Exercise 3: Psychometry with Photographs
Photographs often carry the energy of the moment they were taken and the people captured in them. In this exercise, you will use a photograph to practice reading the emotions and energy of the people in the image.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Choose a Photograph: Select a photograph that you haven't seen before, or one you don't know much about. Ideally, the photo should feature people rather than places.
Quiet Your Mind and Focus: Sit quietly, holding the photograph in your hands. Take a few deep breaths and let your thoughts settle. As you breathe, allow yourself to feel connected to the image.
Focus on the Faces: Gently touch the photograph, focusing on the faces of the people in the image. Try to tune into their emotions at the moment the photo was taken. Ask yourself:
What were they feeling?
What was their emotional state at this time?
Receive Impressions: As you concentrate, see if any feelings, thoughts, or sensations arise in your mind. You may sense joy, sadness, tension, or peace. Be open to any emotions or images that surface.
Write Down Your Impressions: After the session, write down what you sensed or felt from the photograph. You can later ask the owner of the photo about the context in which it was taken to verify your impressions.
