Their eyes locked in a heartbeat, and in that moment, the space between them disappeared completely, as if drawn by an irresistible force. When their lips met, it was anything but gentle- intense, urgent and full of unspoken longing. The kiss was deep, their mouths moving in perfect rhythm, hungry for each other, as though they were pouring every emotion. There was so much desire, need, and passion in that single connection. Hands grasped exploring each other, bodies pressed close, the heat between them igniting a fire that spread through their veins. The world around them faded to nothing; with only the dizzying sensation of being consumed, lost in the electricity of the kiss, where every touch, every movement, felt like an unspoken of more to come.
All his life, Alaric had never felt so much need with just a mere kiss but now, he was about to shift to his original form. His inner beast wanted to take over so much it was starting to hurt him. Every time he wanted to back off, he found himself drawn to her badly and did not want the moment to end. He had lost terribly to her, and he knew if she did not stop him, he would do something that both of them would regret. To hell with regret! He just wanted her so damn badly. With that, he pulled her deepening the kiss.

I was in hell, yes hell. Too much heat, dark desires and most of all complex feelings were growing rapidly in my heart. His touch, his lips, his skin under my arms, everything felt so good that it scared me because I did not want him to stop. I wanted more, more of him, more of what he was doing to me. Even though my lips were already sore, my body did not stop craving for his touch and his maddening kisses.
A knock on the door startled us, and we froze our lips locked to each other, with our bodies still entangled, while my back was still pressed on the door. A second knock brought us into awareness, and I immediately jumped off Alaric's arms trying to straighten my messed hair and blouse. Thank goodness I had worn a pair of jeans that day so there was not much worry. The only question was who could it be? Finn? Did he forget something? I looked up and to my surprise, the man was nowhere in front of me but instead, he was seated back on the couch as if nothing big had happened. I sighed wondering how horny I was to make out with a man I had met not less than a day ago. The third knock came by, and full of irritation, I opened the door.
"What?" I snapped at whoever was there but immediately regretted it. "Za... Zan... Zander?" This was not possible. How did he find me in this big city? I blinked my eyes twice, but the man was still standing there with his gloomy scary face. I could already guess who had ratted me out, Finn. That betrayer! I would deal with him once he came back.
I watched as the man pushed beside me without a word and walked inside, precisely, walked towards Alaric and sat opposite him. He was so calm that it scared the hell out of me. Looking at the open door behind me, the idea of fleeing crossed my mind, and I smiled triumphantly.
"I dare you to take a step!" I had not even moved, and he was already at me. I turned around meeting Zander's cold gaze which I could never get used to. Tugging my fingers uneasily, I stepped closer but to their way and stood a few steps away from them. If Finn was cruel, then Zander was heartless, ruthless, and cold-blooded. He was the only living person that gave me a real scare. Now that he was here, only the heavens could save me from his wrath.
"I didn't know you were coming." Alaric spoke first drawing Zander's attention.
"Neither did I. I was forced to by someone who had the nerve to escape from my training camp." He eyed me throughout his speech then shifted to Alaric.
"Are you here to take her back?" Alaric's question made my heart skip a beat picturing what would happen to the poor me if I were to go back to the camp. Sleepless nights under the cold air, days without food, dangerous missions.
"Nooo!" I shrieked causing the two to glare at me weirdly. I cleared my throat ready to explain. "What I mean is I was strictly ordered by Finn to look after him... Alaric, until he comes back from his trip or whatsoever, so, I cannot go back... yet." That was the most strenuous explanation I had ever made up in a span of a few seconds. I looked at Alaric with pleading eyes hoping he would not snitch on me, but he just turned a blind eye. Huh! What was I expecting from him?
Zander gave me the look 'I know you are lying' and to my astonishment, he did not utter a word. As for the reason why, only he knew.
"I just came to see if she has caused any new problems while handling a few other matters."
"She has caused a lot of problems," That was it. I strolled over and sat beside Alaric. Wasn't this a bit cruel? I leaned closer to him before whispering, "What trouble have I caused you, Mister Nightveil? Just because you have a problem with my way of living does not mean you can incriminate me of something I've not done. You are the one who has been causing me problem after problem. Barged into my house, made me sleep on the balcony and now I have to stay..."
"The problem is you talk too much. Isn't that enough?" Though his voice was not that loud, Zander still heard it with his acute sense of hearing that always amazed me. So, I had to lean closer to Alaric so he would not hear my plan. "How about this, I'll try as much as I can to stay silent around you, just don't let him take me back. I'll do anything you want as long as you help me this once, please? Hmm?" I blinked my eyes expectantly.
"Anything?" He whispered back with a sly smile, but I just nodded hopelessly. He chuckled lightly then turned to Zander. "You heard her. She's under my care now."
"It's not like I came here to take her back."
"I know."
Wait! What exactly was happening? I shook my head looking at the two, one at a time as they conversed. So, Zander was not here to bring me back to the camp. And to add it all this lying devil was aware about it and just took advantage of my fear. I clenched my fist boiling with anger. I stood up abruptly full of anger, but the man just raised his lips then winked at me.
"I'll just use the restroom," I uttered in a low seething voice, my teeth tightly clenched.
"Am watching you," Zander added when I was just a few steps away from the door.
I paused turning my head with a smiley, fuming gaze. "Don't worry, I still have some unfinished business." I stomped out of the room closing the door with a bang, and just followed the pathway to wherever it took me, and thankfully I found myself outside the restaurant through the back door.
