Around noon, in a forest near Mount Frypan, Akira was sitting on a flat rock, his eyes closed.
Not far from him was the body of a dinosaur, probably a T-rex. Stepping on the body, as if it were an object, was Chi-Chi.
As they entered the forest, Akira was wary of killing animals in front of the girl, but it didn't take long for him to notice that she was used to it.
Chi-Chi spent her entire childhood at the foot of Mount Frypan, and she had seen her father killing animals and even the thieves that came from time to time. Whether it was good or bad, the girl had already gotten used to it, in fact it had never been strange to her.
"Why are you meditating?" Chi-Chi asked curiously, then jumped off the dinosaur's body and landed on the ground.
She couldn't help but be curious, after all it seemed quite different from what she expected from a martial artist. Her father was the only and greatest example of a martial artist for her, so she expected to see Akira training his muscles just like him.
Akira's eyes slowly opened, a calm expression on his face, then he said "A strong body needs a strong mind, or else that power will go to waste... Did you see how I finished off that dinosaur?"
If it were just anyone, Akira would give a short answer, not caring if they understood him, but Chi-Chi is someone special.
He had been thinking about it for the past few days, ever since he decided to come to Mount Frypan, Chi-Chi had good potential to be a fighter, but ended up just being a housewife after marrying Goku. Akira wanted to see more of Chi-Chi as a fighter, so he decided to encourage her to pursue the path of a fighter.
Hearing Akira's question, Chi-Chi placed a finger on her forehead and said in an uncertain tone "That purple glow that came out of your fingers?"
He nodded gently, then said unhurriedly "That was a Ki attack" He showed the palm of his right hand, and above it appeared a purple sphere.
As the girl looked at the energy in awe, Akira continued his explanation "All living beings have Ki, which is the life energy for us. Our bodies use Ki at all times, but an extremely low amount..."
As he spoke, the small purple sphere slowly disappeared, while a thin layer appeared around his palm, which soon clenched into a fist "Normally, martial artists use Ki more intensely in their attacks, making their blows stronger" He then punched the air, causing a slight current of air to appear, shaking the branches of a nearby tree.
"However, without good Ki control, they can't use much of their Ki, and they also end up wasting it without even realizing it. So to further increase my strength, I train my control over Ki, so that I can always extract the maximum of my power" Akira finished explaining, then stood up, leaving the top of the rock.
Amazed by the explanation, Chi-Chi thought 'Daddy is very strong, but I've never seen him do things like this!' Her eyes sparkled as she looked at the young man in front of her.
Before she felt in love with Akira's appearance, but now it had become more intense, as she saw him as someone very talented and intelligent.
Even if a large part of that was because of her childish outlook, it was still true that Akira was extremely talented and coupled with his knowledge of this world, he stood out greatly from the others.
Akira didn't know what was going through her mind, but he knew she was impressed because of her expression, so he said with a slight smile "If you want, I can teach you a little about how to control Ki"
The glint of excitement intensified in Chi-Chi's eyes, she could feel her heart beating faster "I want to!" She replied without even thinking about it.
Akira smiled, then his gaze slowly rose, to face the sun "It should be lunch time by now, so let's eat first, then I'll start teaching you"
It was possible to see the girl's expression becoming anxious, as if she was willing to ignore her hunger to start her training with Akira right away, but she still nodded and said "Alright"
...
Lunch was quick, but in Chi-Chi's anxious mind it seemed like an eternity, in which she put all her effort into devouring everything quickly, but put herself in the situation of having to wait for Akira to finish his plate.
After the frustrating wait, Chi-Chi would finally be taught by him. The girl was very excited and kept it a secret from her father, not letting him know that she would be training.
Akira didn't know why the girl wanted to keep it a secret, but with her asking him not to say anything to the Ox King, he just left it like that.
'The Ox King must not know how to control Ki...' Akira was thinking, as he walked in front of Chi-Chi, moving away from the house once more.
'Even Master Roshi doesn't have very good control over his Ki, it took him 50 years to develop the Kamehameha, which is a very simple attack...' A bit of pride was rising in Akira's heart.
Even if it was thanks to his talent and knowledge of anime, he had already surpassed Master Roshi in Ki control, having only been in this world for a few days.
Without even noticing the time passing, Akira arrived at his destination, that lake that Chi-Chi had shown him earlier.
"Let's train here, it will be more suitable" He said sitting on the grass.
Chi-Chi followed suit and sat across from Akira, looking expectantly at him "Now what do I do?" She asked.
Akira moved one palm away from the other and slowly concentrated his Ki in that area, then began to speak "First you need to familiarize yourself with Ki, feeling it in your own body. The way I learned this was by focusing the Ki between my hands"
What was once a faint glow slowly turned into a purple orb the size of a tennis ball. Chi-Chi had seen it before, but she was still in awe of it.
The girl quickly tried to repeat what she was seeing, but nothing was emerging between her small hands and her gaze filled with frustration "I can't do this!" Her voice sounded a little tearful.
Akira laughed and shook his head "If it were that easy, everyone would be able to control Ki" He said as the Ki sphere in his hand slowly disappeared.
With the rapid evolution Akira had in his strength, he was able to discover something about Ki control. The stronger he was, the more Ki he would have, so with a greater amount it would be easier to control his Ki.
In fact, his Ki control didn't get any easier, but with a larger Ki reserve, even with a large waste, he could still use abilities like flying and shooting Ki.
Chi-Chi had more Ki than a normal adult, but it was still not enough, so without good control, she wouldn't be able to fly like Akira did quickly.
"Keep trying, imagine your strength being concentrated between your palms and take your time" Akira told her.
'If she was stronger, it would probably be easier, but I won't be here for long' He thought, as he looked at the girl.
Time passed slowly, Chi-Chi became more and more frustrated, she was unable to concentrate her Ki.
As tears welled up in the corners of her eyes, she felt her hands being held. She looked at Akira in surprise, as her face turned red.
"No need to cry, it's normal that you can't control your Ki, it took me a long time too" Akira gave her a gentle look.
He was obviously lying, but there was no way Chi-Chi could know and she didn't even think about it, her mind was focused on his touch and his gentle gaze.
The tears that were welling up in her eyes slowly disappeared as she blinked 'Akira's hands are holding mine... This is something couples do in TV dramas!' She thought as her heart pounded harder than ever.
Akira noticed the redness on the girl's face and couldn't help but laugh internally 'Was I like this when I was her age?'
It was only a few years apart, but it was enough for their mindsets to be quite different. Akira could remember liking some older girls at his school, he wondered if that was how they saw him.
"Try a little more, if you can't we can try tomorrow, there's no need to be too hasty" He said softly.
Chi-Chi's face slowly returned to normal, with only a slight pink on her cheeks. She nodded, unable to speak, and continued trying to concentrate her Ki.
Time continued to pass slowly, the sun was getting closer and closer to the horizon, signaling the end of the afternoon.
Akira was a little surprised at Chi-Chi's dedication, as she had spent hours trying. Although she couldn't stay focused completely, regularly getting lost in other thoughts, looking at him and her surroundings, she was still trying.
It wasn't until the sun was halfway over the horizon that a faint glow appeared between Chi-Chi's hands. As soon as the faint glow appeared, her eyes widened and a huge smile appeared on her lips.
"I did it! Akira, look!" She was very happy, showing the small glow of Ki in her hands.
Akira smiled and said "Well done, Chi-Chi! I told you you could do it"
As soon as he praised her, the glow disappeared. Chi-Chi was confused, but Akira quickly said "It's normal for it to disappear if you don't keep your focus, but once you've achieved it, it'll be much easier to do it again. Now let's go back, you must be exhausted"
Even though they had spent the afternoon sitting, Chi-Chi had become mentally exhausted and this had also taken its toll on her body. Even though she had only just managed to form the Ki glow, she had still been using her Ki all the time since early afternoon.
Chi-Chi was very excited and wanted to continue, but she felt exhausted, so she nodded to Akira "Alright..." Her voice was a little slow.
...
In the following days, Akira spent his mornings hunting, killing dinosaurs and absorbing the power from their bodies, causing his strength to continue to increase. In his afternoons, he tried to teach Chi-Chi, while he also trained, improving his own Ki control.
Just as he had said, once Chi-Chi managed to concentrate her Ki once, it was easy to repeat that action, so she managed to slowly get used to doing it, until she reached the point where she could do it quickly, without needing to be fully focused.
When she reached this level of Ki control, Akira showed her the flying technique. Needless to say, the girl was very surprised to see him fly, and very excited to learn it as well.
With great dedication, Chi-Chi managed to float for a moment after training for an entire day, but that short moment already drained all her Ki and she was exhausted.
Falling to the ground, her knees couldn't hold her weight and she fell to the ground. Her breathing was heavy, but she had a satisfied smile "I finally did it!"
Beside her, Akira extended his hand to help her up "You did very well, if you can increase your Ki, you'll probably be able to fly smoothly" His voice sounded soft.
Chi-Chi blushed slightly, while maintaining her smile she took his hand and stood up "Thank you..." Her voice sounded a little shy.
Akira smiled 'I didn't expect that she would be able to float in just one day, but it must be because she trained her Ki control a lot in the past three days'
He knew that if the girl had been trying to fly from the beginning, she probably wouldn't have been able to do it so soon, that was why he hid this ability until today, so she could keep her focus on controlling her Ki better, before trying to fly.
Akira felt happy for Chi-Chi's achievement, first because he knew she was enjoying her new skills, and second because of his self-realization, for having managed to teach someone.
'She still needs to get strong to be able to really fly, but she can do that on her own... Goku and Bulma will probably arrive in the next few days and I'll leave with them...' He thought with a complex expression on his face.
