Chapter 22 - Hunters Paradise

Once done with the gate, Kang began experimenting with Blood Pact for the next couple of days.

The ability created a single drop of his blood essence every time he used it. Naturally, the system allowed him to choose which stat of the target was buffed before proceeding. Twenty percent was the maximum, and ten percent was the minimum he could apply without losing 1% Exp.

Through testing, Kang found that a single drop was not potent enough, so he had to dilute the thick blood into 15 ml of water before masking its color and smell through some ingredients. In the end, the golden color and the scent were good enough to consider it a decent product.

Using five hundred years' worth of lifespan, Kang created twenty bottles before transforming each into a serum. Finally, Kang gave it the name 'Golden Sun Serum' and placed them into two separate boxes.

Over the days, Kang's information continued to grow, and soon enough, he planned to head to Central Paradise. Those serums had a single purpose, which was to attract hunters there. Central Paradise, or rather Hunter Paradise as Kang called it, was different from the rest of the Paradise countries.

It consisted of a single large city with no actual government controlling it, and its population was ninety percent made up of hunters. It had everything a hunter could imagine, as long as one could afford the prices. Naturally, Kang understood it was the perfect place to recruit hunters for his guild.

A prying eye would naturally target any guild as long as it was careless enough, especially if there were enough valuables to appeal. And the serums were perfect for such a thing.

A week passed, and the guild's building was finally complete. Kang had to assign the floors himself. Leaving the first floor for reception, he reserved the second through fifth floors as trial areas for new members. The sixth to eighth floors were designated for core operations and storage. The ninth and tenth floors were set aside for a training hall and an arena for the guild members.

The eleventh floor was for executives and meetings, and the top floor was Kang's office. On the roof, there was a stationary spot for a light helicopter, which Kang didn't hesitate to use as he contacted Jonathan to buy him a light one right away. It was an airbus with four seats.

It took another week to finish Kang's orders, but it didn't cost him as much compared to before, and finally, the day James arrived was around the corner. That night, Kang effortlessly created the weapons specified before waiting for James's arrival: one heavy sword, a set of daggers, two one-handed spears, a scythe, a double-edged sword, and two short axes.

Time passed quickly, and daylight arrived while Kang waited patiently for James in his office. While waiting, Kang spent his time surfing through the information Yuna sent him. Alongside Frost Claw, Iron Crest, and Vanguard were the three leading guilds in Paradise, with Vanguard being the strongest due to having three S-ranked hunters.

"What is the use of S-ranked hunters if they are too lazy to get their ass moving? Perhaps I should do something about it, but for now, I'll start with Frost Claw since it's the weakest." With a single S-ranked leader, Kang set his sights on it right away. Even though he understood it might tarnish his reputation, Kang didn't care much since he had no shame to begin with.

A couple of hours later, the time finally arrived as Yuna—his current secretary—entered Kang's office, announcing James's arrival. Checking his phone, Kang noticed that two hours had passed while he was waiting for his guest. Following Kang's orders, Yuna brought James in, and soon enough, they were shaking hands.

"Welcome, Major James. Please take a seat." Gesturing to the seat opposite him, Kang spoke before sitting down after James.

"Apologies, Mr. Shepherd, but we have some urgent matters to handle back at the main base, so I won't be able to accompany you for long." Sure enough, James didn't waste any time and skipped to the main topic right away, as Kang expected.

"That's understandable. Follow me, and I'll show you the items." Hearing James's words, Kang stood immediately, offering James to follow him to the storage room where the weapons were kept. Entering the room, Kang led James to where the weapons were held upside down by handles on the wall.

"Feel free to test anything if you want. All of them are equally strong, but the daggers are quite stronger since they can be used together." Stepping aside, Kang allowed James to inspect the weapons, and soon enough, Kang could see the satisfaction on his face.

"Thank you once again, Mr. Shepherd! This will greatly help strengthen the military." Pausing, James pulled out his personal phone before sending Kang the remaining payment. "I've sent the payment, but it will take a while to process since it's no small amount. If there's nothing else, I'll bid my farewell."

"That's fine. I'm curious—do you know about the Hunters Hub auction happening next month? Do you plan to attend it?" Checking his bank account, Kang found a pending payment before nodding and responding to James. Military hunters were the ones who mostly fought against the invasive beasts, so Kang planned to catch their attention.

"That depends on the item list, but most likely not, since we mostly have everything we need." Hearing James's response, Kang nodded before accompanying him out to where his military car was waiting.

'To Frost Claw!' Watching James depart, Kang didn't hesitate to bring Yuna alongside him to the helicopter waiting for them. Soon enough, both headed toward Central Paradise as the helicopter took flight.

Approximately one hour later, at full speed, the helicopter arrived at the city's airport. Since the auction was still some time away, Kang decided to visit the organizers to put his items on the list before heading to the Frost Claw headquarters.

Since Yuna wasn't very familiar with the city, Kang hired a guide to drive them both to Hunters Hub. A few minutes later, Kang entered the building using his hunter identity, which made things quite easy from start to finish.

"Where can I list these items in the upcoming auction?" Placing the small box containing five serums on the desk, Kang caught the attention of the woman, who frowned upon noticing his mask. Although she initially questioned his identity, the S-rank identity card immediately changed her expression, altering her attitude completely.

"I sincerely apologize, Sir. Please wait for a moment…" Ignoring the woman's reaction, Kang waited for her to finish whatever she was doing.

"Alright, Sir. Please follow me, and I will take you to the designated place." A moment later, Kang and Yuna followed her to an office on the upper floor, where another young woman was waiting for them.

"What items do you wish to list, Sir?" Noticing the fancy box Yuna had carried, the woman asked right away.

"I wish to sell these five serums. They are capable of boosting any hunter's strength by a remarkable ten percent. What do you think?" Taking the box from Yuna, Kang placed it in front of the woman and revealed the serums inside.
