DRAKE'S VIEW
I shook my head in shock. I didn't want to believe what was coming out of her mouth. My ears weren't deceiving me. She placed her trust in the Colonel and was willing to carry out his dreadful plan and include me in this shenanigans. This was outrageous! I couldn't listen to this anymore. I stood up to walk away. "Goodbye, Anna, and good luck with your plan," I said and almost headed to the door.
"Drake!" she called out. "Listen to me!" she pleaded. I halted and turned around. "I have nothing to say to you. I am not going to be part of your elaborate plan," I refused her. She looked at me with her pouting lips and beady eyes. I turned away. If I looked at her, there was a strong possibility that I might give in. "Why not?" she queried. "Is it because you are jealous that the Colonel was the one who gave me training?"
"Listening to your reasoning alone tells me that you haven't thought this through, as you should have," I retorted.
