Chapter 10 - Kei-Kei Vs. Nami Bāsuto

Kei-Kei walked onto the arena, the crowd roaring in excitement to see the next fight after the hype match that was Yuki vs. Shintawa. The speakers turned on and the announcer made his voice heard as he began to call for the start of the fight.

Announcer: "WELCOME BACK WELCOME BACK!!! Now we move on to the next fight! The right side has the Half-Oni Swordsman, the Heavenly Wannabe, Kei-Kei Mishimura!"

Kei-Kei took some deep breaths, his hoodie blowing a bit from the wind that made it's way into the arena. He spotted Keyati and Dasizai in the crowd, feeling more at ease with their eyes on him. Shintawa wasn't watching however, still having to recover.

Announcer: "And next up, the Wave Of Blades, the Sea of Beauty, the one and only Sword Dancer of the Deep, Naaaaamiiii Bāsuto!"

From the left side exited a woman. She wore a blue and white gi, black leggings covering her legs. She had nothing covering her toes or heels, granting more freedom of movement. Her blue hair with white highlights flowed like water. On her katana was a pattern of waves. She was as gorgeous as the sea under sunset.

Nami drew her katana and smiled at Kei-Kei, she gave him a thumbs up, seeming upbeat. Kei-Kei looked a little surprised, compared to Gādo and Yuki, she seemed nice. He returned the thumbs up and drew Mochi from its sheathe.

Nami: "Let's have a good fight, mmkay?"

Kei-Kei: "Yeah! Let's go!"

Nami and Kei-Kei had a similar temperament. Despite the fact they were going to fight and compete like hell, they had a mutual childlike wonder to new experiences, provided such experiences weren't life or death.

Nami jumped towards Kei-Kei and met blades with him. She smirked at him as their katanas were between them, before the jumped, in somersault, over Kei-Kei. She kicked him in the back, but he quickly recovered, punching her with his left fist. Nami smiled and flung her katana into the air, assuming a fist-to-fist stance.

She threw a chop to Kei-Kei's hip, but he grabbed it and pulled her in, attempting to headbutt her. She bent her body in a way that was almost like liquid, throwing off Kei-Kei before she kicked him in the gut, sending him back. He coughed and bit, however he ran at her and placed an overhead swing.

But, Nami's katana fell just as he did so, nearly hitting him. That threw off his swing, thus Nami caught Mochi's blade between her palms and managed to flip it from Kei-Kei's hands. Now, both of them were without their blades. Kei-Kei went for a punch, but Nami dodged almost like a flowing current. Then, she returned a palm strike in kind, like a crashing wave.

Kei-Kei coughed up some spit, but he channeled Kami no Chikara into the spot she struck in his midsection, allowing him to take the hit. He clenched his left hand into a fist, while his Dakuenaji couldn't reach the level it did against Barahoshi, it was still an alright amount.

He struck Nami in her right cheek, sending her reeling backwards. She rubbed her cheek and had an almost wonderous smile. She was clearly having fun. She ran past Kei-Kei towards her katana. Kei-Kei realized this and did the same, grabbing Mochi. They had both grabbed their weapons.

Nami began releasing her Kami no Chikara, and almost instantly, water formed on his katana. Kei-Kei's eyes widened, surprised at the sight. Nami smirked and rushed at him. She let out a katana uppercut, the blade not touching him but rather the water. It rushed to Kei-Kei and thus, he was knocked upwards into the sky.

Nami created an upwards waterfall to propel herself upwards, then once she was above Kei-Kei she raised her katana upwards. Water built up at the tip of her blade and she slashed downwards, creating a crashing wave that slammed Kei-Kei into the ground.

Kei-Kei's body took quite a lot of damage, however thanks to his left side regenerating, he managed to keep going. As Nami was coming down, he grabbed a rock that formed when he crashed into the arena and charged it with Kami no Chikara in his right hand, then Dakuenaji with his left.

He then, with his left arm, threw it with immense force towards Nami. She tried to react, however she was hit in the gut. This knocked her off course and caused her to also crash to the ground. She nearly landed out of bounds, but she got lucky with where she landed.

She clenched her fists and concentrated her Kami no Chikara into them, creating a layer of high pressure water around her hands like gloves. She lept at Kei-Kei and performed a double palm strike, hitting him quite hard. However, he took the hit and dished back a punch fuelled by Dakuenaji, which had increased in strength due to the pain he was in. Negative feeling and emotion fuelled Dakuenaji after all.

She took the punch to her gut, however she kicked Kei-Kei in the leg, dealing damage back to him. She than struck him in the face. He then responded by grabbing her, however with her water-like flexibility she maneuvered out of his grasp. She chopped him in the neck, making him go limp.

However, just as it seemed Kei-Kei was done, a surge of Dakuenaji slammed his body, causing him to immediately get up and deal a feral punch to Nami, fully propelling her backwards. His mouth was foaming, his right eye had the purple glow of his left. His Oni half seemed to spread throughout his body.

Kei-Kei eventually calmed down, not knowing what just overcame him there. He looked towards Nami, who wiped the blood from her mouth. She clenched her fist around her katana, finally using it again. Kei-Kei grabbed Mochi and began to walk towards Nami.

She delicately stepped opposite to him. They were orbiting one another. Until, they both ran at each other, clashing blades. The sparks came off from the slash. They then began picking up speed. Sparks were so frequent it was nearly blinding, but the two kept going. However, Nami's katana eventually shattered. Her eyes held a look of disbelief, that was up until she realized Mochi had a special carving in the blade.

One that belongs only to a Legendary Armament. An unbreakable weapon with a special effect for specific functions. She was never going to win in the long run unless she hit Kei-Kei's body, however she hadn't done so. She thought Mochi was a normal blade, so she could break it. Now, she was unarmed. Only her fists and Kami no Chikara.

He put her hands together, water began flowing around her. She then separated her palms and clenched her left fist. The water gathered and concentrated around it. Strengthened by Kami no Chikara and the water, her left arm was now a very powerful tool. For one attack at least.

Nami: "Hey, Mishimura, sheathe your katana. Let's clash fist-to-fist."

Kei-Kei: "Seriously? Alright, bet!"

He sheathed Mochi and began concentrating Dakuenaji into his left arm. Once ready, both of them sprinted forwards and with immense force threw their left arms at one another. The fists clashed, and Nami's punch won over the Dakuenaji, blowing off Kei-Kei's left arm. However, he wasn't worried. It could grow back after all. And using his unique physiology, he prepared the round winning blow.

He clenched his right fist and poured every drop of Kami no Chikara into it. Then, he threw the arm into Nami's face. Despite her skill, she was preoccupied in the punch she just blew his left arm off with. Thus, she was hit in the left side of her face by Kei-Kei, and she was sent barreling backwards.

She put everything into her last punch, so she couldn't stop herself. She went out of bounds, ending the match. The announcer came on the mic.

Announcer: "AND THAT'S THAT!!! KEI-KEI MISHIMURA MOVES ONTO THE SEMI-FINALS!!!"

Nami got up and looked at Kei-Kei. She put a weary thumbs up to his direction and she had an accepting smile on her face. Kei-Kei returned the gesture. After he left the field, his left arm finished regenerating. He was met by Shintawa, who had left early to catch the finale of his fight.

Shintawa: "Nice fucking job Kei-Kei!"

Kei-Kei: "Hehehe! thanks Shintawa!"

Kei-Kei and Shintawa went to the nursing section, both of them being injured this time around. So they went to get patched up. The next round would be the fourth and final match of the first round. Of the eight contestants, Gādo, Yuki, and Kei-Kei had won. And the final fight was to determine who would join them as the next victor.

The audience was ready for when the intermission would end and they could bear witness to the finale of Round 1 of 3 in the Shinobi Conference. The battle between two relatively unknown swordsmen. Honō Udon Vs. Misuto Ha.
