We can see a middle aged woman entering the classroom carrying a small boy about the age of five.
"Settle down, class." The woman spoke before placing her son on her chair
This was the homeroom teacher of class 13E which was the most special class from the entire 13 class sections as E meant Executive wielders (meaning everyone in this class held Executive abilities).
As the students' noise tuned down, the woman spoke again
"As some of you might or might not know, some heroes will be arriving at our school to assess your abilities. I recommend you all show off your phases" she said in a monotone voice.
The boy sitting on the teacher's chair looked up in curiosity before questioning his mother
"Mommy, what are phases?" the woman looked at her son and smiled.
"My dear, those who have Executive Abilities use phases to control the amount of energy they release. The higher the phase, the more power released." She answered her son in a kind voice.
Before anything else happened, a bald man peeped in.
"Mrs. Veronica, the heroes have arrived and are waiting for all of you." The man spoke. The teacher looked back at her class and signaled them to follow her before carrying her son out of the class.
The students followed their teacher to the gym where four people stood. These four were the heroes mentioned by the bald man and the teacher.
Meanwhile with our protagonist ...
We see Lucas looking at the students; fawning over the heroes who had begun to introduce themselves.
"Hello children!! I, am Hell-Flame!! We will examine your capabilities and see whether you all have what it takes!!" The man who's body was partially on fire spoke.
'Hell-Flame... the 2nd Global ranked hero in ALL of Zelvord' Lucas thought to himself. (After moving to Urthopia. many new countries were born and Zelvord was a country rivaling America).
But before Lucas thought of anything else, a voice called out to him.
"Hey Lucas! How ya doing?" Lucas turned around to meet eyes with Amanda.
"Not much," Lucas replied "just looking at the heroes." Lucas' gaze switched to the heroes yet again.
"Magic or Sorcery, no matter. I, am Normyre." The old man who was holding a long staff, wearing a painted hat, spoke.
Lucas, from a glance only could recognize Hell-Flame as a Pyro-general. These Executive Wielders had the ability of flame manipulation. Normyre was a mage. Meaning he could harness the power of magic and Sorcery through the chanting of spells.
"Hi everyone!! I'm SUPER excited to be here! My name is Angelica!" A beautiful woman who was wearing a white dress spoke. A halo floated on the woman's head which gave Lucas an idea of what she was.
'An angel... who knew one would show up here?' Lucas asked himself as some boys fawned over Angelica's beauty.
"Calm down Angelica," the other beautiful lady who had sky blue eyes and hair spoke. "Greetings everyone, I am Frozena." Another group of boys began to gaze at Frozena with lust in their eyes.
"Lucas," Amanda spoke "isn't Frozena the 3rd Global rank?"
Lucas looked at Amanda who had curiosity in her flame coloured eyes.
"Yes, she is the most powerful Cryo-general in Zelvord." Amanda's eyes beamed as she looked back at Frozena.
After a while...
"Alright, that is enough," Normyre spoke calming the students "we will call out your registration number. Once yours is called out, proceed to this area." Normyre pointed at the red circle infront of the students
Mrs. Veronica handed Angelica a file. The file was then handed over to Hell-Flame. He started to looked through it before he said.
"1342." A brown haired boy walked up to the judges. "State your name and Executive wielder group before showing off your phases." The boy nodded and said.
"My name is Harold Deep. I am a Wind-general." (Wind-generals had the ability to manipulate Wind)
Hell-Flame nodded and signaled the boy to begin. The boy proceeded to release his
Another while later...
"1376." Hell-Flame called out yet again.
Lucas heard a small gasp before he saw Amanda walking towards the heroes.
"Hi, I am Amanda Star and I am a Hydro-general." Amanda said.
The heroes nodded before Angelica gave Amanda the signal to begin. Amanda took a deep breath and looked at Lucas. 'I'll make you proud' Amanda thought to herself.
She began releasing her energy before it began taking the shape of an octopus.
"Phase 2: Wateroctopus!!" A bight light emerged from Amanda.
After it settled, everyone could see Amanda's 2nd phase. The form seemed to have the shape of an octopus. And in the centre of it all, Amanda floated.
"Wateroctopus disables my locomotive ability. But, it supplies me with destructive abilities." A voice spoke from the octopus.
The heroes looked at each other before, Normyre chanted,
"Come forth my loyal summons, Moon Fenryr!!" A magic circle appeared on the ground and from it, a large wolf with silver fur, emerged.
Many of the students gasped and wowed. Lucas, himself was impressed.
Let me explain a bit to you. The Executive element within Urthopia had mutated the original life forms living on the planet. Some heroes are tasked to defeat those beasts which are hostile towards humans. BUT, there are some beasts which can be tamed. These beasts are known as ''Summons". Mages are the primal group which have the aid of these summons.
"Fenryr, use moon cresent!!" Normyre instructed. A large number of attacks shaped like the moon, launched towards Amanda.
Amanda skillfully blocked about 96% of the attacks. The rest left deep cuts on the form. After a while, Amanda's form perished due to energy depletion.
The heroes looked at each other and at the Moon Fenryr before Hell-Flame spoke.
"Congratulations Mrs. Star. You have successfully passed and so, you have permission to take part in the entrance exam of Opel; the greatest academy of heroism in Zelvord" . Amanda beamed in happiness and jumped in excitement.
"1377." Frozena spoke looking at the file. Lucas, began walking towards the heroes. Lucas was considered the coolest boy in Holvarad, so when he stepped into the red circle, multiple girls screamed and admired him while many boys grit their teeth and looked at Lucas in jealousy.
"My name is Lucas J. Adams. And I am a Bio-general." Lucas spoke.
The heroes signaled Lucas to begin. Lucas emitted a large wave of energy. The Moon Fenryr, after being consumed in the aura, began to shiver.
"Phase 2; Blood Rush!!" Lucas cried out. The energy dispersed before steam started sprouting from his body. He gained a dark red glow on his skin. "This phase increases my agility in exchange for my strength and defense."
Normyre looked at his summon and signaled it to attack Lucas. But... the Fenryr didn't move from his spot. So, Normyre instructed Lucas to begin the battle.
Lucas followed and dashed towards the Fenryr and kicked it. The wolf evaded the attack with seemingly easiness. The wolf jumped back and knelt downbefore howling.
A sonic blast released and released towards Lucas.
Lucas, after realising he couldn't evade it cried out.
"Phase 2; King of Steel!!" The dark red glow Lucas held disappeared and shifted into a silver colour.
He took the attack, but it left a few scars on his body. Lucas raised his foot and yet again, yelled.
"[Normal class skill; Earth ripple!!]" A loud sound emerged and headed towards the Fenryr.
Before the attack landed, Hell-Flame shot a blast of flames towards it, cancelling the attack.
"That's enough!!" Hell-Flame cried out. Lucas and the Fenryr looked at the heroes.
"Forgive us Mr.Adams, but it seems your abilities are not able to bypass the 10% of my Fenryr." Normyre spoke in a dull tone.
"Thus, you won't be able to partake in the entrance exam of Opel." Lucas as felt his soul and all six of his hearts shatter. (Bio-generals had multiple hearts and brains. They would grow as your power level increases.)
"But don't worry," Hell-Flame spoke. "Since most of you didn't know we were coming, the ministry has decided to give you another chance." Lucas looked at Hell-Flame and asked.
"When?" Angelica swiftly answered Lucas' question.
"In two weeks." Lucas was taken aback. 'Two weeks?!!' Lucas thought 'It took me two freaking months to develop these two phases. How the heel am I supposed to develop in two weeks?!!'
But before anything else happened, Frozena stepped forward and released a chilling aura.
"But don't even think of using an enhancer..."
The students were terrified of Frozena while Lucas was terrified of not being able to enter Opel.
Present Day...
"But!" We see Amanda arguing with Lucas. "You still have TWO whole weeks! You can't get sad over that!!" Amanda was about to say something else when Lucas yelled at her.
"ENOUGH!!!" Amanda stepped back in fear. "Listen Amanda, you and I both know that it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE for a person to develop a new phase in two weeks. So give up." He turned around and walked away "Please let me be. I have to get this out of my head."
Amanda had never been scolded by Lucas in their 14-year-old friendship. She felt to the ground with tears in her eyes. 'How will I be with him now?' Amanda asked herself.
