ANNA'S VIEW
The guard was a burly man. There was no convincing him to let me off the hook. He gave me a firey gaze as he brought me straight into Drake's mansion. There was terror in my eyes. Now I know that I would never see my son again, and I might end up in prison. What had I done? That bastard has won!
My son is going to be another Drenmore. I couldn't bear the thought as I was escorted into the house by the guard. I was done for.
We waited there. I grew restless. Eventually he came out and waltzed into the room. He came out with our son in his arms. My heart felt some warmth. It was the first time in months that I saw my baby. I became emotional. I ached to grab him and make a run for it. My heart yearned to hold my boy close to my chest and never let go. He looked healthy. I hated to admit it, but he did look well taken care of. I never doubted that.
