Heading to the VR section of the restaurant both friends quickly found a booth in other to commence their game .
Logging into the system their consciousness were transported into the lobby area .
The thing about Nova soul's Virtual reality Technology was it's realism , it boasted a level of reality infinitly close to the real world . Every blade of grass ,the blowing winds, the various abilities you used ,even the pain you felt was superbly simulated to an unreal level .
This and a host of other things also made it the perfect training environment as you could fight to your hearts content without fearing death or pain ,it was cost effective and cheap .
No wonder even the military employed them in it's training programmes.
Inviting Pang Pengyou whose user name was 'Trampler of the stars' into his lobby Dongfan Yue whose own username was 'Tech junkie' proceeded to wait for the game's algorithm to match them up with other players for a five VS five match as they had both previously agreed.
Soon three more spots of light shone in their lobby indicating the arrival of their teammates.
The thing about Nova soul's VR was tthat despite the high level of realism one's identity could easily be hidden without even the company being able to tamper with it . Therefore someone who was an athletic buff guy in the VR world could actually be a lazy fat guy or even a woman , however ,most appeared just as they were in real life .
"It seems like they are a pro team ."
" Why do you say that ?
" Their bearing is just like that of those professional teams, furthermore I think have seen them before. "
Whispering to Pang Pengyou who equally whispered back , a quick observation of their soon -to- be teammates was made by Dongfan Yue .
With the three new guys stepping towards the duo ,they introduced themselves , obviously with their in game names ,duh .
Waving her hands ,the person who seemed to be the leader of the group started the introductions .
"Hiii , am Starfire and the mech I pilot is the Radman V a rifleman mech."
" Am Tyrant ripper and I pilot the Hercules a kind of heavy knight mech . "
" And my humble self is the Immolator my mech is a Trechan , a beast type mech .
" We are all members of the Jacaranda mechers."
At this point all Dongfan Yue and Pang Pengyou could see were just CEA credits .
The mechs Starfire and her team were piloting were pretty expensive as each cost a fortune , just the Hercules which Tyrant ripper was piloting cost at least fifty - five million CEA credits !
And that was even still cheap as the other two mechs cost even more !
Scratching the back of his head embarrassedly Dongfan Yue proceeded to introduce the two of them .
" Hehe ,am Tech junkie and he's The trampler of stars and we both pilot Grausers ."
" You pilot a GRAUSER ? Like for real ?"
" You got to be kidding right who still uses that mech ? "
With a face full of surprise both Tyrant ripper and Immortal Taoist exclaimed loudly .
"Pardon my colleagues for their reactions but do you guys really use Grausers ?" Asked Starfire."
You couldn't really blame them for their exaggerated expressions as they were truly shocked . There was practically no one who would pilot a Grauser as it was kinda antique being one of the first mech designs ever created . It was exceptionally hard to find a fully complete model in the real world except in the possession of collectors . The Grausers in the games were included by Nova soul as part of the newbie gift package . Most players never even bothered to use it just letting it gather dust in their inventory.
Pang Pengyou and Dongfan Yue piloting the Grauser till now was due to them refusing to get another mech . The cheapest low end game mech cost about eighty or ninety grand which was considerably cheap ,however the duo's slogan when ever anyone asked them why the hadn't our purchased another mech was as follows : "if it ain't broke don't fix it " .
" Yeah , we do . "
" Oh my goodness ,we are so screwed ."
Right after this the matchup was completed .
Drawing up the map sent to their game interface Tyrant ripper exclaimed : " It's the borderlands . "
" The BORDERLANDS !" Was what they collectively exclaimed before being sent into the game .
The Borderlands was one of the most treacherous game maps in the cosmic mech arena , it was an imitation of a planet located at the extreme edge of Ares galaxy , accidentally discovered by a human transport ship it soon became popular after the said ship failed to return . Only the distress calls transmitted by the ship after it's destruction and the total annihilation of the crew alerted humans about the dangers of this beautiful but deadly planet .
In the data the cargo ship sent back it was discovered that the Borderlands planetary magnetic field had a sort of Faraday's cage effect , it effectively created an energy insulation on the planet thus most ability users on the planet found it difficult to erupt with their full power weakening them by at least seventy percent , furthermore machines such as mechs and battle suits experienced a level of breakdown too fast to naturally occur . To make matters worse the aboriginals of the planet having been tempered by the harsh conditions on the planet were overwhelming strong though they were pretty dumb , only possessing basic instinct and no intelligence whatsoever . They were very unwelcoming and we're the main cause of the destruction of the cargo ship and it's crew .
Thus the Borderlands had always been regarded as a no go area for any human .Being so dangerous in reality you could expect a battle that would be difficult to win .
