Carole only spent two days in the hospital. After two days, she was discharged. Nobody came to visit her or even accompany her going out. She is now determined to end everything with Aston. A second chance is not an option.
She's not the dumb and stupid nuisance wife anymore. She realized that after having a baby, she will never let Aston touch her. She will not let this baby face the same fate she experienced. Even if the world is against her, she will fight for it.
She already called her lawyer and told her about the situation. Her lawyer processed all the papers needed for the divorce. Right now, she is planning on going to the company to surprise Aston.
Carole will never move a nerve even if she finds Natalie with Aston. For her, this marriage is over. She will just call her parents after letting Aston sign the divorce paper.
As usual, Carole didn't find the man in the mansion. She asked the taxi to wait for her because today, she will move out from that cursed house. That is not her home anymore. Aston had already gone to the office.
The heavy atmosphere welcomed her and it made her steps difficult to step inside that hell house. Her chest once again felt the tingling sensation that almost killed her that day she witnessed the betrayal of her best friend and husband.
Carole composed and helped herself. There is no one who can comfort her but herself. Even though the flashbacks are still fresh, she pushed herself to go upstairs. Her steps unconsciously stopped when she walked passed by the master's bedroom.
Her fist clenched and that awful scene played as if she was witnessing it again. Carole may be strong to confront them, but deep inside her heart she is already torn to pieces. Since she was already torn to pieces, she had no plan on getting things back to where they started.
Carole already gave everything and she knew that it was all her best. She promised to herself that starting from now on, she will choose herself and the baby inside her womb first.
She turned her head and walked past the master bedroom. She had no time to reminisce about the bad memory that ruined her.
Carole packed all of the things she needed except the things that came from Aston. She already told herself that she will not take anything from Aston ever again. Even the divorce paper had nothing in it about money or wealth.
She wanted to show Aston that she can live on her own with the baby inside her. She will love this child more than herself and cherish it for the rest of her life.
After packing two bags, she headed down and went straight to the taxi waiting outside. She can now finally breath, the oxygen inside the mansion suffocates her. Carole leaned her head on the car and glanced at the mansion one last time before telling the driver the place she will be staying.
She went back to the same hotel she booked. The receptionist welcomed her and this time, her IDs having her maiden surname are ready. After that exhausted trip, she laid flat on the soft mattress.
Her stomach rumbled, making her realize that she skipped lunch. Carole put her hand on her stomach.
"I'm sorry. Mommy forgot to eat." She apologized.
She immediately ordered food and ate to her heart's content. After finally feeling full, Carole took a quick bath. She scanned the clothes inside her cabinet and decided to choose the silk red dress with a long slit from the legs.
She wore a black stilettos and put on a small amount of makeup. Today, she will not go home like a loser. If there are someone who will lose today, it's Aston.
When the elevator opened, the people waiting there couldn't help but turn their heads to the beautiful lady who just walked out from the elevator. Some of them recognized her and took pictures, while the others was mesmerized by her beauty alone.
The lady receptionist smiled at Carole.
"You look so stunning, Madam. Are you going to a party?" She couldn't help but asked the beautiful lady the reason of her beauty today.
Carole blushed and felt shy, but she held her head up. "No," she replied. "I'm going to crash someone's party," she left a smirk before turning around.
A taxi stopped in front of her and she got in. Even the taxi driver was surprised to see an extraordinary beauty.
"Where to, Madam?" he asked.
Carole mentioned the company name before putting on her sunglasses. She was prepared and she promised herself that she will not cry today no matter what. She will not stress herself out today.
"We are here, Madam." The taxi driver broke her silence.
After paying, she gave a tip and stepped out of the car. The tall building towered over her, making her think of how wealthy Aston's family. She had no choice. With the divorce papers in her hands, she trailed the lobby.
Aston's secretary almost choked after seeing the wife of her boss. She dashed towards the lady.
"Madam Albrecht, I wasn't informed that you are going to visit today," she said in panic.
Carole halted and put down her sunglasses. "Do I need to make an appointment to meet my husband? The owner of this company?" she asked in sarcasm.
Even though she didn't want to call Aston her husband anymore, she felt that something was happening inside Aston's office right now that he didn't want to be disturb.
The secretary quickly turned into the corner with her eyes down. "I apologize, Madam." She whispered, leading Carole to the VIP elevator. The truth is, her boss told her to not let anybody in because he will take a rest.
As soon as they reached the designated floor, the secretary walked past Carole.
"Can you please wait in the lobby, Madam? I will inform my boss of your arrival," she said, already sweating.
A smirk formed across Carole's cheeks. "He is my husband. I don't need to wait for his permission before I get inside his damn office, do you understand?"
The secretary flinched. It was her first time seeing and hearing Carole's voice go up. She usually talks meekly and slowly.
"B-Boss said to not let anyone enter because she will take a rest. I don't want him–Madam!"
Carole didn't even let the secretary finish her sentence. She stomped towards the office and pushed the door widely.
"Oh?" Carole's eyebrows raised. "No wonder your secretary said you didn't want to be disturbed," she sarcastically said.
