The only sound between them was their quiet slowed breathing and the rapid heartbeat of Ravenna. She quickly snapped out of her stupor and bit her tongue realizing what she had uttered.
"I mean the King of business world... yes that's it," she walked away from him brushing her hair nervously.
Alaric did not say a word but walked directly to the door with an unnoticeable smile on his lips, making the girl behind him let out a restrained breath through her mouth.
"Nice place," Ravenna commended when they got into the mansion. Nice was understatement, it was magnificent but she did not want to seem too surprised, forgetting she had already done so some time ago.
"Hmm." Alaric hummed before sitting on the couch, placing his leg over the other. "Sit down. There are a few rules you need to follow when staying here." Ravenna sat down opposite Alaric quietly ready to listen to the so-called rules. As long as they did not affect her living, she would gladly abide by them.
"Go on." She said after getting comfortable.
"First, you are not allowed to bring visitors into my house. Second, you have to ask for permission before leaving the mansion and explain where you are going. Last but not the least, never and I mean never enter my room or go near it."
Ravenna stared at him as if he had grown horns. She wanted to shout what kind of stupid rules were those but opted to keep quiet to avoid trouble. But still, she was not comfortable with one rule.
"I agree except for the second one." She raised her argument but the man just glanced her lazily.
"We are not negotiating rather am informing you. Whether you accept or not is not my business."
Ravenna scoffed then burst into a hysterical laughter. "Am I in some kind of prison? Why should I obey your stupid rules? Am a grown up for hell's sake!"
Alaric closed his eyes tightly till she was done talking. "Fourth rule, no shouting allowed especially when am around." He stood up intending to leave but the girl sprang from the couch and stood before him, making him fall back on the seat.
"Am not done," she placed both her hands on her waist glaring at him.
"But am done," Alaric was about to stand again but she pressed him on the couch with her hands on his chest.
"I said am not done." She had this serious look but to Alaric, she looked like a wild cat that needed to be purred gently till she calmed down.
"What do you want?" He asked crossing his arms on his chest.
"What I want is clear. Do not restrict my freedom. I left the camp to be free and you are trying to do the same. Who knows, I might also run..." She did not complete her statement due to the sudden change of position which happened in a blink of an eye. Alaric was now pinning her on the couch as he half leaned towards her.
"If you think about running away I'll lock you up in a dungeon darker than hell." His threatening voice resonated in her ears but instead of getting scared, she blinked her eyes twice them scoffed.
"Try something else, that won't work on me. I've been locked in cells that are darker than you," she whispered to his face then turned away to avoid any unwanted feelings.
Alaric let out a soft chuckle before turning her head with his finger on her chin to face him. He liked when he saw those different emotions swarming on her face. Anger, curiosity, confusion, desire and something else he did not want to believe because it was not even possible.
"Then how about..." he paused making her anxious but she acted as if she was not affected even the little bit. "I let you fast for a few days."
As expected, her eyes went wide open then her mouth. "But you can't do that... I mean what if I die of hunger. Finn and Zander won't forgive you and I wouldn't want you to get harmed. I know we have our differences but am not that heartless so... Ouch! Why did you bite my lip you vampire!"
"Rule four." He straightened himself and was already walking away when Ravenna came back to her senses. "The housekeeper behind will show you to your room." He added then took a lift up to his room that was on the top floor of the mansion.
"Wow! There's even a lift in the house. First in that bloody mansion and now this castle. Phew! What a city..."
"Good evening, Miss. Would you like me to show you to your room first?" A man asked from behind making Ravenna jump in surprise.
"Oh my!" She exclaimed looking at man who had the cutest face ever. If Alaric was devilishly handsome, then this man was angelically cute. "How old are you, cutie pie?"
The man's eyes went wide hearing what she just called him. "Miss, my name is Luke not..." He blushed profusely not able to utter the name.
"Aaww! But you are such a cutie. I've seen only cute babies but never a cute man. Lemme touch those cheeks, am dying just looking at them and want to feel them too." Ravenna's eyes were shining with invisible stars twinkling in her eyes, her foul mood forgotten like it never existed.
Luke feigned a cough then took a step back before she could touch him. "Miss, allow me to show you to your room, please. I need to prepare your dinner."
"Your can cook too? What a rare species you are cutie pie. How about you be my boyfriend? I promise to treat you well and you can treat me with delicacies. What do you think, fair, right?"
Luke felt like crying hearing he words. He had seen his boss kiss her a moment ago and from the look of things, she was special to him. Listening to her words was very heart wrenching imagining what would happen to him if his boss got a word of it. He would be skinned alive.
"Miss, please don't cause trouble for me. I need to perform my duties," he explained hoping she would not insist anymore.
Ravenna thought about it and nodded her head after a few seconds. "Right, you are right or else that robot will sack you and I won't see you anymore. Just take me to my room, I do need to freshen up and change from these dirty clothes... Wait! But I don't have clothes. Cutie pie, how about you lend me some of your shirts and shorts, hmm?" Ravenna blinked her eyes cutely at him.
Luke mouth fell open again in shock. He had never met such a troublesome lady in his whole life. "Miss, everything you need has been prepared."
"What a shame. Okay, take me to your room... Oops! I mean my room." She giggled before pinching Luke's cheek when he was off guard.
Luke seemed to have been struck by lightning and immediately he got back to senses, he dashed away to the lift hoping she would not trouble him anymore.
But inside the lift...
"Cutie pie, which floor is my room? Is it near yours?"
"Cutie pie, do you have a girlfriend?"
"__"
" If yes, you have to break up with her because she does not deserve your beauty."
"__"
"Cutie pie, can I call you my boyfriend?"
"__"
Luke heaved a sigh of relief after she entered her room in the second floor. He was on his way to enter lift when he heard her voice from inside making him run away like he had ever done.
"Cutie pie, I love you!"
