From that day, I didn't know what happened outside. Henry took my phone and forbade anyone in the house from giving me one. I was restless; I couldn't eat or properly concentrate on taking care of the twins. All I thought about was my brother.
A week went by in that state. Henry also hadn't returned home, so I couldn't gauge the situation. I had put on all the news channels, but nothing came up; I was so frustrated.
On this day, I was feeding the crying twin, Massey. Her brother, Klain, was watching us with his big eyes. I put on the news channel, and this time around, a news channel was showing news from Huner.
"A major fire broke out in Huner Main Hospital. Thankfully, the authorities acted in time. A medical doctor and two nurses were harmed in the situation, but they are all out of danger," the news reporter on TV said. My heart dropped; this was my brother's hospital! Was Henry this heartless that he could cause harm to people on this large scale?
I immediately placed Massey down and put a pacifier in her mouth. I couldn't stay still. By whatever circumstance, I had to find out if my brother was hurt!
I immediately rushed towards the mansion's entrance; no one could stop me from going out!
"Where are you rushing to?" Henry asked as he was coming from outside. I almost bumped into him.
"Have your phone; you should want to talk to your brother, right?" Henry said as he chuckled, handing me my phone and walking towards the twins.
"How are my babies? Dad is back!" Henry said as he headed towards the children.
I immediately tried calling my brother's phone, but it wasn't going through. "What did you do to my brother, you lunatic!" I screamed at Henry. I was beyond angry and frustrated.
Massey immediately began to cry. "Shhh... see? You made my baby cry. Okay, Massey, be good," Henry said as he ignored me while carrying Massey.
Some of the employees looked at me questioningly as they walked past. I simply couldn't ask Henry anything.

I continued to call my brother non-stop, but it was still the same result: no reply!
"Have you thought for a fact that he may just not be able to hear you?" Henry slowly chuckled as he asked while soothingly carrying Massey.
A chill ran down my spine as I angrily turned towards him.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Why are you looking at me like that? It was just a suggestion," Henry said as he made smiley faces at Massey, who was now giggling happily.
"What do you mean?" I listlessly asked again.
Henry simply chuckled as he headed upstairs, carrying both Massey and Klain.
I slowly walked towards a nearby sofa and sat down. I then called my sister; she picked up after I called her two times.
"Sima, how is Ady?" I immediately asked.
I heard Sima sniffle. "How did you know about his condition?" she asked.
"The news," I said.
"Ady, he will never be able to hear again," Sima said.
I simply couldn't believe her words! What do you mean Ady can't hear?
"What do you mean, Sima?" I asked.
"Shiba, Ady lost his hearing ability! As a doctor, this might affect him! Also, the woman he had proposed to escaped with another wealthy man after finding out about his situation! Why does it have to be Ady?" Sima said as she cried.
I stopped listening to anything she had to say after her explanation. My brother had struggled to reach where he was! What did Henry know about privilege? Ady worked hard in the fields; he woke up early and slept late. He worked like a horse for his family, for me, Dad, Mom, all my father's wives, and children!
Suddenly, a surge of anger rose within me. I immediately rushed upstairs. Henry had just finished laying down the children in their crib. The nanny was checking on their condition as she gave them toys to play with.
"You want to talk? Let's go and talk," Henry said as he went towards our bedroom.
"Why did you do that to my brother?" I asked after entering the room and closing the door behind me.
"You are always asking the wrong questions, Shiba. Ask yourself, why did you do that to your brother? You are the one who hurt him. You snooped around my affairs; I don't tolerate anybody, and I mean anybody, airing my laundry," Henry slowly said.
"Thankfully, nothing was aired out; that's what saved your brother. As for you, I believe you learned your lesson. Just lay down for me; I yearn for you. After that, I will consider this chapter done," Henry said as he approached me and held my shoulders, sliding my dress off my shoulders.
I intently looked at Henry and thought that this man before my eyes would put lunatics to shame. I immediately rearranged my dress.
"Let's divorce," I stated immediately.
"Your first love is already here anyway. Don't worry; I will work like a donkey to pay every single penny my family owes," I added.
I heard Henry laugh. "I will pretend that I didn't hear what you said. Didn't anyone tell you that no woman in the Charpil family can divorce?" he said as he removed his shirt, throwing it to the side of the bed.
"Okay, let me now ease your jealousy. I thought we had previously agreed not to talk about Lilly?" Henry said as he roughly threw me on the bed.
Although weeks had passed since I gave birth, it was advisable not to be intimate until over a month. I also didn't have any desire to be intimate with Henry at all!
"You beast! You just ended my brother's career, and now you are attempting to assault me!" I shouted as I tried to stand up from the bed; however, Henry was faster than me. He held me down as his hands slid inside my dress and removed my underwear.
"What assault? You are my wife; it's not like I am raping you," Henry chuckled as he tore off my dress.
"Stop right now!" I screamed as I attempted to free my arms, but it was all useless. I simply stopped my struggle as I thought about Ady. How must he be feeling now? What did he do wrong in this entire situation?
"I love it when you are submissive, Shiba. Just cooperate with me, okay?" Henry said as he entered me. He didn't take my situation into consideration at all as he thrust away.
I felt pain, but when I thought about Ady, the pain numbed. Who was I to complain when my brother lost everything he worked hard for? Henry was right; I was to blame. I made the mistake of involving him in my affairs. I shouldn't have done that from the beginning. I silently cried at my brother's misfortune.
