The fragrant scent tickled her nose and she opened her eyes. The chilly air suddenly blew and it made her blink. Carole was astonished to find herself in an endless place full of flowers and grasses. She is under a big tree with the birds singing their hearts out sweetly.
"Am I dreaming?"
Carole thought to herself, pinching her arm. She stood up and her bare feet started to walk. The green and soft grass tickled her skin as if it was protecting her from the hard ground. She walked and walked and found out that this place is endless.
If she is dreaming right now, she doesn't want to wake up anymore. The reality will only hurt her and she didn't want to continue feeling the pain of her seeing her best friend and husband betrayed her.
"What is this place?" she asked herself.
She felt so relaxed that it became suspicious. She knew that the last thing happened was she caught Aston and Natalie having an affair when she went back home to get her IDs. It was a devastating event that her heart started to feel suffocated again.
The cold air blew once again, making Carole cover her eyes from the harsh impact. Suddenly, all of the flowers and grasses disappeared. She took a step back until her back bumped the big tree she was under earlier.

"She's awake, call the Doctor."
The white ceiling and the white curtain blinded Carole as she opened her eyes slowly. She felt a little dizzy which made her eyebrows squint. A tall young woman with glasses came to her side. She is wearing a white coat and a stethoscope around her neck.
"Her pulse is normal. I'm gonna check her blood pressure." The Doctor gently grabbed her arm and performed a blood pressure test on her.
Carole quickly realized that she was in a hospital. She looked at the nurse on her side who sweetly smiled at her and the Doctor that was still busy examining her body. She had a fluid connected to her nerves too.
"Am I sick?"
Her hoarse voice asked. Carole remembered that she fainted after taking so much stress. She caught her husband cheating with her best friend in their own mansion, doing it in their bedroom. Her heart felt tight again.
"Please relax, Madam." The nurse said, brushing her hair. "You need to relax your body," she said, already aware of Carole's expression.
The nurse held Carole's hand. "Inhale..exhale..Inhale..exhale,"
Carole followed it unconsciously and it made her relaxed for a while. She turned her head and looked at the long white curtains covering her from the surroundings. It looks like she was alone here. Nobody was sitting beside her.
"Who took me here?" she asked the nurse.
"Someone called the ambulance, Madam." The nurse replied, fixing her blanket. "You came here unconscious because you fainted from so much stress which is not good for your body," she answered honestly.
Carole felt sad. As a patient who got hospitalized suddenly, she is expecting that there is at least someone who looks after her or worries about her. But no one was there. Even her cheater husband and best friend.
"Are you back to reality now?" the Doctor asked, clicking her fingers in front of Carole's eyes. "I need to tell you something. Don't worry, it's good news." she said with a smile on her face.
Carole's heart skipped a beat and it made her gulp. If the Doctor will tell her that she was only dreaming and her husband really didn't cheat with her best friend, she will be content and happy. However, reality sucks and sometimes you can't control what will happen.
"Congratulations, Madam. You are one month pregnant." The Doctor said.
Carole's world stopped. She was stuck with those words echoing repeatedly through her mind. It was impossible for her to get pregnant this instant. Aston and her were married for five years and this is the only moment she will find out that she was pregnant?
"I-I'm pregnant?" Carole asked, still shocked.
The Doctor looked at the nurse and then back to Carole. She nodded her head.
"Yes, you are pregnant. There is a baby inside your womb. That's why I advised you to stop making yourself stressed because it can affect your baby." The Doctor said.
Now Carole realized why she fainted earlier. The nurse and the Doctor finally left her. Now that she was alone,a lot of thoughts came to her mind. Being pregnant at this time is quite uncertain. A lot of things happened and it affected her emotional health.
She thought that she would never get pregnant after five years of trying. Though it was too late. The family that once she dreamed of will never come true because Aston broke it. He broke her heart, her trust, her hopes and dreams, everything.
Carole sighed, putting her hand on her stomach, still couldn't believe that there was someone there all along. Carole lay her back flat on the bed, looking at the fluid dropping slowly going inside her nerves.
She felt so alone, always. Even her family didn't even come and show that they were worried about her. Not even her husband's shadow. Aston should have at least felt remorse and stayed by her side until she woke up.
"That scum," Carole cursed inside her mind.
She inhaled and exhaled, recalling what the doctor said to her. Stop all the things that's making her stressed. Just thinking of Aston was enough to make her blood boil. She didn't want to add Natalie because she couldn't even want to see her ex best friend right now.
Carole decided to rest for now and thought of everything when she got out of the hospital. Right now, rest is all she needs. Thinking about her problems will only make it worse. Though she already has an idea of what to do to Aston and Natalie.
Maybe a divorce will be so much better. She was still thinking about whether to tell Aston about the baby. Carole knew that he was the father but she felt like Aston didn't deserve to know about this child anymore.
