Nancy's face was a mix of shock, disappointment, anger, and happiness. She was shocked to the extent that she couldn't not finish a sentence without stammering.
Zephyrine and Kendrick found the silence at the doorstep weird.
"Nancy, what is going on?" Zephyrine asked.
Yumi smiled at Nancy and stepped into the house. "Don't be too shocked, I am here to see my son."
Nancy cleared her throat and made a way for her to enter. She forced a smile on her face and watched as the woman walked to the living room where the couple sat. She hopes nothing will happen today.
Yumi roamed her eyes around the house trying to get the same sense of familiarity but it was no longer there. Kendrick's face was down already, reading his newspaper, but when he heard the clicking sound of high heels approaching, it tempted him to raise his head and the strong scent of a lady's perfume. Who could that be?
