"Oh my gosh!"
The lady on top of Aston almost fell from his lap when the door widely opened. The secretary who was late to stop Carole covered her eyes and almost jumped seeing her boss and his affair naked together.
"Apologies, boss!" the secretary exclaimed as she shut the door closed, leaving Carole, Aston and Natalie inside. She prayed on her way down that she still has this job tomorrow.
Aston quickly put up his pants and his white polo from the floor. He wiped the side of his lips which was already stained by Natalie's red lipstick. Natalie, on the other hand, also dressed herself and hide behind Aston.
Seeing them for the second time, Carole's heart pierced her once again. But she composed herself. She will not cry today, and will never cry again because of Aston.
"You two have no shame at all," she said, emphasizing the words that came out of her mouth.
Carole walked forward and sat on the long sofa there, crossing her legs and putting her sunglasses down. The slit of her dress traced her pale and smooth thighs. No wonder these two didn't even apologize because they have no plan at all.
"What are you doing here?" Aston asked, walking towards the sofa. He didn't sit at all. He was ashamed for the second time but his pride is telling him that Carole will just crawl back to him.
Carole slammed the papers on the round glass table. She looks Aston from head to toe with sharp eyes.
"Sign these papers," she ordered.
To his surprise, Aston sat down and scanned every piece of paper on the table. After reading and knowing what it was, his anger rose up. He threw everything back to Carole.
"Are you making me laugh, Carole?!" his voice exclaimed. "Where did you get the pride and ego to divorce me, huh?!" he said, thinking so highly of himself.
Carole chuckled at him. "How about you, Aston?" She stood up. "Where did you get the pride and ego to fucking cheat on me with my best friend? Have you no shame?" she returned the question.
Aston raised his hand and was about to slap his wife but Natalie grabbed his hands, stopping him. Natalie faced Carole with eyes ready to tear up.
"Please, Carole. Enough of all of this." She pleaded. "Aston don't love you anyway. You can continue to be his wife as if nothing happened. You don't need to do all of this." She said.
Carole pierced her ex best friend with a deadly stare. "Did I ask for your opinion? How dare you interrupt our conversation." she walked closer and gazed at Natalie from head to toe. "Is that all you can do? Step between relationships?"
Natalie was surprised that her knees trembled. She couldn't believe that Carole would say that to her. She was stupefied and unconsciously stepped back, behind Aston with her head lower on the ground.
"Why did you stop?" Carole asked Aston, looking at his hands that were still in the air. "Are you going to hit me again, Aston?"
Aston gritted his teeth and kicked the table, he pushed Carole and grabbed her cheeks so tight. He tilted her head.
"How dare you threaten me? Do you think you will make me crawl and apologize because of stupid divorce papers? Have you lost your mind, Carole? You are only a design to me to make my image good. You are nothing without me."
He pushed the lady with his eyes looking at her sharply.
It hurts.
Carole knew that it hurt her cheeks. Aston was used to hurting her and she never realized that it was wrong until now. She wanted to kick the man but she needed to get her baby's safety so she decided to calm down.
"Name your price. Name everything." Aston said. "I will compensate you and give you all the money you wanted."
"I don't need your money," Carole quickly interrupted him. "I already stated in the divorce papers that I will not take anything from you."
She walked closer to Aston. "Your money disgusts me, Mr Albrecth. I don't need anything, especially you from my life." Carole said.
She took the pen from the table and shove it hard onto the man's chest.
"Sign the papers because I already did my part. If you want to talk about the divorce then talk to my lawyer. Funny of you to think that I will still crawl back to you after what you've done to me."
She pushed Aston. "You ruined my life. You ruined everything, and you will take all the guilt to your grave, Aston Albrecht, remember that!"
After saying her last piece, Carole took his small sling bag and walked towards the door, leaving the two speechless. She slammed the door closed.
As soon as she walked the hallways far from the CEO office, her knees trembled and her eyes started to blur. Carole wiped the tears before it fell down on her cheeks. Even though she pretended earlier, her heart was still weak. She still loved and trusted Aston and that feeling will not disappear immediately.
She entered the VIP elevator and then fixed herself through the mirrored wall there. With one hand on her stomach, Carole is not alone now. This baby will be her hope and life.
The secretary was surprised when she saw Carole walk out of the elevator, wearing her sunglasses. She didn't know what to do and she thought that her boss' wife would lecture her, but Carole just ignored her.
Carole wanted to escape this hellish place and never come back again. She will never see or meet Aston ever again. Everything will be handled by her lawyer.
Before those tears fell on her cheeks and before her knees gave up, she rushed to the lobby going to the exit.
Not looking where she was going, Carole accidentally bumped into someone again.
"I'm sorry, are you alr—Miss Carole?"
Royce held the lady up, making sure she could stand on her own before letting her arms go. He picked the sunglasses from the floor, and before giving it to the lady, he already noticed her red and puffy eyes.
"I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" he asked, worried.
Carole quickly turned her gaze away and grabbed the sunglasses from Royce's hand. She put it on and cleared her throat.
"I'm fine," she said.
"Are you sure? Do you want me to take you to a hospital? You look pale right now." Royce insisted, taking his phone from his pocket.
"No!" Carole exclaimed. "No need, I'm just tired. That's all. You didn't hurt me." She asserted.
Before Royce could respond again, Carole pushed the exit door. "I'm sorry but I need to go now."
However, as soon as she pushed the door, her surroundings changed and her eyes fainted.
