Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: United by Blood

The kindergarten principal had taught Su Heyi that she must never go with strangers.

But Gu Mo's handsome looks were so captivating that Su Heyi was in a dilemma, unsure whether she should agree or not.

While she was hesitating, the principal arrived. Principal Liu, a kind-hearted middle-aged woman in her fifties with a benevolent face, already knew what had happened on her way here. Seeing the group of formidable people, she was not surprised but quickly pulled Su Heyi to her side: "Sir, Heyi is my employee..."

Gu Mo withdrew his hand, his gaze turning cold again as he looked at the principal. His sharp eyes were like a blade, piercing her face and making her want to step back, to distance herself from this man.

"Hello, she saved my son, and we intend to express our gratitude," Gu Mo said indifferently, without a hint of emotion.

"No need, no need. Our Heyi is naive, and what she did was her duty. Let's just leave it at that... Heyi, come with me," the principal urged Su Heyi to leave.

Su Heyi, of course, had to listen to Aunt Liu, but she was reluctant to leave Gu Yan and the handsome man.

Before she left, she turned to look at them, waved, and smiled, "Goodbye."

Her smile was radiant.

Gu Yan also said his farewells, while Gu Mo remained silent, staring at Su Heyi with his eagle-like eyes.

Su Heyi left, seemingly disappointed that Gu Mo hadn't spoken.

Gu Yan's innocent smile disappeared, revealing a look that was a carbon copy of Gu Mo's, like a miniature version of him.

Only Gu Mo's face was more sharply contoured.

"Dad, I like her. We will see her again, right?" Gu Yan's words were explicit.

"Of course, if you like her, we will definitely meet her again," a determined glint flashed in Gu Mo's eyes.

He didn't understand why, but as cold-hearted as he was, he felt a strong desire for Su Heyi the moment he saw her.

He wanted to possess her and keep her by his side.

Gu Mo was not a good man; he always got what he wanted.

...

Aunt Liu took Su Heyi back to the staff room and helped her change clothes. Without the bulky Relax Bear costume, Su Heyi's slender figure made her appear more fragile, thin and light.

"You, don't run around in the future. Don't do things like this again, understand?" Aunt Liu lectured her earnestly.

Su Heyi obediently hung her head like a primary school student being scolded, "I understand, Aunt Liu, I won't run around anymore."

"Why were you handing out flyers in this heat? Didn't I tell you to rest here?"

"They..." Su Heyi thought about it but decided to keep the words to herself.

The flyers were supposed to be handed out by others. They were lazy and knowing Su Heyi wouldn't refuse, they took advantage of her, making her do this job under the scorching sun.

Although the principal protected Su Heyi, she couldn't keep an eye on her all the time. Su Heyi was simple-minded and often bullied without complaining, which made her colleagues even more audacious. Originally, Su Heyi could only do simple tasks here; she couldn't learn complex ones. She seemed normal, but her shortcomings would be exposed as soon as she spoke more. She couldn't understand many things, but now it's a bit better. In the past, she couldn't even speak properly.

"Heyi, listen to Aunt Liu. From now on, you only need to do the work I arrange for you. No matter what others say, remember, you only listen to me, okay? No matter what they say, you don't care. If anyone bullies you, you come to Aunt Liu, alright?" The principal was kind-hearted, aware of Su Heyi's special circumstances, and always took good care of her. She couldn't stand others bullying her. Moreover, Su Heyi never caused trouble and always completed the tasks given to her earnestly. She earned little and never complained. In the principal's eyes, those other clever people were not as good as this simple girl.

Su Heyi agreed and asked, "Aunt Liu, who were those people just now?"

"They are powerful figures we cannot afford to provoke. Keep your distance from them in the future."

Su Heyi vaguely felt that they were not bad people, but she always listened to Aunt Liu, so she could only nod, "I understand."

On the other side, Gu Yan followed Gu Mo back to the Gu family mansion, but Gu Mo did not live here. After sending Gu Yan back, he gave a few instructions and left.

But these two father and son were indeed father and son, doing the same thing.

Gu Yan called the butler: "Butler, help me find out about someone."

The young master's first request was naturally to be obeyed.

And Gu Mo acted even faster. When he returned to his current residence, his subordinates had already handed over Su Heyi's information to him.

Gu Mo still sat in his wheelchair, his cold eyebrows and eyes motionless, showing no emotional changes.

But that noble and powerful aura belonged to the superior, and the sense of oppression was extremely strong, making the subordinates standing in the room feel very hard to get by.

It wasn't until Gu Mo's confidant, Jiang Yu, came in that the subordinates could finally withdraw.

"Boss, Miss Su's information is all here. She should have had an accident while in college, which led to some problems in her brain. She's better these years, no problem in life, but still not quite the same as normal people, and her way of thinking is a bit like a child."

"Are her parents dead?" Gu Mo turned a page, his eyes darkening.

"Yes, her parents died in a car accident, and she lived with her uncle's family. But their conditions were not very good, so they let her work in the amusement park. The park director is quite good to Miss Su, and the work she arranged for her is very easy."

"Easy?" Gu Mo's intonation rose, and those who were familiar with him could tell that this was a prelude to his unhappiness.

Jiang Yu didn't know which sentence he said wrong, so he could only remain silent for the time being, waiting for Gu Mo's instructions.

Gu Mo gave a cold smile: "Today's temperature is so high, and she is still wearing such a thick coat. Is this kind of work called easy?"

Jiang Yu hurriedly said, "I will check her situation again."

"Don't take it lightly." Gu Mo said, and then he seemed to feel that it was not enough, and added a sentence inexplicably, "She is the savior of Gu Yan."

Jiang Yu thought to himself, your explanation seems a bit redundant...

Gu Mo finished reading the not very thick information, and the life of Su Heyi is basically here. Originally, she was a rich girl, but she encountered the situation of her family's bankruptcy. Later, her parents died directly, leaving her alone, not to mention that she became stupid due to an accident.

Even Gu Mo, who didn't care about other people's feelings, felt that Su Heyi's fate was a bit miserable.

But when he saw Su Heyi this afternoon, the brilliance in her eyes was so bright, and there was no trace of defeat due to her miserable fate. She looked so fresh and lively.

Gu Mo wanted to... trap her by his side.
