Chapter 12 - A Flood of Emotion

"Ah! I can't do it anymore! I have no strength left! Am I really going to die here?"

In that moment, Han Yu felt a profound sense of weakness and fear of death wash over him.

"No, I must not die. I have to live!"

As his consciousness began to fade, a surge of unwillingness, anger, and hatred for his own limitations erupted within him.

Suddenly, a flash of scarlet illuminated the dark waters. If he had been aware, Han Yu would have noticed that the seal on his soul power had been broken.

The Sharingan activated instinctively, revealing three black tomoes spinning rapidly. They intertwined, poised to form a mysterious pattern—but just before completing it, they halted, as if something was missing.

With the presence of the three tomoes, Han Yu's mental power surged, and his awareness began to sharpen.

"Is this… the three tomoe Sharingan?"

Han Yu smiled bitterly. Even with the three tomoe Sharingan, he felt it wouldn't matter—he was beyond saving. The pressure continued to weigh down on him, and his fading consciousness blurred further.

Just as he was about to lose all awareness, strong hands grabbed him and pulled him swiftly to the surface.

"It seems the plan worked. I didn't expect him to awaken the three tomoe Sharingan so soon. I hope he won't blame me later," Du Bu Si thought, feeling a sense of pride.

Having learned the evolution method for Han Yu's martial soul, Du Bu Si had meticulously devised this plan. He knew that keeping Han Yu unaware of his intentions was crucial; otherwise, Han Yu might develop defenses against it.

This method aimed to evolve Han Yu's martial soul through the intense pressure of life and death. After closely monitoring Han Yu's situation, Du Bu Si had timed the intervention perfectly, and it had finally succeeded.

As he laid Han Yu on the ground, Du Bu Si began to slap him on the back, causing Han Yu to bounce up.

The sound of slapping echoed as Du Bu Si continued, delivering dozens of rapid strikes. Each slap sent a green mist into Han Yu's body, revitalizing him with a surge of energy.

"This kid's body is still too weak. Let me help him," Du Bu Si muttered as he continued to strike Han Yu's back, his own aura noticeably diminished with each blow.

Using his soul power to forge Han Yu's body was clearly taking a toll on him. In his unconscious state, Han Yu felt as though he were trapped in a furnace, each hit akin to a hammer striking metal. The pain was intense, but with each blow, his body grew tougher, and impurities began to dissolve.

In the midst of this painful transformation, he lost track of time until the discomfort gradually faded, and he slipped into a deeper sleep.

With a deep breath, Du Bu Si exhaled, wiping the cold sweat from his brow. "Finally done. I've expended a lot of vitality this time—don't let me down." He frowned slightly, noting that the physical improvement wasn't as significant as he had hoped; it was only about three-quarters of what he expected.

"This is the first time using this secret method. Was there something off in the records?" A flicker of concern crossed his face. Even with his advanced cultivation, the effort had drained him.

"With this kid's current physique, once he reaches the second ring, he could potentially absorb a soul ring of around 3,000 years." He chuckled to himself, excitement building. "Those old monsters won't know what hit them!"

"Isn't your Shrek Academy known as the best on the continent? I can't wait to see how you react when you meet my disciples," Du Bu Si said, a smile spreading across his face. He seemed to envision the shock and disbelief on others' faces.

"Am I dead?" Han Yu murmured, barely opening his eyes. He felt sore all over, completely drained and disoriented.

"You're alive and well. Your teacher wouldn't let you die. Here, eat this," a low voice said as a large tray was placed before him.

"Teacher? You saved me?" Han Yu blinked in surprise, finally focusing on Du Bu Si.

"Uh, I guess so," Du Bu Si replied, looking a bit sheepish.

"After you left, someone attacked me and nearly killed me," Han Yu said, recalling the events as he regained his senses. His expression shifted to disbelief as he continued, "Teacher, that person—it couldn't have been you?"

It was a question, but his tone was filled with certainty.

"Haha, you're right. It was the teacher who threw you into the sea," Du Bu Si admitted with a chuckle.

Before Du Bu Si could finish speaking, he felt Han Yu's scarlet eyes fixate on him, a cold aura radiating from the young man. A torrent of negative emotions surged through Han Yu, clouding his consciousness.

"Disciple, wake up! Don't let your emotions take control!" Du Bu Si shouted urgently, his voice cutting through the haze.

Gradually, Han Yu's eyes began to clear. "Teacher?" he asked, confusion lacing his tone.

"Yes! Your Sharingan has evolved successfully; you now have three tomoe Sharingan. Take a look!" Du Bu Si said, pulling a mirror from his robes to show Han Yu.

As Han Yu gazed into the mirror, the three magatama of his Sharingan reflected back at him, filling him with doubt. "What's going on?"

Du Bu Si smiled proudly. "Have you forgotten your own words about the evolution of the Sharingan? I had to give you a strong stimulus to trigger it. Do you understand now?"

Han Yu was taken aback, the cold aura dissipating as the indifference in his eyes softened to confusion. "So you really did sneak up on me and throw me into the sea?"

His voice rose in disbelief, a mixture of tears and laughter on his face as he processed the truth.

Fortunately, Han Yu had awakened the three-tomoe Sharingan, but the price left him feeling unsettled.

"Didn't you say that yourself? If I hadn't done this, how could you have awakened your martial soul?" Du Bu Si replied with a smile, though he remained cautious after witnessing Han Yu's near loss of control.

"Han Yu, your martial soul has evolved. The intense emotional fluctuations during the process caused a significant change in your personality. You must learn to control your emotions; otherwise, what happened just now could happen again."
