Chapter 16 - Training

Han Yu's eyes turned scarlet as the three-magatama Sharingan emerged in his pupils. The black tomoe spun, releasing a cold wave of soul power. Du Bu Si observed with surprise; Han Yu's mental strength had noticeably increased since just a few days ago.

"Go!" Han Yu commanded, throwing a long sword to his shadow clone. They exchanged glances and launched their attack simultaneously. The shadow clone moved erratically, wielding swords in both hands to distract Du Bu Si.

Seizing the moment, Han Yu executed a fierce flank attack. His long sword sliced through the air, each strike aimed precisely at Du Bu Si's vital points.

Du Bu Si sneered, aware of his overwhelming combat experience as a Super Douluo. He deftly dodged, obscuring his location and making it challenging for Han Yu and the clone to keep track of him.

"Han Yu, this won't work. Your speed is still lacking; you can't even graze the hem of my clothes," Du Bu Si taunted.

With determination, Han Yu focused, infusing his sword with soul power.

Swish!

The Sharingan activated, his scarlet eyes gleaming with newfound intensity.

The Sharingan granted Han Yu extraordinary dynamic vision, allowing him to capture even the smallest movements, including the cunning glint in Du Bu Si's eyes.

He attacked again, slashing with his sword. Du Bu Si dodged at an unusual angle, then quickly clenched his fist and aimed a punch at Han Yu.

"Slow! Too slow! That speed is nothing to me," Han Yu taunted. Just as Du Bu Si was about to land the hit, Han Yu twisted his body and evaded the punch with incredible agility.

"Interesting!" Du Bu Si said, clearly intrigued. Under normal circumstances, Han Yu wouldn't have been able to dodge that attack.

The two were now in sync, exchanging blows and overlapping their figures in a fierce battle. As rain began to fall on the island, it had no impact on their fight.

Han Yu slashed with his sword, while Du Bu Si retaliated with powerful punches, and the shadow clone joined in the attack. With the enhanced vision of the Sharingan, Han Yu silently began to mimic Du Bu Si's physical techniques.

"Elbow strike from the original body!" they both executed simultaneously.

The powerful impact caused Han Yu to tremble and step back uncontrollably.

"I didn't expect your Sharingan could also copy the physical skills of our Original Body Sect. Impressive!" Du Bu Si laughed.

However, despite Han Yu's ability to replicate Du Bu Si's techniques, the difference in their physical conditioning remained significant.

After just a slight collision, Han Yu felt as if a massive truck had hit him.

"That's enough fighting, teacher! You're cheating!" he exclaimed, a bit irritated.

Although he could match Du Bu Si in skill, their physical conditioning was entirely different. They had been battling for a while, but only one real collision had occurred. Han Yu had relied on the Sharingan to dodge most attacks and counter when he could. Despite being able to see Du Bu Si's movements clearly, he couldn't match his speed. Each time he aimed to strike, Du Bu Si subtly increased his speed, avoiding the hit effortlessly.

"Why am I cheating?" Du Bu Si feigned innocence.

"Humph! Every time I was about to hit you, you secretly boosted your speed with soul power. How is that fair? It's boring this way!" Han Yu shot back, feeling both frustrated and embarrassed that Du Bu Si had to resort to using extra strength against him.

"Haha, I didn't think you'd notice," Du Bu Si admitted, a brief look of embarrassment crossing his face before he regained his serious demeanor. "I'm doing this to train you. You need to understand that as you travel through Douluo Continent, you'll encounter all sorts of cunning opponents, many of whom will hide their true strength."

"I'm training you like this so that you won't trust anyone easily in the future," Du Bu Si explained.

"Even you, teacher?" Han Yu replied casually.

Du Bu Si's serious expression faltered for a moment. "Well, of course not! You can trust me unconditionally. I would never lie to you. I just had to mimic the enemy's tactics."

"Han Yu, you need to believe your teacher!" he urged earnestly.

Han Yu pouted, thinking to himself, I don't trust you. Your face is thicker than the walls of Shrek. Are you just worried about losing face?

Seeing Du Bu Si unwilling to admit it, Han Yu decided to let it go. Despite not winning the spar, he felt a significant boost in his strength. Although his soul power was still at level 13, his actual combat ability had improved dramatically.

With the Sharingan's enhancements, soul masters with only two or three skills could no longer pose a challenge for him. This was particularly true when he relied solely on his physical skills, without employing illusions. If he did use illusions, even a seasoned soul master could easily fall victim to him.

Of course, this was true in one-on-one situations. As long as his opponent was momentarily distracted, Han Yu could seize the opportunity to deliver a lethal blow.

"Am I considered a sensitive attack control battle soul master?" he mused, amused by the thought, since his current style resembled that of an assassin. In reality, his melee capabilities were not exceptional, and his attack power was relatively weak. He relied entirely on skills and illusions to manipulate his enemies before finishing them off.

"By the way, the agile attack system doesn't seem to have a great reputation in Douluo Continent," he reflected. "They struggle against strong attack systems in head-to-head battles, can't breach defensive systems, and are outmatched by control systems. Their only advantage seems to be over auxiliary systems."

With the advent of soul guides, even auxiliary systems now possessed decent defense and attack capabilities. It seemed that the agile attack system held a rather precarious status.

Han Yu found this perplexing. In his view, the agile attack system was underutilized. People on Douluo Continent rarely engaged in assassination, and there was no formal assassin league. Most battles were straightforward, with combatants trading blows directly. Before a fight, they typically disclosed their levels and displayed their soul rings, resembling a structured game with tanks in the front, mages in the middle, and support characters in the back.

As long as you can take down the tank warrior on the opposite side, the game is essentially won.

Just as Han Yu was lost in thought, he suddenly felt a familiar sensation: his soul power was sealed, his neck was grabbed, and then—up he went!

"Again?"

From that day on, Han Yu endured intense training that left him feeling like he wanted to die. If Du Bu Si hadn't provided him with plenty of nutritious food daily, he might have broken mentally.

In the first few days, the focus was simply on resisting the water pressure. However, as Han Yu adapted, the training became far more demanding.
