The car ride felt extremely suffocating. Castiel said nothing as he drove us to the ranch, only speaking to Reese when she asked him a few questions, but remaining quiet if I tried to join in.
This was what I wanted—space—and he was giving it to me. So why didn't it feel right?
The trip was set to take place at Rustling Meadows Estate, located about an hour's drive from Mayfair. Castiel chose to drive us so we could arrive early. I wasn't sure what to expect since I'd never been there before, but a few images I found on social media were oddly enticing.
When we arrived and pulled into the garage, Castiel got out first and opened the door for Reese, unstrapping her from her car seat.
"Yay! We're here, Mummy!" she squealed as Castiel scooped her up into his arms.
