two Bladed Swordsman, the Rodin Mystery, Shintawa Rodin!"

The door opened and Shintawa walked out onto his side of the arena. Both katanas were at his hips and he walked calmly. He heard Kei-Kei cheering for him from the special viewing area and smirked. Even Dasizai and Keyati made it to the crowd. Dasizai making Keyati cheer as per usual.

Announcer: "And now, on the left! We have an elusive fighter! His moniker heard of by many! The Icy Death, the Frozen Blade, and the Hoarfrost Harbinger! Give your applause! Let loose the cheers! Bring it on! Yuki Shimo!

From the left doors, a cold aura was felt. From the doors came a male. He had light blue hair like Shintawa and blue eyes. Though, he wasn't a Rodin. He wore a dark blue sweater underneath a light blue winter parka. Jeans on his legs and snowboots on his feet. His katana's sheathe had intricate designs of ice and snow.

As Yuki Shimo stepped onto his side of the arena, his expression was emotionless. Ice cold. It sent shivers through Shintawa. Shintawa assumed his fighting stance, unsheathing his katanas. Yuki did nothing. He stood there, ice cold, no emotion. Shintawa suspected behind that mask, was immense power.
