Lawrence's eyebrows shot up. "The same commissioner caught up in those illegal deals?"
"Yes," Marcus replied, clicking the screen to show another image. "After Ms. Smith was exposed and ousted for corruption, most of her team was laid off—including Noah. Two years later, he was assigned to work with Griffin."
Alexander's eyes narrowed. "Smith was working with Mira, wasn't she?"
Marcus nodded. "Yes, sir. It's possible Mira pulled some strings to get Noah assigned to Griffin. He may have been placed there to keep an eye on her interests."
I glanced at Alexander, sensing the growing tension in the room. "So… Noah could be part of this. He's working with Mira."
"That's not all," Marcus added. "We traced some recent communication between Noah and an unknown number—the same number that sent that message yesterday."
