The lady headed in our direction. "Uncle Musa, Aunt," she gently smiled as she called.
"Lilly! We thought you had traveled abroad for good!" I saw Musa smiling happily as he stood up to hold Lilly's hands tenderly.
Mrs. Charpil also held her hand as she made her take a seat in the empty seat beside her.
"The conference is over, please retreat," I heard Mr. Musa say. How could the cameramen object to his words? They simply packed up and quickly left.
"Tell me, how are you back?" Mrs. Charpil asked.
"Well, my medical condition was treated; I am fine now. I simply missed Muni, so I came back," Lilly gently said as she looked around.
"You must be confused, right? That is Henry's wife, Shiba," Mrs. Charpil introduced.
"Henry, it's been long," Lilly said with sad eyes.
I saw Henry quickly stand up as he headed towards Lilly. "I thought you had completely left Muni for good," he said as he sat beside Lilly.
I finally connected some dots. Isn't this the girl Henry told me about that night? His first love? I internally chuckled. So, Henry could be this attentive and caring? It was really amusing.
"I thought so as well, but nostalgia for Muni overpowered my father's orders for me to stay abroad," Lilly said.
"Did Uncle come with you? How could you be here alone?" Henry worriedly asked.
"Dad is still handling some affairs abroad, but he will soon return," Lilly gently smiled at Henry.
"I will drive you home. You have always been in poor health; it's not good to come out alone," Henry said.
It's as though he couldn't properly think. Did Lilly come here on foot?
"I had just come to pray near this place when I heard that Uncle was here. How could I then go home without passing by?" Lilly elaborated.
"Henry has always been worried about you since childhood, and so are we. Let him escort you home, but not before you pass by our house!" Mr. Musa said.
Lilly gently smiled. "I will follow Uncle's arrangements," she said.
"Brother Kain, Trent, how have you been doing?" Lilly weakly asked.
"Good, of course we were good, but little Lilly wasn't around, so we were downcast," Kain said.
"You are still a comedian," Lilly noted, causing the brothers to laugh.
"Welcome back, Lilly. It's indeed been long," Julie said.
"Julie, Kelly, how have you been?" Lilly asked.
Kelly and Julie smiled as they told her that they were doing great and everything at home was fine.
"Let's go home first," Henry said.
I saw Lilly slowly glance in my direction. "What about your wife?" she asked.
Henry smiled; he didn't even look my way. "Shiba is an understanding person. The driver will take her home; she doesn't mind such a small thing, right, Shiba?" he said as he suddenly turned to face me.
I nodded in agreement. He was right; I didn't want to be in his presence at all. I was even relieved that he wasn't tagging along back home!
I noticed Lilly's hesitant expression before Mr. and Mrs. Charpil stood up to leave and urged the rest to do so too. They stood up and followed behind them, and so did I.
I saw Henry gently lead Lilly away. So, this was the woman who was worthy? He was indeed right; I couldn't speak like Lilly. She even used a foreign language in between her sentences. I didn't know any other language apart from my own. However, I didn't mind; in Muni, a man was allowed to marry more than one wife.
I hoped that Henry would marry her; if that happened, maybe I wouldn't have to face his anger and resentment for not being his perfect lover.
I turned to head towards the car. Out of thin air, I saw a cameraman approach me with his microphone. I was startled. Didn't Mr. Musa tell all of these people to disperse?
"Mrs. Shiba, why didn't you leave with the rest of the family?" the cameraman asked. Of course, I didn't answer; my throat hurt if I talked, so I tried to dodge him and continue to the garage, but he blocked my way.
"Now that you are married into such a big family, I guess you despise us poor people. You can't even speak to us?" the reporter continued.
This time, I gave up. I let him say whatever he wanted. I decided to go back inside the venue, but I saw the driver running towards me before shoving the cameraman away.
"Who are you? Who gave you the right to interview the madam? Security will escort you to the police station; you will bear the punishment for not listening to Mr. Charpil's words!" the driver said.
I saw the cameraman look towards my direction in resentment and anger, but then he smiled and let the security escort him away.
The driver then told me to follow him towards the car. He opened the car door for me, and I sat down.
"I am so sorry, madam. I was informed a few minutes ago that I would drive you home," the driver explained.
"No problem," I said. As he drove me home, I looked outside the car window. I envied all the women I saw walking on the streets; at least they were free. Whatever problems they had, it was still better that they had their freedom.
When we reached home, I directly headed towards the bedroom to wash and change clothes. Henry's touch still lingered on my body, making my skin crawl.
As I was blow-drying my hair, notifications rang on my phone during a marathon. I was slightly confused, so I picked it up to check.
Under my social media page, I saw numerous comments from people who had never appeared in my comment section before, angrily rebuking me.
@Siadi ---- Who do you think you are? Looking at Lilly with those malicious eyes! Leave our Lilly alone!
@Tonis --- Lilly is Henry's true love. I just wanted you to know, lol.
@Yandi --- Just because you are married to Henry doesn't mean a thing! You are just a country bumpkin who was exchanged for money. I made a clear search on you. Your father had a medical condition that was treated; he also got his job back! Your entire family is full of hungry hyenas, only looking for money, lol.
@Tress --- I will advise all critical-thinking people not to exchange words with this girl. She only completed elementary school; how can she understand you? Haaaa.
@Fredri --- Is it just me that doesn't know what is going on?
@Odies --- follow this link to clearly see this woman's disgusting eyes towards our Lilly: ww||http:#wethvdjkdvhfsdgunk. Thank me later!
@Cream -- The rest of the family left without her, probably because she can't fit in with them. Look at her; it is as though she has never seen the outside world. Lol, she grew up in Muni and has never left. heeee
Such comments kept pouring in on my page, so I also clicked on the link to see what was going on.
I saw a video of when I was looking at Henry as he escorted Lilly; however, the camera angle somehow focused on Lilly and my sight instead. I immediately sighed. Why would I hate Lilly? I instead appreciated her; however, I couldn't explain this to these people.
I finished preparing myself and headed towards the dining table to have some simple lunch.
As I approached the table, I felt faint. The last thing I remember was the chef worriedly running towards me.
