Carole ignored her thoughts and headed upstairs. She made sure that her footsteps were light because if Aston is indeed home, she didn't want to see him. She is not ready to see her husband and answer all his questions.
When Carole reached the hallway, the half open door of the master's bedroom caught her eyes. She was sure that it was still too early for Aston to go home. She knew that he had a lot of meetings in the company.
Aston also always likes to come home late. That half open door indeed made Carole intrigued. The master's bedroom was supposed to be their room as a couple and looking at it open, made her sure that someone is indeed there.
Her pulse started to raise and she felt her heart from her chest. She didn't know but she felt nervous while slowly approaching the master's bedroom.
Suddenly, her ears caught unusual sounds as she stepped closer. It is impossible for Aston to make those kinds of sounds. Carole wanted to stop herself from daydreaming when she suddenly heard a female voice.
Her footsteps stopped. Her fist clenched and she felt her whole world fall apart as soon as she saw what was happening inside. She couldn't help but to peek if her husband was there but what she saw surprised her.
She saw Natalie, her own best friend on top of Aston grinding naked while moaning in pleasure.
Carole was stunned where she stood. Her whole body froze and she turned cold as if someone poured a bucket of cold ice on her. Her eyes couldn't even blink. She was stuck there like a hard rock.
Natalie and Aston's moans already clogged her ears and her head felt so light. Her knees trembled and she fell down. Her eyes started to cry like a river with silent sobs. All of her hopes and dreams for the two of them disappeared immediately.
She covered her mouth with her palms as her eyes continued to tear like a raining sky. Her heart sunk and her breaths started to feel shorter while hearing those unusual sounds that were getting louder inside her thoughts.
Carole then slowly stood up as if she suddenly gained all of her strength back. She grabbed the side of the door and kicked it hard.
"What's that?!"
It was Natalie who yelled as soon as she heard the loud bang. Aston was also astonished to see the unusual person, which is his wife in the room.
Before they could even part from each other, Carole yelled. She yelled her heart out in anger with her crying eyes and closed tight fist.
"HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME?!!!"
Carole screamed, punching the air with her anger. Her sharp eyes gazed at Natalie and for the first time, Natalie felt scared and intimidated. She couldn't move as she turned away from Carole's piercing eyes.
"How could you, Aston?!"
Carole walked towards their bed and her hands grabbed Natalie from the bed. Her eyes flared and she grabbed Natalie without any hesitation.
"I trusted you and this is what I will find out?!" She yelled at the woman angrily.
Natalie was thrown on the floor, fully naked. Aston quickly grabbed Carole away from Natalie who was now screaming in pain because of her hair being grabbed.
"Stop it!"
As soon as Aston yelled that, a hard slap landed on his face.
"You fucking pig!" Carole screamed. "I may be quiet, Aston but I'm not fucking stupid! After all these years of loving you! This is all what you're gonna give me? And with my best friend?!"
Never in their life they wanted to believe that Carole can say that or do that. She is always the soft and kind hearted lady everyone thinks as stupid and a nuisance. Seeing this side of Carole, tickled their nerves, making them intimidated.
"You're fucking my best friend who looks like a sister to me behind my back?!" Carole pushed Aston as her eyes started to tear up again. "If you don't like me, you should have told me from the very start, you moron!" she exclaimed angrily.
She gulped and bit her lips, trying to control her emotions. Crying right now won't solve anything. She knew that Aston would never pity her because he never did in the first place. Ift he man really loved or even considered her feelings, he should have told her that he didn't love her anymore instead of crawling to Natalie's arms.
A hand slowly reached Carole. Natalie grabbed her hand while crying. "I'm sorry, Carole." she said.
Her apologies made Carole more broken. After all this time of betraying her, this is only what she's gonna get. Apologies won't fix anything. Carole only looked at Natalie, hopeless. She didn't know what she's going to say.
Natalie knew everything. She knew what Carole was experiencing in this marriage and yet she had the guts and pride to do all of this behind her back.
Carole swayed her hand away. "Don't touch me, Natalie." she said with cold eyes.
Her breaths were getting shorter and shorter while the surroundings started to blur out. Carole suddenly felt like something was struck through her chest. She fell down but supported herself while leaning on the side of the bed.
Clenching her chest, Carole felt the dizziness from her head down to her toes. Her eyes blinked and the surroundings suddenly turned black. Those ringing sounds in her ears made her more paralyzed on her spot.
"C-Carole?!"
"Hey, Carole! Can you hear me?!"
Carole felt her body lay down on someone's arms. She couldn't hear those voices anymore, only her breaths.
"Call an ambulance!" Natalie yelled while clinging to Carole.
Aston immediately grabbed her pants and found his phone, cursing while dialing the number. Natalie brushed Carole's hair, making sure that she could inhale as much air as she needed.
Carole's face was sweating and her complexion is now pale, especially her lips. Looks like she fainted from so much stress she witnessed tonight. Her body gave up and she couldn't even push Natalie away despite her anger.
Before her eyes could even blinked the ambulance finally came.
