SASUKE POV:
It was another day of boring academy classes. At this point Naruto and Sasuke had taken to doing pen fights in the back of the class. Sakura had told them multiple times that they should sit and take notes as this would all end up important in the future. She had proceeded to chase them both when they had called her a nerd.
Today's class was even more boring than the others to him for no reason, probably because Naruto had already slept along with Kiba, Choji and Shikamaru.
As any bored child would do, he scanned the class, trying to find someone not asleep and also not a fangirl. He saw that Hinata Hyuga was just staring out of the window, looking very bored.
Now, he had nothing against her, but she was, in a word, weird. Ever since that one time when He, Sakura and Naruto had stopped her from getting bullied, she would faint anytime he would go near her and could barely even hold a conversation with the other two. He figured he might as well see why, considering the fact that the lecture would go on for at least 45 more minutes so he scooted over to where she was sitting.
HINATA POV:
Hinata was feeling extremely sleepy right now. She had been staying up till late at night training in the hopes that maybe she would be able to gain her father's acknowledgement.
She was going to nod off when she heard a "psst" sound from her left. She turned to see none other than Sasuke Uchiha, the crush of almost every single girl in the class including her.
"Please don't faint" he said as she blushed madly.
"I-Is there any way I can h-help you?" She stammered out.
"I was just bored and saw you were free so I came" he shrugged.
"W-why me?" she asked.
"Well, you're not annoying like them" he said, gesturing towards the fangirls who were glaring at Hinata "and your actually strong so I figured You'd be the best person to talk to considering all the guys are asleep and Sakura is in her nerd form" He said.
She blushed when he called her strong but said "I'm not strong. I can't even defeat..." but she trailed off, not wanting Sasuke to think of her as pathetic.
"Well, you're clearly putting in the effort, I can see the roughness of your hands which comes from hitting a training post for so long. Maybe I could spar with you, I have nothing better to do and sparring with you would help me too".
"I wouldn't be a challenge for you. I've been training for so long but I can't improve" she said sadly.
"Well, maybe you should train in something else." He said with a shrug.
"I-I can't do that. It would be going against the traditions of the Hyuga clan" she almost shouted.
"Hmm. Well, I've sorta been in your position. As an Uchiha I was expected to have fire as my primary nature, but my primary nature ended up being lightning. Can't do anything about it but work around it right?"
"Gentle fist is taijutsu though. It doesn't depend on chakra nature" she pointed out.
"Taijutsu can depend on your chakra nature actually. Like for example, the Uchiha interceptor fist is actually dependent on fire style, I guess the ancestors just presumed that we'd all have fire style as primary nature"
"I don't know much about all this. We'll ask Naruto he should have more knowledge about all this." Sasuke said, as the lecture ended and everyone started getting up. "As matter of fact come eat with us right now, we have nothing better to talk about so might as well"
NARUTO POV:
Naruto had been dreaming about a world made of Ramen. He had been about to dive into the ocean which was Ramen broth when he was abruptly woken by Sasuke.
"THE RAMEN DATTEBAYO!" he yelled, looking at Sasuke angrily.
"We'll get you some Ichiraku's Naruto" he said much to Naruto's delight.
"Hmm. Well as far as I've read and seen most Hyuga have rock natured chakra affinity. It's crucial for the gentle fist since you gotta be rigid and stuff. My guess is that your dominant chakra Nature is one of your parent's secondary nature." Naruto said as he took a chakra detection slip out of his pocket and handed it to her.
"W-Water!" she whispered as the paper turned damp,
"Well, I'm sure your clans gotta have some variation version for those whose primary affinity ain't earth" Naruto said.
"I doubt it" Sasuke said "There was no variation for the Interceptor style. I guess big shot clans like the Uchiha and Hyuga are too prideful to even consider anyone not doing the exact same thing as everyone else"
"Well, what was the move you were tryna get anyway dattebayo?" Naruto asked.
"I-I'm not supposed to tell Non-Hyuga's." she said, looking down.
"Hmm. Meh it's fine, Clans don't wanna tell everyone their secrets I guess"
"Well, if you want I can teach you a move which SHOULD work using water chakra." Sasuke said, his hand suddenly covered in a slightly red glow.
He moved his hand slowly towards a tree, and to Hinata's surprise the tree broke in a 1 inch range around his hand. When he stopped and took his hand back she saw that the area which had broken due to the red aura was slightly charred.
"The concept is that you control the flow the chakra of the affinity, in my case fire, in your hand. Once it reaches its limit, it will start overflowing, resulting in that aura. It was actually him who created this technique but Me and Sakura were able to refine it so as not to waste much chakra" Sasuke said gesturing towards Naruto who was eating his lunch with gusto while Sakura walked towards them with both of their lunch boxes.
"Try it" Sasuke said encouragingly to Hinata, who tried to overflow her hand with chakra until slowly but surely a blue aura started forming. She tried to punch a tree but was stopped by Sakura.
"Water and Earth aren't really offensive, so you won't be able to create the same effect. You can however, do this" Sakura said, creating her own aura around her hand before placing her palm on the tree's surface. Nothing happened for a second before the tree suddenly split apart with great force.
"Since most living things are made of water, all you have to do is put in some of your water chakra into them and you can manipulate the water in them how I did with this tree for it to explode."
"It took me 2 years to reach that level by the way, I'd recommend spilling some water and trying to control it using this method to make patterns or travel in a specific way." Sakura instructed, throwing some water on the ground and then making patterns like stars on the ground using water droplets.
"W-What is this called?" Hinata questioned timidly.
"I named it Ryou, cuz it's the most simple and fancy way of saying the word flow" Naruto said with a grin.
"Heyy, I just got an amazing idea. You should join us in training, god knows we need another girl who isn't a fangirl" Sakura said with a smile.
"Another? Where's the first one?" Naruto said before being pummelled to the ground by Sakura
And so Hinata joined them in their personal training sessions.
