He chose to start with a battle of taijutsu, having learned Konoha Taijutsu from the Ninja Academy and applied it in the battlefield during the first simulation he naturally could use it with ease.
His father was surprised at his speed, it wasn't much worse than his own... naturally he knew that meant that Akira's speed is nearing Elite Chunnin level.
Akira shot towards his father with all his speed, aiming to immobilize his legs first because of the height difference, if he wanted to aim towards the head he'd have to jump and this would put him at a disadvantage and opened multiple possibilities for his father to knock him down easily.
His father parried his first punch and tried to grab his head but he dodged quickly and went behind him, Kirugi simply made an bow with his leg and Akira had to retreat out of the range of Kirugi's leg in order to not have to jump.
After a few more trades they seemed to be in a balance, Kirugi tried to explore his height advantage and experience advantage with mastery but Akira's dexterity isn't to be joked on, so they are in a dead-lock.
Realizing that, Akira retreated to a safe range and started making seals.

Akira opened his mouth and spit multiple fire projectiles at the direction of Kirugi, not only that, he also threw kunai behind the fire.
Kirugi felt the heat pass through and cold sweat dripped in his back, he managed to dodge it, but when he noticed the kunai he knew he wouldn't manage to deflect or dodge so he quickly made the seals and a log appeared at the place he was previously at.
The battle continued and a few trades occoured here and there, followed by fire releases, but then suddenly Akira's eyes turned red and a single tomoe appeared on it.
Akira felt his dynamic vision improve drastically, the world seemed slower? or rather his brain processed visual information more quickly, his father's movements seemed to be more predictable and he now could make more precise moves with less mistakes.
Uchiha Kirugi was astonished when he saw that, Sharingan? a three year old awakened Sharingan? is that a joke?
After the shock he quickly pulled himself together, if this was battlefield any distraction would cost his life after all, his eyes turned red and two tomoe appeared on it.
The battle result was that Akira was exhausted and he lost, after all his body is still three years old, not to mention that his constitution wasn't as good as his father's, a complete Elite Chunnin.
But his objective was completed, conveying his strength to his father, so that he knew that he wasn't defenseless, he also asked his father not to divulge the information that he awakened Sharingan, so that a few unkind people wouldn't pay much attention to them.
After the battle they returned home and Asuna left a bump in their heads, they injured each other after all, a battle without a few bruises isn't a battle.
After this his family was much more relaxed, Akira's strength was enough to protect himself, much better than the vast majority of the Genin graduates.
