Anna's view
Drake placed me on the spot. I didn't know how to answer him, with Dr. Shane peering at me. I still didn't know who to trust. I couldn't betray Colonel James. He was nothing but nice to me. He even set me up at a fancy hotel. "I don't know how to answer you, Drake," I replied honestly. "It's either me or him? It's that simple." He gave me an ultimatum, which I hated.
"Dr. Shane, could you give me and Anna a minute to talk in private?" There's something I want to say to her." Drake instructed Dr. Shane to leave. He agreed and left us alone. Drake had a lot of clout in this town, and that scared me a bit. Especially now, when he is being so demanding. On the other hand, I need to know the truth about the weapon. I was so torn.
"Why must there be a full-blown war between you guys?" I asked Drake.
"I didn't start it," he replied.
"I don't care who started it. I am in the middle of this, which really sucks," I sighed.
