Chapter 23 - Lonesome Pancakes

Ignoring the system, I started to clean the girl's small cut on her forehead. She hissed in pain but was more than strong enough to brave through it.

I talked with her while disinfecting her wound about seemingly meaningless things. But in truth, I was trying to get her to open up to me or at least be comfortable being close to me.

I had received my $19,477 for saving Mrs. Greene, then got my memory lane sub-ability for uncovering her identity. Which meant she hadn't been lying when she told Sarah her real name. What a bitch.

Ahem, but my Absolute Loyalty reward hasn't been received. Not a single system notification has sounded, meaning I hadn't yet made a friend out of her, and she still doesn't trust us.

Which, in hindsight, is not that surprising considering we still have her tied to the chair. Yeah, I must show her that I trust her before she can trust me.
