Chereads / Until I See You / Chapter 4 - Teddy

Chapter 4 - Teddy

When Hudson received the phone call from the police station, he apologized to his daughter took a cab, and left without giving his opinion about what Bridget requested for her gift of graduation.

And since Hudson did not say no, Bridget took it as a yes.

This is why she is now driving her new Mercedes and heading to her old house without even informing her father, but the latter is busy with the Segas' case which is also one of the reasons why Bridget did not want to bother him.

In addition to all this, Bridget does not see anything wrong with renting their old house for the summer not only that but also she is a grown-up woman and can make decisions like these from now on alone for herself.

Her father's house which is where she stays was twenty-five minutes away from their old house, Bridget has no clue how these minutes passed so quickly but she thinks she lost track of time because she was so excited to arrive at her… Home, that's her home where she made many memories since her childhood.

+Future Bridget's pov:++

The summer after I graduated university, I went to stay in my old house which is the only place where I feel like I'm in my home.

I thought a home could only be a place, but I had no idea that the future would prove me wrong.

++POV's End++

The house has a front and a back yard, a swimming pool, and two floors.

There is a small park full of flowers and plants in front of the house.

A soft grin appeared on Bridget's face as her eyes started to shine in pure happiness when she caught a glimpse of her old house that is located in a very calm neighborhood, mostly because only rich people live here and since these people do not have too much free time, very few of them have kids which is one of the reasons why the neighborhood is silent.

Bridget first parked her new Mercedes in front of the sidewalk because she was too excited to see her home again which is why she decided to park her car in the garage that was on the left side of the house later.

She walked toward the main door that was on the right side of the house and unlocked it with the keys that got from the guy that owns this house now after paying the rent for the three months of Summer.

The floor of the house was made of ceramic, that was a request from her mother so that it would be easier for the maids to clean when it gets dirty.

That was definitely because of her since she was a very messy child who was curious about everything and anything.

A chuckle escaped from her mouth when she remembered some memories of her pouring different colors of paint on the ground and mixing them to create new ones.

Their maids probably hated her for that.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room, a family room, a dining room, and a kitchen.

On the second floor, there are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a warehouse, and a balcony.

Bridget used to stay on the second floor and her parents on the first one.

There is also much furniture in the house including fancy lamps hanging on ceilings on each floor.

The decor of the house completely changed but it is still beautiful.

In the backyard of the house, there was a swimming pool and gazebo, the latter was her father's idea so that he could enjoy his free time over there, well Bridget and her mother used to occupy it more than her father.

She still remembers how she played rock paper and scissors with her parents, the one who wins, gets to work or study in the gazebo.

She knows they always let her win which brought a smile to her face when she remembered this memory.

Bridget heard a honk from outside which is why she rushed to open the door just to find the full-service movers waiting for her.

She needed her clothes and many other stuff that she could not just put in her car and bring with her which is why she decided to hire these people to bring them to her old house.

"This is so refreshing," Bridget whispered to herself when she took a sip from her orange juice she took a seat in the gazebo and decided to relax until the employees finished their work inside the house.

She did not do much of the relaxing part because she grabbed her tablet and started looking at the last picture that was taken of Julian before he ran away.

She kept zooming in an attempt to see who was inside the SUVs that came to take Julian, she could see someone inside one of these vehicles but it was not clear at all.

All Bridget could see was the silhouette of that person because the car was dark from the inside.

She narrowed her eyes and kept focusing and zooming until she completely lost the feeling of her surroundings because all her concentration was on the picture.

She was startled when a bark was heard from a dog that was sitting right next to her feet.

Bridget placed her hand on her chest and sighed in relief. "You scared me, little one."

The dog was a cream-colored Pomeranian, very adorable, tiny yet so fluffy which made Bridget chuckle. "I will forgive you because you are cute."

Bridget patted the dog's head as the dog started moving its fluffy tail happily from side to side, which is when Bridget noticed the collar around the dog's neck. "Where is your owner, Teddy? What a cute name you ha…"

She found the name written on the collar and the moment she said the dog's name, Teddy started wiggling his tail even more.

However, Bridget was interrupted before she could even finish petting Teddy and holding him.

"Teddy?" A deep yet calm voice, this man's voice although it was deep was not annoying, it was so soothing, the type of voice that most men would die to have and most women would do anything for their husbands to have that type of voice.

One call was enough to make Teddy rush toward the source of the sound.

Bridget curiously followed Teddy with her gaze as she saw a man getting out of the back seat of a white Maserati Grecale.

The man was dressed in brown wide pants with a loose button-down that was revealing half of his muscled chest that had a very soft necklace dangling on it.

Wide shoulders, and long legs, and his arms seemed to be muscled too but Bridget was not sure because the button-down was loose, she only thought the owner of Teddy had muscled arms because of his forearms that were visible because his sleeves were rolled up.

He looked cozy, and soft because of the thin bracelets on his left wrist and the necklace on his neck, he was warm, definitely nice, and soft-hearted.

Bridget couldn't see his face because the guy was wearing a hat and sunglasses that hid half of his face, but he still looked like he walked straight out of a photoshoot or a magazine.

A grin formed on Bridget's face as she watched that man crouching down and carefully… super extra carefully picking Teddy in his big arms which made the dog look way smaller than it already is due to how broad its owner's chest is.

The car left while Teddy's owner peacefully walked inside the house that was right next to the house that Bridget would be staying in for the summer… for the next three months.
